Chapter 59: Metallo Attack Supergirl, Coward Only Attacks The Weak.
The flickering neon lights of Gotham's streets cast long shadows as Batman and Constantine entered one of Batman's hidden safehouses, tucked away in the industrial district. The space was minimalist but well-equipped—a combination of high-tech surveillance equipment, medical supplies, and emergency weapons.
Constantine glanced around, taking in the sterile surroundings. "You've got a real knack for home decor, mate. Ever thought about a splash of color?"
Batman ignored him, his cowl still concealing his expression. He turned to the computer console, typing rapidly to bring up data on recent demonic activity. The screen displayed maps of Gotham with clusters of disturbances highlighted in red.
"This isn't a random incident," Batman said, his gravelly voice cutting through the silence. "The attacks are coordinated. Someone—or something—is directing these entities."
Constantine leaned against a table, lighting a cigarette despite the no-smoking sign prominently displayed on the wall. "No surprise there, Bats. Hell's a hierarchical place, same as up here. If a door's been opened, you can bet your utility belt some prince of hell's pulling the strings."
Batman turned, his gaze intense. "How do we stop it?"
Constantine exhaled a plume of smoke, shrugging casually. "Well, that depends on how much you're willing to spend."
Batman's eyes narrowed. "This isn't a business transaction."
"Everything's a business transaction, mate," Constantine replied, his smirk infuriatingly calm. "You want me to risk my neck closing a door to hell? You hire me. Otherwise, feel free to play whack-a-demon all over Gotham until the big bad shows up and turns this city into a smoking crater."
Batman crossed his arms. "You'd let people die over money?"
Constantine chuckled, shaking his head. "It's not about the cash, mate. It's about knowing you're committed. You might be the Dark Knight and all, but this isn't your usual rogue's gallery. These aren't criminals in masks—they're demons. You need me, and I need to know you're all in."
Batman stared at him, calculating. Constantine had a point, and as much as he disliked relying on someone so morally ambiguous, there was no denying the man's expertise.
"Fine," Batman said, his voice low but resolute. "You're hired."
Constantine clapped his hands together, his grin widening. "Now we're talking! Right, first order of business—find out who opened the door and why. And while we're at it, I'll need some supplies. Holy water, enchanted artifacts, maybe a decent bottle of whiskey."
Batman's glare was unwavering. "Focus."
"Alright, alright," Constantine said, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "But don't say I didn't warn you—this is going to get messy. Hope that fancy cape of yours doubles as a mop, You are going to need it to clean up Gotham when we are done."

The sun had just begun to set over Metropolis, casting a golden glow across the skyline. It was the perfect time for a heist—especially one that could potentially lead to the most dangerous of advantages. A small but noticeable robbery was taking place at a local bank, a classic tactic to draw out Superman. But the man of steel never showed up. Instead, a white-clad figure descended from the sky, his cape billowing behind him. Ethan, the mysterious figure known to the public as the Man in White, was the one who had arrived.
Metallo stood, watching his plan unravel. He had calculated that Superman would show up to foil his little heist, but instead, he found himself facing someone entirely different—someone who was not Kryptonian and who, to Metallo's surprise, was not intimidated by his presence.
Metallo had been engineered to be the perfect weapon against Superman. His metallic frame was reinforced with Kryptonite, designed specifically to exploit Superman's one weakness. The plan had been simple: create a diversion in the form of a bank robbery to lure the Man of Steel into the open. But Ethan was far from just another man. Metallo's Kryptonite-powered weaponry had no effect on Ethan, and the sheer strength of his blows was enough to immediately signal that this would not be a straightforward fight.
Metallo charged, his fists powered by the Kryptonite energy embedded in his chest. Each punch hit with the force of a wrecking ball, but Ethan dodged and countered with ease. The fight was fierce, with Metallo relentlessly using his Kryptonite beams to attempt to subdue Ethan. But unlike Superman, Ethan was not vulnerable to the green glow of Kryptonite.
Ethan blocked a punch with his left arm, the force pushing him back a few feet, but his footing was solid. He lashed out with a series of precise strikes that rocked Metallo's mechanical frame, sending sparks flying.
Metallo, furious, attempted to charge again, but Ethan was faster. With a swift twist, Ethan threw Metallo to the ground, cracking the pavement beneath the cyborg's massive weight.
But Metallo was no slouch. He quickly recovered, rising with renewed ferocity, and before Ethan could react, he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a device—one that would make even Ethan pause.
