Danmachi – Infinite Mana System

 

[I wrote this chapter and it totaled 3600 words, so I decided to split it into two.]

Third Person POV
Orario.

Lucius, hovering above the battlefield, becomes the epicenter of a whirlwind of action and power. With surprising calm and his eyes shining as if his aura was activated, he watches the adventurers trying to stop him trying to reach him in the air. In the blink of an eye, he teleports leaving these few adventurers behind and appears in the heart of chaos. Everyone looks at Lucius appearing in the midst of the few adventurers who immediately noticed him with his silent teleport. 

A group of warriors, with swords raised and shields ready, surround him on all sides. But before they can attack, Lucius triggers Chrono Stasis, and suddenly they are suspended in the air, their expressions frozen in a mix of anger and fear. With a smooth movement of his hand, Lucius sweeps them away like the others in the blink of an eye. 

As more attacks come his way, Lucius uses Float to rise above them, watching with keen eyes as he deflects and traps their attacks, sending them back. 

*BOOOOOM!* 

"It's useless! Our attacks don't work against him!" says one of the level 3 remnants. 

"Can we handle this Lotas...?" someone asked their captain. 

"We can't just give up, we must stop this damn thing!" Loras growls. 

"Leave it to me! Alo Zephiros!!" Hyakinthos, someone who returned to combat and is fighting with the Heimdall family, casts his magic on Lucius, the bright circle flies toward him, which with one motion stops it inside a sphere of time. With another move, Lucius sends it directly to Hyakinthos who receives the attack. 

*BOOM!* 

Hyakinthos manages to jump in time, even being slightly hit by the explosion. 

"Hello Hyakinthos, my old friend." A voice sounded behind Hyakinthos and before he could react, Lucius kicked him in the back making him fly with his level 4 adventurer strength. People around immediately try to advance against Lucius, but he uses teleport to easily dodge everything. 

'Definitely, I feel like the mage king, the only magic missing in this combo is flying, but Lucius didn't care having his teleport and his ability to float.' Lucius thinks with satisfaction and looks at the few enemies left. 

'Anyway, I'm satisfied with this battle, they couldn't even touch me. They are not a juggernaut, so it's easy to deal with them...' He finishes his thought and looks at his ex-family, who growls seeing Lucius being so arrogant and powerful. 

The narrator of the Ganesha Family, with a vibrant and admiring voice, does not miss a moment of the epic battle. "Citizens of Orario, noble spectators, we are witnessing a spectacle of magic and skills unprecedented! Lucius, the prominent mage of the Hestia Family is not only using magic but also striking his opponents with his combination of magic!" 

He continues, increasing the intensity with each word, "Just look! In the blink of an eye, he moves like a ghost through the battlefield!" However, despite the narrator's words, the silence that has fallen over the spectators is palpable. There was no more hesitation when Bell and the others were facing the Apollo family. They watch, mesmerized by Lucius's display of unlimited power, stopping attacks, making opponents simply disappear, turning any attack they launch at him back to those who launched it, flying, and even using the rare space magic while he teleports from one side to the other in milliseconds as if he's playing with his opponents. Many wonder if what they're seeing is real, if a single man can really possess so much power.

Mages are usually a class with high destructive power but are weak in a fight with close-range opponents, however, it doesn't seem to apply to Lucius, besides being able to move away whenever he wants, with his strange instant teleport magic, Lucius used his brute strength to knock down level 3 adventurers with ease, and his strength combined with his space magic, he becomes something deadly even among hundreds of adventurers, so Lucius was becoming something extraordinary in the minds of all witnesses.

And as Lucius continues to dominate the fight, it becomes clear that this would be a moment that will be remembered and retold for years to come. Lucius, one adventurer against 100 enemies, became Lucius, the arrogant, but also indomitable, a wizard whose name will be whispered with admiration and respect in the streets of Orario for many years. Even the perception of the mage class will be slightly or quite changed in people's eyes after this day.

The battle is a chaos of color and movement, the few adventurers who survived against Lucius, are always one step ahead, a ghost among the adventurers. He moves with deadly elegance, each spell and movement perfectly orchestrated to cause maximum effect. The adventurers try to surround him, but he is like the wind, always out of reach, always unpredictable.

The remnants of the Heimdall Family and the Apollo Family are in a state of shock and despair as they face Lucius. Besides their attacks having no effect, they know that as soon as Lucius casts his magic, no one can stop him, the mage from the Hestia family in front of them seemed to be playing with all of them, as Lucius seemed to be playing with them.

