Chapter 2: Chapter 1:
"Huuh?"
"I said if you ain't lendin' me money, then no date today."
There was a thuggish male student with dark eyebrows blocking the door to prevent female students from entering. That female student is Momo Ayase, a bold, confident, and fierce young girl and take no bullshits from others. Unlike her sister, Jin is a cold and indifferent person, but gets back to business.
Momo's boyfriend continues to insists her for money so they can continue dating. He walked around Momo and spoke with a threatening and contemptuous expression.
"Oh, but I'd be okay if you finally put out instead" He spoke vaguely as his perverted gaze scanned Momo's entire body and stopped at her short uniform skirt, causing Momo to sigh in annoyance. He adjusted the waistband of his pants to give more clues to his perverted intentions. "You'll pay for the love hotel though."
Momo didn't explain anything further, but dropped her bag on the ground with a loud thud and launched a powerful left round kick, aiming at her pervert boyfriend's face.
THUD!
WHOOOSE!
"Whoa!" But unfortunately, the perverted male student still blocked Momo's kick, he quickly pushed her legs away. He then caught Momo's right punch again.
"You need to be punched!" Momo lost her temper when angered and she was about to continue to attack according to her reason when that bastard mercilessly kicked her in the stomach while cursing at her.
"Why you little...." He kicked Momo so hard that she flew away and fell on the sidewalk in pain.
POWW!
THUDD!!
"You're full of it!" After the merciless kick in the stomach of the younger girl, he had no regrets or anything. He continuously berated Momo, who was helplessly glaring at him on the ground. After throwing tantrum on the poor girl's head, he put his hands in his pockets and turned around to leave. "I've had enough of you!"
He still didn't know that Momo wasn't looking at him but at the person who was preparing to attack him from behind with a punch to the bridge of his nose as soon as he turned around. He staggered to the ground as he was punched so hard that his brain was shaking violently in his skull.
"Yo, grab someone your size to throw down." It was a deep voice coming from behind, the person stepped back and raised a finger and wiggled it, taunting the thug. A Sukeban, with long white hair, Jin Ayase, Momo's older sister. She had a bored face and round crimson-colored sunglasses, with a lollipop in her mouth. Her entire body exudes only the word "Dope", a genuine deliquent, silent but deadly. "C'mon stand up, I'll be your sparring buddy."
"Kick the bucket, bitch!!" Momo's thug boyfriend held his bleeding nose and ran away into the school, leaving Jin and Momo outside the school gate, looking at his cowardly back. "Weirdo bitches!"
"Hope ya choke on that crap you spew." Jin rolled her eyes, sighed dejectedly and bent down to scoop up Momo's bag and throw it over her shoulder. "It's mad hot out here and we ain't got all day. Don't wanna get our butts busted again, ya feel me?"
"You could give me a hand...." Jin left and go inside without saying another word, she was like that and Momo knew it so she didn't want to bicker any more. Momo pouted her lips and stood up, brushing the dirt from the thug's earlier kick from her clothes. She sighed and walked in, looking at her sister's back, wondering if Jin would ever leave her comfort zone. But she bet Jin would also feel uncomfortable fighting with those E cup breasts, right?
—
Knock.... Knock....
"Yo, your big sis just popped up, Momo!" Some of Momo's friends shook her when they saw Jin standing outside the classroom door, waiting for Momo to go eat with her. Jin crossed his arms looking at her and raised one of her eyebrows with an expression of "You still wanna roll with me or nah?"
Momo was still whiny and reluctantly dragged herself out of her beloved classroom. She held onto Jin's arm and let her sister pull her away. Fortunately, Jin was used to this scene so she still nonchalantly dragged Momo through the rows of classrooms while Momo was still whining.
"Big sis J~ Please comfort meee~ He was my first boyfriend~~" Momo grabbed Jin's hand and swung it back and forth to attract Jin's attention, but she still insisted on pulling Momo away. After a while, Jin sighed and gave Momo a painful slap on the forehead to wake her airhead sister from falling in love at school. Especially thugs who don't respect women. "OW! What was that for!?"
"Momo, why you so dumb when you hangin' with them lowlife goons? Love got your head all messed up?" Jin took the lollipop and pulled it out of her mouth, pointing at Momo with it. She crossed her arms and leaned against a nearby wall pillar.
