Chapter 99 – Ouranos 01.

[Chapter Size: 1700 Words.]
Third Person POV
Orario.

...

...

When the time comes to leave, Lucius gets ready, prepared for his meeting with Ouranos. The sun was already beginning to set, tinting the sky with orange and purple, creating a tranquil and reflective atmosphere.

The members of the Hestia Family were gathered in the room as he passed by them.

"You're going to the guild now, Lucius, be careful and don't cause any trouble!" Hestia practically pleads with her reckless son.

"Nothing much will happen, it will just be a simple conversation, Goddess Hestia," Lucius says calmly.

"Are you sure?" She looks at him suspiciously.

"Of course, want proof?" Lucius says and looks towards Cassandra on one side of the room next to her friend.

"Tell me, Cassandra, have you dreamed that something bad is going to happen?" He asks directly, the girl, quite surprised by the approach, quickly shakes her head denying.

"See, everything will be fine." Lucius laughs.

"What was that, you still haven't explained how your predictions work," Hestia murmurs.

"Later I will explain to everyone, because even Cassandra can't explain it and as no one believes her, I will detail her ability," Lucius concludes.

Riekling appears next to Lucius, now more eloquent and aware, also says goodbye.

"Riekling waits for Lucius. Riekling wishes luck!"

"Thank you, Riekling. I will return soon."

Bell, Welf, Lili, Mikoto, Daphne, and Cassandra wave to Lucius before he leaves the house.

He starts walking towards the gate of the Heimdall mansion, Lucius looks at the busy streets.

'I'm still a hot topic in this city, if I go out like this, I won't be able to take 3 steps without being approached by curious inhabitants,' Lucius thought, this is one of the downsides after becoming famous. Not just for the war game but the news of his ability to reach level 3 so quickly, surpassing even the feat of Bell, the "Little Rookie", made him a legend in Orario. Everyone in the city is eager to see the man who defied expectations and emerged as a hero in a very unlikely war game.

So, to avoid the crowds and unwanted attention, he chooses to float, before leaving the gate, he starts to rise to the sky slowly, once he was 100 meters from the ground, he decides to teleport, using his magical abilities to move discreetly and at high speed, towards the tower of babel. The city stretches below him, a mosaic of lights, sounds, and activity, but he remains distant and disconnected, a shadow silently passing over it.

With one last teleport, Lucius arrives at his destination. He lands gently near the entrance of the Guild, the seat of power and order in the city. As night falls over the city of Orario, the Guild, normally a place of frenetic and noisy activity, begins to calm down. Tired employees finish their tasks, preparing for the end of another long day. However, the calm is abruptly interrupted by an unexpected event.

In the grand hall of the Guild, where the soft light of torches illuminates the tall pillars and marble floor, a sudden disturbance occurs in the air. In an instant, Lucius appears in the middle of the hall, teleporting directly to the heart of the building. His arrival does not go unnoticed by those within the place as his cloak flutters a little with his movement magic.

The employees who were still working stop what they are doing and look, surprised and stunned, they immediately recognize who he is – Lucius, the adventurer who became a living legend on the streets of Orario, the man who defied and won against the Apollo and Heimdall families, and now calls himself the Mage King. Murmurs and exclamations fill the air as people begin to whisper to each other, pointing and looking at Lucius with a mix of admiration, curiosity, and a touch of fear.

Lucius, in turn, maintains a confident and calm posture. He is aware of the gazes and whispers, but his attention is focused on doing what he came here to do. That initially is to see the chief of the Guild.

As Lucius advances through the Guild hall, a figure approaches him, Rose, the red-haired wolf woman.

"Lucius!" she calls, she approaches him.

Lucius stops and turns to her, a slight smile appearing on his face as he sees his reliable advisor. "Rose," he responds, "It's been a while, how are things?"

"I just wanted to congratulate you personally for your triumph in the War Game. You did something impossible, and we all witnessed it. Eina is also happy that you helped Bell and his family."

"Well... that's what I should do as a family member..." Lucius stated the obvious.

"Yes, come see me, you disappear for weeks without any contact, I, as your advisor, need to know where you're getting into lately," she spoke with a bit of reproof in her tone, Lucius nodded calmly.

After saying goodbye to Rose, he would continue his path to meet her superior, however, his conversation is interrupted by the arrival of a scowling figure.

