Damn Academy

chapter 27

27 – Masters Class (4)

A large explosion occurred with a flash of light. The explosion was so great that the judges and Elizabeth’s clothes were blown around in the aftermath.

aaa

The arena was thick with dust like fog.

So I couldn’t see what was going on with my naked eyes.

Something was moving violently within him.

They couldn’t see what was going on inside, but Gael and other judges could feel it.

That a monstrous mass of magical power was roaming within it.

The judges seemed to be nervous, so they all straightened up.

A light flashed in the dust, and a wave of light rushed to the third line at a terrifying speed.

bang!

It immediately exploded, raising a huge cloud of dust.

Another wave broke through the dust and in the blink of an eye crashed into the ground on the 5th parallel.

aaa

The arena instantly became a mess, and everything from the 1st line to the 5th line was covered with dust.

Even though the field of view was blocked, Gael and all other examiners could not take their eyes off it.

Inside, the sound of swinging a wooden sword several times can be heard. Plantera, whose aggression peaked, will try to kill Damian somehow.

After a few sudden flashes of light, something flew towards the examiners in a long parabola over the dust.

Gael, who was nervous, put his hand on the sword at his waist.

The round thing crashed to the floor and bounced several times before finally rolling slowly to a stop in front of Elizabeth’s feet.

It was Plantera’s severed head.

The cut surface was as smooth as if it had been cut from a boiled egg.

No one knew what the sudden power was.

In the battle that took place inside, Damian had an overwhelming advantage.

Doesn’t that mean you haven’t done your best yet?

Gael let out a small sigh.

“Hmph, cutting your hair won’t be enough.”

Plantera is not a person. He didn’t die simply because his head was cut off.

Because of this, it was useless to cut off the head that looked like a weak point and was poorly defended.

As soon as Gael finished speaking, another explosion erupted with a roar.

Tung, Tung, Tung.

Soon after, Plantera’s upper body rolled out of the dust, scraping the ground as if doing a water throw.

This time, a dragon appeared and cut it with its claws, but the cut surface was grotesquely distorted.

“… .”

Elizabeth laughed softly.

“Whoops, showmanship is great too.”

***

Flynn wrinkled his brow when he first saw Damian’s swordsmanship skills.

I could tell just by looking at the form I wielded for the first time. I didn’t use my back and shoulders properly, so I didn’t have any strength.

‘This is nonsense.’

I couldn’t understand how a guy who had never held a sword properly could be subjected to the ‘trial of the sword’.

As expected, he was hit by Plantera and he fell to the starting point in one shot.

Seeing this, Flynn shook his head.

He stood up again and charged Plantera.

Contrary to the expectation that the screening would end abruptly, the next attempt stimulated Flynn’s interest with a unique move.

It seemed like he would be hit and knocked out immediately, but he was digging through the inside of Plantera and finding a strategy one by one.

‘what?’

Damien entered the middle and went out to the starting point again and fell.

Then he got up again and charged Plantera.

Watching the third attempt, Flynn was momentarily speechless.

After two rounds of trial and error, he found a strategy and even took care of the Planteras one by one.

His movements were meticulous and calculated, but on the other hand, very radical. Rather than a human being, it seemed more like the movement of a beast or witch beast with an extremely developed sixth sense.

And he was going deeper than before.

‘Was I at that level when I was 16?’

It wasn’t. Even with my current skills, that level of movement was impossible.

Realizing that it was impossible to slash them in an ordinary way, he ripped off Plantera’s ankles at any cost.

It seemed unreasonable to break through all of them within 10 minutes, but with enough time, it seemed like we could finally get to Flynn’s front.

It was like a mad hound running through a thorny path to catch him.

Even if blood flows from being stabbed by a thorn, and even if it is clubbed, this dog will run until it dies to tear its scruff.

The hair on his forearm stood up.

And finally, when Damian, who had reached his limit, parried the blown sword. Flynn was relieved.

Flynn clearly had the upper hand, and the fact that he was relieved was strangely hurtful to his pride, but he had to admit it.

It seemed that he would somehow find a way to cut down the flag if given time.

Damian, who threw his sword, closed his eyes as if he had given up on everything.

And when I realized that it wasn’t over after throwing the sword, there was still a 4th attempt left.

Flynn was starting to get scared.

Strange waves of light. Huge explosions and fog-like dust.

After a few flashes of light, the Plantera, twisted like rags, burst out of the dust one by one with an explosion.

‘how… What the hell is going on?’

Flynn couldn’t see it, but he could feel it.

At first, the magic pressure was enough to make his limbs go numb, but it gradually became difficult to breathe, and then the magic pressure pressed him as if a weight was placed on his heart.

It’s coming.

Did even a demon come out of the ground without warning?

After a few more flashes of light, there was no sound in the dust.

Flynn could sense it.

There are no more Plantera left.

1 minute left.

Soon after, a black figure was approaching with footsteps piercing the silence.

A long sword of light. And with eyes shining like a beast.