"First of all, i'm not dumb! Second, well.... His face looked like Takakura Ken. I like stern, musculine guys like Takakura Ken!!" Momo suddenly became excited and determined as soon as she mentioned the type of guy she liked. Then she sulked and grumbled in her throat when she couldn't find anyone she wanted. "Guess I'll never able to meet a guy like Ken-san..."
"Dudes like those are sooo yesterday." Jin rolled her eyes and sighed once again, the bickering sounds of the male students in the class across from them attracting her and Momo's attention. They all tilted their heads that way and they saw a male student wearing big round glasses, typical of nerds, having papers thrown at him by other students.
Jin rolled her eyes and sighed once again, the bickering sounds of the male students in the class across from them attracting her and Momo's attention. They all tilted their heads that way and they saw a male student wearing big round glasses, typical of nerds, having papers thrown at him by other students. The boy just looked at the other students and, unconcerned, continued reading his book.
Jin and Momo looked at each other after discovering that the other male students intended to play dirty by putting a large magnet in a pile of crumpled paper to throw at the head of the boy wearing glasses. They decided to intervene in this bullying, Momo quickly walked into his classroom and sat in front of him.
The other students were about to throw the magnet at the male student but suddenly stopped when they saw Momo and Jin staring into their eyes, clearly they were pissed off.
"Yo, what ya readin', bro? Some dusty fanfic comic or what?"
"Oh? Uh, um...." He couldn't express some words, clearly didn't know what was happening.
Jin pulled a chair next to the male student's desk and she sat on it, facing the opposite direction from him. Her feet were placed on the closet at the back of the classroom and she leaned back to sit. She grabbed the book and read it for a while. This is all about UFOs and other rumors about aliens. Jin wasn't very interested so she threw the book for Momo to grab. She leaned her chair and body back, her eyes looked over the whole class and she crossed her arms, sighing because she was so bored. "Tch... A whole squad of wimps...."
"How lame. Nee-chan, let's go" Momo skimmed through the book that Jin threw to her. When the other students stopped bullying the male student, she read the book again and returned it to the male student. She stood up and pulled Jin along with her, constantly grumbling about what happened today. "Do only scum live in this world?"
"Man, I've had enough. Where can I relieve all this stress?"
"Just snagged a spot at a cafe downtown, wanna hit it up later?" Jin ignored what Momo just said and scrolled through social media on her phone. After surfing for a while, she showed Momo the cafe that had just opened.
"Nee-chan! Did you just hear what I said--"
"Miss Jin Ayase and Momo Ayase! I know you guys are in love!" Jin tilted his head to look at the male student wearing round glasses from before, standing next to them and speaking like a robot. They all had puzzled and uncomfortable faces because they didn't understand what he was talking about. "I know you guys are in love!"
"How many times you gonna say that?" Momo said with a bored expression as she looked at him. Jin rolled her eyes and tapped her temple with his index finger, saying "That kid is not normal" and sighed again. Why did she encounter such strange things today?
"Someone like Miss Ayase talking to me? That's gotta be the only reason!"
"Maybe you got the wrong idea? It's not like I wanna get chummy with you or anything." Momo replied with an indifferent and slightly annoyed expression. "Forget all that earlier."
"This is what I'm talking about!" The male student excitedly opened a page of a magazine with a man's face on it and other headlines like astronauts going to Mars for the first time. There are images of airplanes, satellites or aliens printed on it. "The President has already gone to Mars! What is the entirety of Project Pegasus!?"
"That is mega... Whack..." Jin raised an eyebrow, muttered under her breath and then nonchalantly used her phone and took a photo of the magazine page then continued using it to text her friends.
"Huh? What?"
"You're a fan of occult!" The boy said excitedly while continuing to hold the magazine and show it to Momo and Jin. But he still kept his head turned back so Jin didn't know if he had bone problems or not.
"Oh, I don't believe in UFOs or aliens or stuff like that." Momo shrugged off that problem immediately.
"I'm not talking about a UFO, but a UAP!" That student did not continue to give up but continued to talk excitedly to Momo. He turned to another magazine page and explained the words that Momo and Jin looked dumbfounded because they did not understand. " Unidentified Aerial Phenomena!"
