Chapter 101 – Riveria Date 01.
[Chapter Size: 1700 Words.]
Third Person POV
Orario.
...
...
The conversation between Lucius and Ouranos, filled with considerations and future plans, was nearing its end. The final words of the god still resonated in the room when Lucius made a move to leave, his posture calm and decided.
"Lucius..." Ouranos called him once more, stopping him in his path. Lucius turned back one last time to the god.
"Be aware, you have awakened much more than the curiosity of Orario," Ouranos warned with a grave expression. "Your deeds have echoed beyond the walls of this city, attracting unwanted attention."
Lucius, with a resigned sigh, acknowledged the reality of Ouranos's words. "Then my family will finally know about my actions..." He murmured, a touch of concern in his voice.
Ouranos, watching Lucius attentively, replied, "Yes, it's possible."
Lucius looked at Ouranos and spoke, "But tell me, if such confrontation occurs, if you need to face them, how should the guild position itself?"
Ouranos, his expression becoming serious, "If it comes to that, the guild will stand by your side. However, you will have our support only as long as all laws are followed and the city's stability isn't violated." He spoke, and Lucius understood.
"And even if that woman comes to Orario?" Lucius raised an important question, for he had doubts whether Ouranos would even have the authority to deal with that woman.
"Even if she sets foot in Orario, she might have some power over the gods in the sky, but I am the one who looks after this city..." Ouranos spoke in a tone deeper than Lucius was used to hearing.
"That's reassuring," Lucius responded with a slight nod, knowing he could handle his biological family and the goddess in the empire should they come after him.
And with those words, Lucius bowed respectfully to Ouranos and turned to leave. Fels accompanied Lucius to the exit. The silence between them was something that dominated the pair until the exit.
Lucius, with a touch of his usual provocation, looked at Fels as they walked side by side. "You're not much for talking, are you? Even after living so many years..." His voice was filled with playful curiosity but also a slight respect for the enigmatic figure by his side.
"..." Fels, wrapped in his mysterious robes, remained silent, a contrast to Lucius's vibrant personality.
Lucius, slightly impatient, murmured, "At least respond to people..." His provocation was light.
It was then that Fels, unexpectedly, broke the silence. "Lucius Drakenar... I know you have a quite striking personality, but I want to thank you for what you did with the Xenos."
Lucius, surprised by the sudden change of subject, replied, "It was nothing, Fels. As I already told Ouranos..."
As they stepped outside, Lucius felt the fresh air of the city and, without hesitation, began to use his teleportation to rise above the houses. Floating there, he looked down at the bustling streets and the night lights illuminating the entire city.
Instead of returning to Heimdall's mansion, Lucius decided to pay a visit to an old friend. "I'm going to visit Demeter," he said to himself as he positioned himself above the city. With a thought, he teleported quickly, moving over Orario towards the house of the Goddess Demeter.
His arrival was quick and silent, landing softly at the window, he peeked inside, seeing Demeter alone in her bed. "Let's wake her up and see if she will receive a visit from a friend..." Lucius murmured, a smile playing on his lips as he prepared to surprise this woman.
Lucius left Demeter's house at dawn, sliding like a shadow among the first lights of the day. He left before the members of the goddess's family began their daily activities, thus avoiding questions and curious glances. His departure was as discreet as his arrival.
When he arrived at Heimdall's mansion, the smell of breakfast invaded his senses, his family members cast questioning glances, but Lucius just smiled, joining them for the first meal and then heading straight to the main office with Hestia. The goddess, always attentive, noticed something different in his posture.
"What? These beings exist?" Hestia exclaimed, surprise and confusion evident in her voice as Lucius began to explain about the Xenos. He had received permission from Ouranos to entrust Hestia with this secret, a decision that was not taken lightly.
"Yes, and that's exactly what I told you happened in the dungeon. Ouranos called me for this and forgave my 1 million debt with the guild. But returning to the xenos, if it wasn't for a Xeno named Lyd, I would be dead, facing that monster called Juggernaut that the dungeon reproduced," Lucius explained with a seriousness he rarely showed. Hestia, still processing the information, nodded, understanding the importance of what was being shared.
"I see. I will keep the secret about their existence, but it's hard to believe that the dungeon is creating such complex beings..." Hestia murmured, still trying to understand how the dungeon could create monsters that act like humans.
