Chapter - Entering the Academy - Part 2

According to the regulations set by the Sun and Moon Federation, elementary and intermediate academies had free tuition and were compulsory. The elementary academy was three years long, and the intermediate academy was also three years long. There were several ways to enter an advanced academy: outstanding achievements, paying an exceedingly expensive tuition, or entering an academy of science and specialising in a field of study.

Tang Ziran accompanied the kids to the academy gates. After making sure the registration of Na'er and Vincent, he left for his work. Tang Ziran repeatedly urged the kids to return home directly after school. The Soul Master class specially had a teacher at the front door to welcome the new students. Clearly, they were treated much better than ordinary students. The ordinary class would receive a normal cultural education while the Soul Master class would also learn how to use their Innate soul power to become Soul Masters. They would also be taught knowledge essential to Soul Masters along with preparation to enter an intermediate academy.

There were about 15 students in the Soul Master class along with Vincent. All the other students had already displayed their martial soul and boasted about its characteristics on the previous day. Due to the trash martial soul of Tang Yang, none of the other students paid any attention to him as they began forming their groups. Only Vincent was sitting beside him. The door slid open, and a lady in her thirties entered the class.

"Hi everyone. As you already know, I'm your homeroom teacher, Ximeng. Today, our topic is the secondary profession and its importance. Before we began the topic, I wanted the new student to introduce himself. Tell me your name, martial soul, and innate soul power rank."

Vincent rises up from his seat, there was an air of maturity around him that the other students lack. He began his introduction,

"My name is Vincent, and I'm twelve years old ... My martial soul is shadow mould ... "

Vincent rises his right hand as strands of black threads appear out. The teacher was shocked to see that Vincent was able to control the shape and size of the black threads; moreover, these threads were in a partial solid state. Thus, the state of the black coloured substance can also be controlled on the will of its user. The other children couldn't help but get startled. They never heard about this martial soul, and so they didn't know whether its a good martial soul or a bad one. Vincent continued his introduction, " ... my Innate soul power rank is B category."

He sat down as the teacher nodded in response. Tang Yang's depression gradually faded away as he came to know that he obtained a friend as well as a brother. His curiosity towards Vincent increased a bit.

Vincent noticed that Tang Yang was clearly unhappy as they walked out of the Red Mountain Academy's gates along with Na'er. He could tell that something had dampened Yang's expectations.

Na'er asked with concern. She had become more open than before. "What happened? Is everything alright?"

Tang Yang came out from his daze and replied with a blush. He can not act like a depressed person in front of his little sister."No, everything is fine ... a-anyway, Vincent! What do you think about the secondary profession we should take."

Vincent remained silent for a while before replying in his usual calm tone,

"Your strength is greater than your peers ... So, I suggest that we should take the profession of blacksmith. It'll be more advantageous for us."

Right at that moment, many young delinquents surrounded them. Na'er avoided their eyes and hid behind Vincent, who was still calm at this moment.

The delinquents shot looks to one another before one of them called out, "Silver hair is really rare! I reckon the black market dealers will really like her silver hair and purple eyes ... you two, if you run away, then we might spare your life, or else!"

"What do you think you are doing, you villains!" Tang Yang said as he was consumed by anger. He subconsciously activated his martial soul, no way he could let them touch his little sister. Not on his watch. He'll not going to run, only cowards run and hesitate. And he is not a coward.

As they saw that they were soul masters than their expressions became sore and cruel. A youngster in the back came forward and raised his left leg to kick Tang Yang. "Brat, you dare to meddle with us."

The kick was too fast for Tang Yang to dough. But it never hit him. Vincent had caught the leg with ease with his left hand. His expressions were calm and cold.

"Fuck off if you don't want to die!"

A cold light flickered from Vincent's right hand and a sword appeared in his right hand. After that, Vincent fought with his black sword. It was a one-sided battle. None of them were able to touch him and the other two kids. Also, none of them were able to escape as well. The movement, speed, and swordsmanship of Vincent were on a completely different level. He was a different person now. His sword was always present where it meant to be. He defeated them in a matter of seconds without breaking a sweat. It felt like this battle was effortless and unworthy of his calibre. He even didn't use his martial soul.

Vincent didn't kill them, but he injured them enough to leave a deep impression of him. All of them were blanked out on the street. There bodies and clothes were filled with numerous cuts and bruises. The black sword disappeared with a flash of cold light.

"Let's go."