"Hey, you're being a nest." Momo said helplessly as she heard nonsense stories about UFOs, which even Jin didn't believe in.
"The U.S military has officially acknowledged the existence of UAPs and reformed the Space Force!" The other student didn't care about what Momo said, he turned to another page to explain and summarize the content and then continued to turn to a new page. "Japan has also newly created an Aerospace Defense Force! Anyway you look at it, they're getting ready for Space Wars!"
"Let's bounce, Momo" Jin took out another lollipop from her uniform skirt pocket and popped it inside her mouth, when she was no longer interested in these things. But she is still wondering if the fact that she has unusually colored hair and stronger health than normal people has something to do with spirituality.
"Aight, let'go to the coffee that you recommened." Momo took out her phone and searched for the cafe that Jin suggested to go there to relax.
"Wait.... No, wait!" The male student was a bit shocked when the two of them ignored him, but he still steadfastly turned the book and continued to show them the pictures inside. "This has the newest image of Nessie, too. Here!"
"It also talks about Lieutenant Colonel Jim Channon and Skinwalker Ranch!" Until the male student angered Momo because he talked too much, she got angry and threw the student's magazine away.
"You screwed, dude...." Jin was halfway up the stairs when she stopped and raised one of her eyebrows as she watched what was about to happen.
"Shut up! I just got dumped so I don't want any of this." Momo got irritated and told everything that was on her mind and didn't hold back anymore. "How you push stuff at me is so typical of otaku and really annoying!"
"That's why you have no friends!" Momo's last sentence made Jin whistle long because it was so fatal, even the other student widened his eyes and froze, unable to say a word. After that verbal slap, he was gasping and was so shocked that he absent-mindedly dropped the magazine when Momo turned and left. "Don't talk to me like you know me."
"Woa.... I didn't know you were that icy, Momo." When she saw Momo stop dead on her track, Jin's mischievousness arose and she couldn't help but tease Momo to shame her sister for outburst on that unfortunate student. "For real, you gonna bouncin' or what?"
"Nee-chan, shut it" Momo replied in a grumbling tone and smacked her sister's shoulder to make her stop teasing Momo. Guilt filled Momo's stomach like she had just eaten an unsuitable dish, causing her to sigh and turn around to walk towards the male student. "Sorry, that was a bit much. "
"Here." Momo squatted down to pick up the magazine and dusted it properly before handing it out to the male student. "I don't believe in aliens. But I do believe in ghosts."
"Oh no, there's no such thing as ghosts." The male student immediately changed his mood from gloomy to slightly mocking and teasing. He smirked and chuckled when he heard Momo believed in spirituality more than science.
"Pfft..." Jin had a little trouble holding back her laughter as she turned away to laughed quietly.
"I matched the conversation topic to yours, but you outright deny that!?" Momo felt offended and disapointed that she dropped the his book on the ground.
"Don't mock the occult!"
"Just so you know, my grandma is a spirit medium." Both of them gritted their teeth as they glared at each other but Momo stopped and stood up straight, she looked at the male student with a serious expression as she pointed at her. She spoke proudly to prove that ghosts are real. "Have you ever seen exorcism? It's really wicked!"
"The possessed person goes into convulsions!"
"You can go into convulsions from illness, too." Then Momo did some weird things just to scare the male student but he didn't seem to mind at all and instead calmly read his magazine. The other male student interjects with his opinion as he flips open his magazine and shows Momo the evidence. "It's not proof that ghosts are out there."
"Then have you ever had an alien let you ride a UFO!?" Momo yelled and grabbed the male student and pulled him closer while he hid behind his magazine.
"Your logic is jumping too far! Are you an idiot!?"
"How about throw down a contest. You peeps gotta show that the other dude's thoughts are whack, and only score when one of ya bites the dust, ya feel?" The two of them continued bickering and fighting over the magazine, then after Jin laughed her ass off done she stepped right into the middle of the fight between Momo and the male student.
"Nee-chan! Shouldn't you be on your sister's side!?" Momo whine and pointed at the male student. "Why'd you on his side!?"
"Hell nah, I don't believe in these craps." Jin smirked smugly as she shrugged off Momo's complaint. She crossed her arms and looked back and forth between Momo and Ken. "So, what's the deal?"
