Chapter 97 – New Home 01.
[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Orario.
...
...
The day after the euphoric celebration, the city of Orario begins to return to its normal routine, but people only talked about yesterday's event as the day began in Orario. Hestia is in her new mansion — previously owned by the Apollo Family and now a symbol of her family's newly acquired success and power with the war game.
With a pen and parchment in hand, Hestia is busy inventorying the rewards acquired from the victory in the War Game. The Apollo mansion, now hers, is just the beginning. The equally imposing and valuable Heimdall mansion has also come into her hands, along with the treasures and assets accumulated by both families. When adding it all up, the amount reaches an impressive 30 million valis — a fortune that will provide her family with better resources in the future.
But the most significant prize for Hestia isn't measured in gold or properties. As part of the conditions established by Lucius before the War Game, Cassandra and even Daphne, valued members of the Apollo Family, are destined to join the Hestia Family. Hestia feels a mix of satisfaction and responsibility when thinking about these new additions. "Cassandra, Daphne, you will be welcomed here," she murmurs, thinking about how to help them transition and ensure they feel part of her family.
As she reflects on the recent events and the future, the door opens, and Cassandra enters, her expression a mix of nervousness and hope. Hestia stands up, welcoming her with a warm smile. "Cassandra-kun, come in. I will be your new goddess, it's time to put my falna on you."
Cassandra, still adjusting to the sudden change in her life, responds with a soft voice, "Thank you, Lady Hestia. I... I don't know what to say."
Hestia approaches, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You don't need to say anything. We know it's been hard for you, but here, you are one of us. We will take care of you."
Daphne, who hesitated at the entrance, finally steps forward, preparing to take off her shirt and receive the blood of her new goddess. "Thank you, Lady Hestia."
Hestia smiles and looks at Daphne. "You too, Daphne, you are part of this family now, be welcomed!"
"Thank you, Hestia-Sama." Daphne nodded.
After applying the new falnas to the two new intriguing members of the family, the day progresses. There's much to be done with all the new properties, but with the newly acquired resources and support, the Hestia Family is stronger and more united than ever. After resolving the financial issues and welcoming the new members, Hestia decides to temporarily settle with the family in the Heimdall mansion, a place that, despite its qualities, doesn't completely match her preferences. She has in mind the Apollo mansion, a larger and more imposing space, which, with some modifications, could become the perfect location for the family, but the place was heavily damaged by Lucius when he attacked the Apollo family one day after the banquet, causing great confusion.
The Apollo mansion also carries with it the extravagant marks of its former owner. Every corner is filled with statues and images of the god Apollo, creating an environment that feels more like a shrine than a house. Lucius, determined to make the space something of his and his family's, decides that it's time for a radical change.
Joining him, members of the Hestia Family arm themselves with brooms, cloths, and buckets, ready for a major clean-up to tidy up the place while members of a construction company would make repairs to the damaged structure. However, Lucius has faster and more efficient plans in mind. With a focused look, he summons his time magic, an ability that allows him to manipulate objects with precision and ease trapped in his spheres.
With a gesture, he begins teleporting the statues out of the mansion, one by one, creating a spectacle for anyone watching. The statues, once motionless and proud, now disappear in the blink of an eye, leaving behind empty spaces ready to be filled with new furniture for the house.
Once outside, Lucius doesn't waste time. Concentrating, he conjures powerful fire explosions, a demonstration of strength and magic that lights up the sky. The statues of Apollo, once symbols of the god and his family, are destroyed in a series of spectacular detonations, each disappearing in a cloud of dust and debris.
The noise and light from the explosions quickly attract the attention of the city. Curious and concerned residents step out of their homes, looking towards the Apollo mansion. Rumors begin to spread, and soon enough, a member of the Ganesh family comes to find out what was happening, but it was resolved with a conversation, as the adventurer turned into a fan of Lucius.
After the dramatic cleanup and destruction of the statues at the Apollo mansion, Lucius and the other members of the Hestia Family head to the Heimdall mansion to temporarily settle. The Heimdall mansion, although not the permanent place Lucius desires, offers the necessary comfort and security while they await the finalization of the repairs on the Apollo mansion in the coming weeks.
Hestia and Lucius, along with Bell, Welf, Lili, Mikoto, Cassandra, and Daphne, begin to organize their quarters in the Heimdall mansion. They distribute rooms, "It won't be for long," Lucius comments, looking around the living room where they had gathered. "Once the Apollo mansion is ready, we can start transforming it into what we want it to be."
Bell nods, clearly excited at the prospect. "It's going to be amazing! We can have a training room, and maybe even a library to study magic and skills."
Welf, who is checking his weapons and equipment, adds, "And a proper space to work on my forging. That's going to help a lot."
The others nodded, imagining what they could do in the mansion. Lucius, while settling in the Heimdall mansion, decides to take advantage of the moment of tranquility to refine and delve deeper into his magical abilities. Among his various skills, he is particularly interested in the spell that allows expanding the power of his summons, especially his faithful goblin, Riekling.