Lucius, with a calm confidence, assured her, "I know it's hard to believe, but they are trustworthy, I'm sure I won't be the only one to interact with them from our family." The conversation continued with Lucius and his goddess discussing many other topics. As soon as he left the office and went to the library to read some books from the old mansion he lived in before the war game. Some time later, he was approached by Cassandra who entered the library, announcing that Riveria was at the gate. Lucius, surprised by the unexpected visit, used his teleport to go out and meet her.
The sudden appearance of Lucius took Riveria by surprise, but her expression maintained the usual elven composure. "Riveria? What brings you here?" Lucius asked with an intrigued smile, ready for another unpredictable day in the life of an adventurer in Orario.
"Hello, Lucius," she said in her usual tone and continued. "I came to congratulate you. And also to deliver some books to you, if you still want to be my student, although you showed great strength in the war game," she asked.
"I never said I wouldn't be, but now that you're here, are you very busy today?" Lucius ignored Riveria's bag of books and raised another question that came to his mind; he wanted to enjoy another day like yesterday, without bothering to get strong, with a possible war nearby; he just wanted to enjoy another day.
"I... Nothing too important... why?" Riveria asked with a somewhat suspicious look.
"That's good, how about we study these books somewhere else?" Lucius proposed.
"What do you mean?" Riveria still looked at him with narrowed eyes for what Lucius was proposing.
Lucius, with a mischievous smile, took a step forward and, before Riveria could react, he grabbed her by the waist and activated his teleport. In the blink of an eye, they were floating in the air above Orario, with the city spreading below them in a splendid mosaic of light and color.
Riveria, completely taken by surprise, let out an involuntary scream. "Lucius Drakenar!" she exclaimed, her voice mixing shock and a hint of irritation. "What do you think you're doing?!"
Lucius laughed, the thrill of the moment filling him with mischievous energy. "I'm just adding a little excitement to our study," he said, holding her firmly in his arms to ensure she was safe. "You have to admit, the view from here is amazing."
Riveria, looking at him like a hawk a bit red with what Lucius had just done, she was thinking whether she would cast a spell on this man or not for his audacity. "Don't look at me like that, instead, look around," Lucius spoke, and she finally looked around and saw the city from a height of 500 meters, although initially surprised, she couldn't deny the beauty of the panorama unfolding before her eyes. Orario was stunning from above that morning, and the sensation of floating in the air was undeniably thrilling. She sighed, a mix of resignation and admiration in her voice. "Yes, it's a wonderful view. But it wasn't necessary to scare me like that and touch me like this; I know we've danced together before, but you can't approach an elf like this." She reprimanded him despite her gaze still on the city.
Lucius gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry if I scared you, Riveria. I couldn't resist the opportunity. But now, have you ever flown in your life? It's a very pleasant sensation, isn't it?" Lucius asked with a smile.
Riveria looked at him, her gaze softening and even turning a bit red. She knew Lucius's impulsive and bold nature and, although it sometimes frustrated her, she also appreciated his free spirit and the way he challenged expectations. "It's a really good feeling," she finally spoke, "But that doesn't mean I've forgiven you for this."
Lucius laughed. "I promise to take that into consideration," he said, while Lucius kept Riveria safe in his arms, they hovered at an impressive 600 meters above the ground. The city of Orario stretched majestically below them.
"Lucius," she began, her voice revealing a trace of apprehension mixed with curiosity, "what exactly are you planning? This is a considerable height, despite the novel sensation, what do you want to do?"
Lucius, feeling Riveria's tension begin to ease, decided it was time to reveal the true reason behind his surprise flight. "Riveria, I brought you here because I want to show you something, a place that I think you'll find interesting. But I need to know... do you trust me? I intend to fly out of the city and show you a specific place." His gaze was serious, but there was a warmth in it that sought to convey security and comfort.
Riveria, still a bit uncertain but intrigued by the proposition, met Lucius's eyes. There was a sincerity in them that made her feel more at ease. "It seems I don't have much choice, so yes, I will trust you." Her response was shy and Lucius broke into a smile.
Lucius smiled, pleased with the response. "Great! Then hold on, because our next destination is a place that I think will surprise you." With a nod, he activated his teleport again, and in an instant, they disappeared from the sky above Orario.