"Fine, I'll show you UFOs, I mean, UAPS! If you're able to see one, M-Miss Momo Ayase, you'll be my gofer!" Ken frowned and spoke firmly to Momo as they continued their glaring battle.
"And if there really ghosts, you'll be serving me as a gofer instead!" Momo was not far behind and responded aggressively to Ken with a determination to defeat him by any means.
—
Place: Nagi General Hospital
"What is this place? It's way too scary!" In one hand Momo held her phone with the phone screen for Ken, whom she named Occult-kun, in the other hand she held a flashlight to illuminate this dark and old place. Everything looked like it had been abandoned for a long time, causing dust to fly thickly in the air whenever she shined the flashlight. "What part of this is a UFO hotspot?"
"BOO!" Jin held a flashlight from behind and shined it on the ceiling while she put her face in the light to scare her little sister who was afraid of ghosts. She also let out a giggle that was scarier than a real ghost and almost made Momo's soul leave her body.
"AAAAAAH! Nee-chan! Stop doing that!" Momo screamed in horror as she was scared by Jin like that, then her sister still giggled and walked forward leisurely as if nothing had happened. She wondered if Jin was the type of person who watched horror movies just to sleep better?
"Come on, Momo. What ya waiting for?" Jin shined her flashlight forward to clear a path for Momo, the place was full of dirty and sharp things that made her have to be careful with every step. She grumbled as she pushed the fallen lights and objects blocking her way out. "I just know that you're more likely to faint from fear of ghosts than from aliens, Momo."
"S-shut up, nee-chan.... This place creeping me...." Momo quickly grabbed Jin's cardigan sleeve and hid behind her.
"Nagi Hospital there is called the sanctuary for UFOs!" Ken responded through the phone call from the other side, seeming very excited to talk about his favorite topic. "If you call for a UFO on the roof, you will experience Abduction!"
"What's Abduction?" Even though Momo was still a little shaky and stuttering out of fear, out of curiosity she decided to continue walking with Jin. And Jin still with her impassive face, shined her light on the surrounding rooms to find his way until they reached the end of the hall and found a staircase leading upstairs.
"That's when an alien kidnaps you and experiments with your body."
"Ew, I ain't tryna get chopped up by a bunch of...beings out of Earths, ugh..." Jin muttered under her breath and frowned in disgust at the thought of aliens dissecting her just to examine her and put her body parts into research jars. It gave her chills to the spine and gave her goosebumps as she shivered to shrug off those thoughts.
"Yeah.... Wait, hold on! Have you been experimented on before!?" Momo agrees with Jin but then panics when she hears Ken explain what "Abduction" means.
"There is a chance that I have!"
"What, dude?/ Huh?" Both Momo and Jin exclaimed at the same time when they heard Ken's reply, they turned to look at each other and gulped as they continued to listen to Ken's gruesome explanation.
"Many people who experience Abduction have their memories erased."
"Dude, you ain't ever peeped a UFO, huh?" Jin spoke into Momo's phone as she raised her eyebrows in suspicion at Ken's silence.
"Well..... Do you guys know about regressive hypnosis?"
"Hey, don't change the subject on us." Momo continued to reply in a bored tone as she and Jin continued to explore the abandoned hospital. She smacked Jin's hand every time her sister tried to pick something up out of curiosity.
"It's not an issue of whether or not you've seen one! The point is whether or not there's proper proof that it exists!" Ken countered with logic even though they both knew it was a blunt argument.
"Shut up! Anyway, how are things on your end?"
"I have arrived." Under the dark night and only the flickering moonlight to light up, Ken went to the place that Momo suggested, saying it was haunted. The place is full of vines and long abandoned things that give off ominous sounds with unfinished constructions and decomposing animal carcasses. Ken stood in front of a no trespassing sign in front of a pitch black traffic tunnel that seemed to have no bottom.
"Now, I'll go and prove it right now." Ken shined his light into the tunnel and looked around nervously but then he frowned with determination to prove Momo wrong. Ken shined his flashlight into the tunnel and looked around nervously but then he frowned with determination to prove Momo wrong. But not even a few seconds later he acted like a robot reluctantly walking to the gap in the barrier to go inside. "that there are no such things as ghosts!"