The explosions continued inside the castle, making it shake and be destroyed in various places.

*BOOM!*

"This..." Bell Cranel spoke from outside, his companions were already conscious at this moment and he looked at the trembling wall outside wondering what was happening and how Lucius was dealing with all those adventurers.

"Mr. Cranel. What should we do?" Ryuu spoke beside him, she was the only one in better condition all the time, but she decided to stay there with Bell and the others after Lucius teleported them to the outside.

"Lucius finally appeared..." Welf commented, looking with admiration at the explosions happening.

"Lucius..." Mikoto murmured.

"..." Lili was silent, still trying to understand the situation and still feeling her injuries.

"Let's take the healing potions, we must see what the situation is, we can't let Lucius fight them alone." Bell spoke firmly, having no idea how Lucius was handling the situation with ease. As soon as they improved with Miach's potions, they advanced through the opening created by Ryuu at the beginning of the fight.

Bell Cranel, the other members of the Hestia Family, and Ryuu arrive panting at the edge of the battlefield, their expressions of concern quickly giving way to incredulity and shock. They stop abruptly, their eyes wide as they witness the scene before them.

The battlefield is chaotic, with signs of destruction in all directions. The ground is furrowed with marks of powerful spells, and defeated adventurers are scattered on the ground like leaves after a storm. In the center of it all, floating above the chaos calmly and unscathed while all the other enemy adventurers were injured, they were wondering if what they were seeing was real.

"How is this possible?" Bell, with his keen adventurer instinct, immediately feels the magnitude of the power that Lucius emanates, he murmurs, his voice laden with astonishment and a tinge of reluctant admiration.

'How did he become so strong, I thought I was becoming stronger, but Lucius is still 2 or 3 steps ahead...' He says more as admiration than a feeling of envy.

Welf, beside Bell, clenches his fist around his sword, his eyes scanning the battlefield for any sign that they can help. "Is this... this is Lucius's doing?" he asks, his voice almost lost in the wind blowing over the destroyed field.

Lili, with wide eyes and hands trembling slightly, watches the spheres of Chrono Chaos exploding around the remaining adventurers as they tried to escape the explosions. "I've never seen anything like this," she whispers, a mix of fear and fascination in her gaze. "Lucius is fighting like a mage from ancient legends."

Ryuu, always calm and controlled, has an expression of deep concern. "He is powerful," she says, "He wasn't like this the last time I saw him... What happened, what are these magics that even I don't understand?" She whispers, questioning. Time magic was an unexplored field in this world, so it was normal for people not to recognize what they are.

The members of the Hestia Family stand there, on the edge of the battlefield, watching a display of power that defies everything they knew about magic and combat. They see Lucius, a man facing an entire family of adventurers, moving with grace and strength that seem almost surreal.

On the screens of Mama Mia's tavern, the regular customers are in an atypical silence, their eyes fixed on the screen showing the battlefield. "Can you believe this?" whispers one of the waitresses, the tray forgotten in her hands. "Lucius against so many... And he still seems to be handling them like children." Mama Mia watches with a rare expression of surprise and respect. "This boy really knows how to surprise, his fighting style, magic, and how he can execute it so instantaneously, is something I've never seen before," she comments, her gaze fixed on the screen.

In the streets and squares, citizens begin to come out of their initial shock, sharing theories and impressions. "He must have trained in secret for years to achieve such power," speculates a man. "Did he find some ancient magic or lost artifact?" asks another, the imagination running wild with the possibilities. "A mage shouldn't fight like this, this guy breaks all the rules..." another comments. "Now I believe that miracles exist," an adventurer replied. "He self-proclaimed as the future mage king, who can question that after today?" another said with a solemn look.

At the headquarters of the Loki Family, Riveria and her companions watch with a mix of admiration and concern. "I've never seen anyone control the battlefield like this, he changed his fighting style to something even more powerful than it was, and it's only been a week..." Riveria says, her voice trying to remain calm, but her eyes revealing her inner unrest. Riveria looks back at the screen with a thoughtful expression. "Such magical skill is not achieved overnight. He is an enigma..."

Finn, the leader, stands with his arms crossed, his expression serious. "This kind of power... it can change the balance in Orario. We need to understand who Lucius is and what he really wants." Finn might seem overly cautious here, but he has the responsibility of caring for his family, he needs to understand future threats, as Lucius is not from his family, even with relationships with some members of his family, he could be an enemy they will have to deal with in the future.