Now it’s my turn.

Flynn pushed the sword to the maximum level into the dwarven treasured sword in his hand. Her arms were trembling involuntarily.

Time was running out, but Damian was walking slowly.

It was like saying it would take less than a minute to deal with Flynn.

He shouted loudly to hide his fear.

“Damn it, come, come!”

The human figure moved and the sword of light cut through the air in an oblique line from bottom to top.

Soon after, light flashed from that trajectory, and dazzling sword waves rushed in.

ssssss

The sword wave immediately passed Flynn’s left arm with a gap of a span. The flying sword wave hit the shallowly stacked dirt walls of the arena and exploded.

The conversation went cold.

‘Did I miss it?’

Soon after, a light flashed and another wave of swords rushed toward Flynn.

It was so fast that I couldn’t even react.

And that sword wave deviated to Flynn’s right by a narrow margin.

Flynn finally realized. The reason why the sword wave missed him.

Because he’s blocking the flag in front of Damian.

‘If I don’t get out of the way, I will die.’

These two sword strikes are a warning to Flynn.

No, it was more like a joke.

Flynn was furious.

If you get out of here just because you don’t want to die, it will be the biggest disgrace since you took up the sword.

Damian’s sword flashed several times. Soon the light dimmed slightly.

Following that, the magic pressure that had been suppressing Flynn became much weaker.

It was evident that he was getting tired, perhaps because he wrote sword waves at random.

‘I don’t know what it is, but my strength is running out.’

I never meant to get out of here.

Damian spurred on and began to run towards Flynn, as if he had an intuition that he would not get out of the way.

30 seconds left.

Flynn gritted it.

“Come, come, come!”

Flynn amplified his sword skills to the maximum and gave him a spirit.

It didn’t matter if I ran out of energy and was confined to bed for several days. I had to use all my strength to make a decision.

Through the dust, the figure of Damian appeared. He leaped with his sword of light.

And Damian immediately slammed his sword down on Flynn’s forehead.

Flynn also swung upward with all his might with the Dwarf’s treasured sword and countered it.

Booung!

The atmosphere at the place where the swords met instantly condensed and exploded, exploding in all directions.

Damian landed on the ground in a sword-to-sword confrontation.

And Flynn, who was pressed by Damian’s weight, slowly raised his body.

Both Flynn and Damian pushed each other’s swords away without taking a step back.

Damian’s sword, which had become translucent, cut through Flynn’s sword and pushed it deeply.

Chick, Chick.

‘Nonsense.’

Soon after, the sword of light tore through Flynn’s blade and entered.

Flynn couldn’t believe it when he saw it with his own eyes.

The Dwarf’s sword, which could cut through steel, was being pushed back.

And both of these things happened unexpectedly.

The runes engraved on the sword gradually overheated.

Soon after, all of the sword energy was sucked into the runes, and the sword itself began to vibrate violently.

Because the blade of the sword was torn, the enchantment within it had a problem.

hard

The unstable dwarven sword finally caused a blue magic explosion.

Perong!

The two were caught in the explosion and tossed away.

Flying like that, Flynn rolled right in front of the flag.

And Damian flew away into the dust.

Flynn got up, hurriedly ran, picked up his sword, and stood alert.

There was no time to check the condition of the sword.

He didn’t let go of his tension and glared fiercely into the dust that Damian had blown away.

20 seconds left.

Damian was nowhere to be seen.

But traces of him could be found.

At the boundary of the dust, the sword of light was scattered on the floor.

The sword blinked with a faint light. He had lost almost all his strength.

Flynn swallowed.

The sword flickered like that several times, and then finally disappeared after a few seconds.

There was still silence in the dust.

‘Finally, is it finally over?’

Flynn’s heart was still beating.

He looked back for a moment.

The flag was half-lying in the aftermath of being caught in the fighting, but was unharmed.

As if the judges had judged that it was over, everyone was walking inside the arena.

10 seconds remaining.

But the examination is over.

Damian would have won if he had landed the sword wave directly at Flynn.

If he accepted it as it was, Flynn would have turned into a smashed Plantera.

But he didn’t.

In any case, Flynn succeeded in stopping Damian.

Flynn, relaxed, finally dropped his sword and sat half-sitting.

He took a deep breath and sighed.

“It’s over.”

And the moment no one expected what would happen.

Something flew through the wind in the dust.

And it passed right past Flynn’s ear.

It was so sudden that he couldn’t react.

By the time Flynn fixed his eyes on something that had flown, it had already rushed to the flag and shattered the flagpole with a crackle.

What flew out of the dust was Plantera’s wooden sword.

Damian was aiming for an opportunity until the end.

“this… … what… .”

Shocked by this, Flynn couldn’t finish talking.

Flynn froze, unable to blink, his eyes fixed on the broken flagpole.

The world was silent as if time had stopped.

The dust began to settle gradually over time.

And in the arena that became a mess, the shattered Planteras gradually appeared.

Damian lay unconscious in the center.