"Hey, you aren't freaking out are you? By the way, that spot is famous on the 'net for something definitely being there." Right after Momo made a sarcastic and mocking retching noise at Ken, he made a mocking retching noise in response to Momo's provocation. But he suddenly realized that there was a whistling sound coming from the tunnel and the sense of dread welled up inside him as all his senses were telling him to leave.
"Too shy, shy bot, in this moment!" Ken started singing nonsense to ease the fear in his mind as he started to step into the tunnel to explore.
"They say speaking loudly is the most dangerous thing to do."
"Too shy, shy boy...."
"On the 'net..."
"You've been mentioning the 'net a lot. So have you seen a ghost, Miss Ayase?" Ken realized that Momo's words had a loophole so he took advantage of it to talk back to Momo but what he didn't expect was that both of them answered frankly.
"Nope."
"What? How dare you talk so authoritatively earlier!" Ken dragged out his words as if complaining about them picking on him and spoke as loudly as he could so he wouldn't feel lonely and scared.
"Ehe.... Our bad!" Momo scratched her head and spoke awkwardly while Ken could hear Jin giggling as their plan to tease Ken was a complete success. Momo held her phone away from her ear as she guessed that Ken would yell about picking on him.
"Take back that attitude you've been giving me! It's absurd that you've never seen a ghost but believe in them!"
"It's not absurd. I told you our grandma's a spirit medium." Momo and Jin continued to explore the abandoned rooms as Momo talked about their family making Jin pause. Her eyes were solemn with a spark of sorrow as she held hatred for their parents. "And we both love our grandma a lot since we don't have parents."
"So I see...."
"Why are you getting all meek and stuff? Get a load of this." Momo sighed when she heard Ken's hesitant voice over the phone, guessing that he was a bit guilty for bringing up their sensitive topic but she quickly relieved him, the last sentence she whispered to Ken to lighten their mood. "My family is seriously weird, even my nee-chan."
"I can heard that."
"Pffft.... But she is still your only siblings right?"
"Yeah, but enough with her. Back then, we always had to perform a good luck ritual before stepping outside. We always forced to do it the entire way to school until Jin gave up before me."
"And of course, I was the laughingstock of all the boys and nee-chan always stand up for me. If I don't do it, Grandma got pissed. It was the pits."
"But the toughest part of it all.... was when the boy I liked made fun of me. I really hated my grandma. 'Because of that weird ritual, the boy I like hates me.' I think I said something horrible like that to Grandma."
Memories flashed back to when they were in a moment of sulking when they said something bad to their grandmother, Jin ran away from home to live alone and study with work at the same time, even Momo moved out to live with her sister, leaving their grandmother alone. Thinking back, every time Jin sent money to their grandmother, she sent it back to Jin with extra pocket money for them. That tormented Jin every night.
"Since then, we didn't talk to Grandma until recently and I stopped doing the ritual." Momo's slender fingers lightly traced the wall as memories flooded her mind, she stared at the some empty space ahead. "But you know, I get pissed when someone else make fun of my family."
"That's when I realized.... I didn't hate the fact that the boy I liked didn't like me. I hated the fact that the boy I liked made fun of my grandma."
"In reality, we both love Grandma and her job as a spirit medium, because it felt special. How she decided to take us in and lovingly raised us all by herself. We have faith in my grandma."
"That's why I believe in ghosts, as for Jin, when she said she didn't believe in ghosts, she was lying. She just didn't want to admit how much she believed in our grandma." Momo nudged Jin's shoulder as she always knew what was on Jin's mind about their grandma. Jin just helplessly rolled her eyes and put her hands up in surrender as she was caught red-handed. "So anyway, why do you believe in aliens?"
"Huh.... That really doesn't matter, right?"
"What's with that? You don't have any reasons?" Momo, now that she had finished talking to ease her mind, bravely stepped forward to lead the way for Jin, but at this moment Jin felt something different from before. It was as if everything in this place were staring at them, she paused for a moment as she pondered whether or not to tell Momo. She decided not to because it was only a few times that Momo would get close to someone and Jin didn't want to ruin Momo's comfort zone.
"Do you need a reason to like something?" On Ken's side, he continued to explore the tunnel and shined his light on everything around him. He discovered that there were red blood stains that looked like someone's feet running on the wall, but he didn't pay much attention to it, just thought that it seemed like it had been there before.