In a spacious area of the mansion, where he is sure he will have privacy and space to practice, Lucius calls Riekling. The little goblin follows him with his usual "HEEE", looking at Lucius with curious and expectant eyes.
Lucius looks at the goblin and performs the Support Type Spell/Evolve Invocation/Rank 4 spell, he points to the curious Riekling and performs the spell with a chant of a few dozen words.
"O ancient forces that weave fate, hear my call,
Under the moon, under the star, let this goblin not be small,
By the magic that flows in my veins, by the power that reigns in my heart,
I evoke the wind, the earth, the fire, the water, for this evolution to start.
With Riekling by my side, strong and loyal,
I ask to grow, to change, to become something unequal.
By the words of this chant, by the desire of my being,
Let the goblin transform, and his true power come to flourish.
Let the whisper of the wind give him speed,
Let the firmness of the earth grant him stability.
Let the burning fire in his spirit ignite,
And let the flowing water always mend his strength.
Support Type Spell, Evolve Invocation, Rank 4,
Now I manifest the power that I will anchor in you,
Riekling, my ally, at this hour of change,
Accept my magic, and reveal your new prowess."
As he finished, Riekling began to glow, the goblin also begins to change, his form twisting and growing. The process is quick but clearly profound. When the light dissipates, Riekling is no longer the same. Instead of the small goblin from before, there's now a creature that resembles Dobby from Harry Potter — bigger, with large and expressive eyes, and a more upright and intelligent posture.
Lucius watches with a mix of surprise and satisfaction. "Riekling?" he calls, curious to see if the transformation affected more than just appearance.
To the delight and amusement of everyone, Riekling responds with a high-pitched but clearly articulated voice, "Master Lucius! Riekling evolved, yes!" The usual "HEEE" has disappeared, replaced by real words and clear consciousness. Lucius smiles in surprise, delighted with the success. "This is amazing, Riekling. You can talk now. How do you feel?"
Riekling looks at his own hands, turning them over and examining his new form. "Riekling feels... Riekling feels different. More... more Riekling!" He swings his arms and jumps a bit, testing his new agility.
The other members of the Hestia Family, drawn by the magical energy and sounds, enter the room. They stop, surprised to see Riekling's new form. "Lucius, what happened to Riekling?" Bell asks, his eyes wide with surprise.
"I used magic to evolve his summoning. It seems to have worked better than I expected," Lucius explains, his tone full of pride and a hint of amusement.
Riekling, enjoying the attention, takes a few hesitant steps and then, with growing confidence, begins to explore the room, speaking and interacting with the others in a way he never could before. "Riekling happy! Riekling wants to help!" he exclaims, running back and forth with renewed energy.
Lili smiles, approaching cautiously. "Hi, Riekling. You're very different now." She extends her hand, and Riekling, curiously, lightly touches her fingers.
"Riekling likes Lili. Lili friend," Riekling responds, his voice still a bit high-pitched, but clearly emotional about the interaction.
Mikoto, observing closely, comments, "This is fascinating. Your evolution has not only changed your appearance but also your communication ability. Lucius, you really did an incredible feat."
Welf, with a warm smile, kneels next to Riekling. "Hey, buddy. It looks like you've become quite the adventurer now."
"Riekling adventurer!" Riekling responds, beating his chest with pride. "Riekling protect family now!"
Hestia, who had been observing everything with a maternal smile, approaches and caresses Riekling's head. "You've always been part of the family, Riekling. We are happy that you are growing and becoming even stronger."
Lucius, absorbed in his thoughts, ignored everyone around him while interacting with the new Riekling, now displaying a more entertaining form. He pondered recent events, the war that had ended, and the implications for his future. "Despite everything that happened, it's a pity that I didn't gain experience points with the war," he comments to himself. "My system only compensates me for facing monsters and overcoming challenges within the dungeon."
"Lucius? Are you okay..." Hestia approaches, looking at her son with some concern, noticing his pensive expression.
"I'm just thinking, Goddess Hestia. Nothing you need to worry about..." Lucius responded, trying to keep his concerns to himself. Hestia frowned but still nodded, understanding that Lucius needed his space to process his thoughts.
But within Lucius, concerns were bubbling. 'One war is over, but I feel it's just the beginning. There are always disputes and fights for power,' he thinks, looking out the window at the city outside. 'I still have to act against some families that have debts with us, like those damn monster hunters hiding in the secret passage. I must start acting against them, after all, they attacked my family.' Lucius reflected on future actions.
Standing up, he walked to the window and, as he approached, murmured: "I will act in the shadows, like a vigilante. Orario needs someone to do things that no one else can. Evilus hasn't been eradicated, and there are many of them out there, so I will act against them and clean up this city."
"Like a Sith Lord, I will do it," Lucius commented calmly.