Royman Mardeel, the arrogant elf and head of the guild, appears before them. His posture is imposing, and his expression is controlled, but there is a hint of caution in his eyes. The reputation and power of Lucius are no secrets to him, especially after the recent display in the War Game, and his previous interactions with Lucius have made him well aware of the kind of man he's facing. The generally arrogant elf was threatened by this mage in their last encounter, it wasn't a very pleasant experience for him.

"Lucius Drakenar," Royman begins, his voice firm but with a slight tremor that suggests his hesitation, "I was informed of your arrival. I have important matters and wish to speak with you. Please, follow me."

"Sure, Royman. Let's not make your superiors wait," responds Lucius, he leaves Rose after a nod and follows the elf.

Royman nods, clearly relieved that Lucius agreed to follow without confrontation. He turns and begins to guide Lucius through the corridors of the Guild, toward his personal office.

Finally, they arrive, Royman pauses, looking at Lucius, "I must bid you farewell. You may enter."

Lucius, surprised by the elf's sudden departure, enters the door nonetheless. The place is the same as the last time Lucius met Rayman, but not as destroyed as he left it. Inside, there was a figure looking out the window at that moment.

Fels, covered in his robes that hide his true form, greets Lucius with a voice that seems to echo with ancient echoes. "Lucius, I've heard much about you and your remarkable deeds. Your achievements in the War Game were impressive. Congratulations."

Lucius smiles. "Thank you, Fels. I'm honored to receive your recognition, as you are such an ancient mage."

Fels, with a nod, continues. "Ouranos has expressed a particular interest in meeting you."

"I figured as much, is this about the xenos, isn't it?" Lucius wanted to make it clear that he wasn't unaware of everything, as this could be suspicious.

"Yes, the xenos are an existence that no one would be aware of except a few selected people, so we were surprised when we discovered that you already had a friendship with one of them, and even more surprised when you convinced them to fight alongside against a Juggernaut," Fels spoke.

"Well, it was that or die. Do you have any idea how that damn thing nearly killed me..." Lucius was still upset about that monster appearing after he exploded just a few things during his fight in the coliseum.

Fels nods, pleased with Lucius's response. "Excellent. Follow me, then. Ouranos is waiting in his chamber. You can fly, can't you?"

"Yes. Show me the way." Lucius comments and sees Fels levitate and exit through the window.

Lucius followed him; it seems it would not be through the guild's entrance. Fels leads him to another nearby entrance. As they arrived in a secluded part of the city, Fels opens an entrance in the ground, and they follow an ancient corridor. The atmosphere becomes denser and charged with an ancient energy as they approach Ouranos's domain.

Finally, they arrive at Ouranos's chamber. Fels pauses at the entrance, turning to Lucius. "We are arriving."

The chamber of Ouranos is imposing, a vast room adorned with ancient symbols and imagery. In the center, an elevated throne dominates the space, and seated on it is Ouranos, a figure of authority and majesty. Even seated, he emanates a presence that fills the room, his imposing aura and penetrating gaze.

Lucius approaches, his posture confident yet respectful. He stops at an appropriate distance from the throne and makes a ceremonial bow. "God Ouranos," he begins, his voice clear and firm. "I am Lucius Drakenar, or Ranekard as you prefer, and I am here to answer your call."

Ouranos observes Lucius, his eyes seeming to see beyond what is merely visible, probing the depths of his soul and essence. "Lucius Ranekard," he responds, his voice resonating with the weight of centuries; he spoke Lucius's true name, as it was not a secret between them. "You have achieved notable feats. Your strength and magic, along with your announcement of level increase, have shaken the structures of this city. I have been watching you for a long time and knew I was not mistaken in your potential, although I find your path a bit reckless," he spoke.

"That is a surprise to me, but I doubt there are many things that pass without the god who has been overseeing the dungeon for a thousand years noticing in this city," Lucius speaks calmly, as Fels goes to Ouranos's side.

"Well, now let's talk because I called you here," Ouranos speaks, and they were ready to start the real conversation.

Thus, Lucius and Ouranos remain facing each other before the next words, this conversation would initiate a series of events that would change Orario in the coming weeks, a change initiated there, where no one in the city was aware that important decisions were being made.