"Well, you have a point. More like, Occult-kun, you sure talk bluntly over the phone." Momo and Jin continued to walk through the abandoned hospital rooms, not noticing that the moonlight shining in from outside the window was flickering erratically.
"I-Is that so?" Ken continued talking on the phone as he walked, he now noticed something unusual when he shined his light from afar where the blood red footprints seemed to be walking towards him until the last step stopped in front of him. "Both two Miss Ayase are pretty easy to talk to..."
Ken felt like someone was standing behind him making his hair stand on end and immediately turned around and used his flashlight to shine, there was nothing but pitch black darkness covering the tunnel.
He exhaled when there was no one, maybe it was his mind playing tricks on him so he slowly turned around and was about to continue walking when he saw a strange old woman with reddish brown wrinkled skin and long thick white shaggy hair facing Ken. Her eyes were big and round like a glowing light bulb and were stuck looked to the sides
"I'll let you suckle my teats, so...." She smacked her lips like an old woman with a toothless mouth except she had teeth! Her wide eyes with a yellow sclera rolled around in no particular direction before she stared at Ken to continue her vulgar speech. "lemme gobble that weenie."
CLINK!
"GHOST!!" Ken panicked and dropped his flashlight on the ground with a loud clatter as he ran away to save himself first while he screamed when he first saw the ghost.
"Hold on! You shouldn't run there!" Momo said in panic over the phone from the other end of the line, trying to keep Ken from doing anything bad to offend the ghost. "Hey, Occult-kun!"
"No way! Impossible! That was just an ordinary granny!" Ken ignored Momo's warnings and continued running towards the tunnel exit. The phone's signal seemed to be disrupted by something, causing Momo's panicked voice to be cut off several times. "That's probably it. Just an ordinary granny!"
"Oc....kun... Stop right now! They say on the 'net that she's the bad news!"
"I'm pretty sure I misunderstood something. I simply bumped into a lewd granny!" Ken kept screaming into the phone in panic, and at the same time he was losing his mind as he was overcome by fear that overcame logic. The more he ran, the further away the exit seemed to be until it was only a pea. The tunnel seemed to have been lit up with an ominous red light, which only added to Ken's panic.
"They say you can't let her outrun you at any cost! If you lose a race against Turbo Granny, you'll be cursed!" The old hag looked at Ken for a long time as he ran away to create an illusion that he could win, then she suddenly took long strides and ran at a speed like an F1 racing car on the ceiling, quickly catching up with Ken in a moment.
"Hey, Occult-kun! Are you listening?" Momo was also panicking at this moment when she heard Ken's scream coming from the other end of the line, the color of the call screen suddenly turned blood red with glitched lines. Ken's scream gradually became distorted and then his voice disappeared completely and the call was no longer there. "You're kidding me, right? We'll head over there right now! Just hang on!"
"Welp, he's screwed. Let's bounce, Momo. I ain't chillin' here for even a sec in this whack spot that's straight outta a scary flick." Jin muttered and started to turn back to find a way out of this place. Jin muttered and started to turn back to find a way out of this place. But suddenly the moonlight outside the hospital suddenly turned off like a light bulb, that's when Jin realized that they were screwed too.
"Uh oh... looks like we're totally toast too."
Momo and Jin both watched as the lights went out and as they reached the end of the hall, they saw three figures standing next to each other, causing them to look at each other and swallow nervously.
"What are those things? Seriously, cut it out." They only knew that at this moment they were all thinking the same thing. RUN! Immediately their bodies reacted in fear and turned around to run away immediately. But unfortunately they grabbed Momo first with terrifying speed or because their arms were too long and made her faint. Next Jin was grabbed and they injected some kind of drug into her body that made her whole body cold as ice and her strength was drained causing her to collapse to the ground exhausted.
"Momo...." In the most dangerous moment, she always thought of her sister and reached out in despair to hold Momo's hand but life is not like in Disney, darkness has descended before her eyes and stopped her from moving anymore. Just because of a silly contest, she pushed Momo and her friend into a dangerous situation that made her hate herself...
What could she do when she woke up to save them? Or rather, would she become something inhuman and harm them?