It was a bomb, shaped like a small plate-likely C4, He threw it towards the crowd.
Ethan see this flew towards the bomb, he caught it before it could land, and covered it with his body.
The bomb exploded, but no one was injured.
Ethan turned to check Metallo and discovered he had seized an hostage.
A woman, one of the bank employees, screamed as she was dragged forward, her arm held in Metallo's vice-like grip.
Ethan's expression hardened, but he didn't move. He studied the situation carefully. The woman was terrified, but alive. In Metallo's eyes, Ethan could see the cold calculation—the cyborg's only remaining option was to threaten the innocent.
Ethan took a slow, deliberate step forward.
Metallo growled in frustration, his grip tightening on the woman's throat. The tension in the air was palpable, but Ethan knew that Metallo could not afford to kill the woman; doing so would serve no purpose.
Ethan adjusted his stance, keeping his distance, and with one last calculated move, he disarmed Metallo. The hostage, now free, ran towards safety.
Before Metallo could react, Ethan delivered a crushing blow, knocking the cyborg back. Metallo stumbled and, realizing that he was defeated once again, turned to flee. In a final act of desperation, he used his jets to launch himself into the sky, Ethan leaped to pursue him but Metallo cunningly threw a couple of explosives into the crowd, Ethan had no choice but to retrieve them, allowing Metallo the opportunity to escape.
Metallo's metallic frame faded into the sky, his mechanical systems whirring as he sought refuge. This encounter had been a failure, but it was far from over. Somewhere, behind the scenes, Letitia Luthor was still pulling the strings.
As Metallo soared away, he heard Letitia's voice crackling through his comms. "You failed," she said, the disappointment in her tone evident. "But there's still a chance to recover. Go to National City. There's another Kryptonian there. Supergirl."
People gathered around the man in white (Ethan, he has no superhero name yet), thanking him profusely. They were amazed.

In the bustling streets of National City, Kara Zor-El, known to the world as Supergirl, soared through the skies. She had become a symbol of hope in the city, but she still considered herself a fledgling heroine, learning her craft and growing into her immense powers. The day seemed peaceful until her super-hearing caught the distant sounds of chaos—a metallic roar, panicked screams, and a voice that bellowed with cruel intent.
Metallo had arrived.
Metallo, the Kryptonite-powered cyborg, stood in the middle of a demolished street, tossing cars aside like toys. His voice echoed with a metallic rasp as he shouted, "Where are you, Kryptonian? Come face your end!"
Kara didn't hesitate. She flew to the scene, landing with a determined thud that cracked the asphalt beneath her boots. "You're not Superman," Metallo sneered, his glowing Kryptonite core pulsating ominously. "But you'll do."
Without warning, Metallo unleashed a green energy beam from his Kryptonite heart, forcing Supergirl to leap out of the way. The beam seared through a building behind her, leaving a gaping, smoldering hole. Kara retaliated with a blast of her heat vision, which scorched Metallo's metallic frame but left him largely unharmed.
"You think you're as invincible as your cousin?" Metallo taunted, stepping forward. "You have no idea what Kryptonite can do to you."
He charged, his superhuman strength rivaling hers. The clash of their punches sent shockwaves through the street, shattering windows and cracking the ground. Supergirl managed to land a powerful uppercut that staggered Metallo, but he recovered quickly, using his Kryptonite core to emit a radiant pulse of green energy that weakened her instantly.
Kara gasped as the radiation sapped her strength, making her knees buckle. Her vision blurred as she stumbled backward. Metallo seized the opportunity, grabbing her by the throat and slamming her into the side of a building.
"Not so tough now, are you?" Metallo sneered, tightening his grip.
Supergirl struggled to free herself, her strength waning with each second she was exposed to the Kryptonite's lethal glow. She summoned her remaining energy to punch Metallo's arm, denting it slightly but failing to break free. "You won't... win," she gasped, her voice defiant despite her growing weakness.
Metallo grinned, the eerie green light from his core casting sinister shadows on his face. "I don't need to win, girl. I just need what I came for."
With a precise movement, he extended a metallic needle from his arm and plunged it into her shoulder, drawing blood. Kara cried out in pain, her Kryptonian DNA now captured. Satisfied, Metallo tossed her to the ground like a discarded rag doll
Before Metallo could deliver the killing blow, a black helicopter descended rapidly, its floodlights illuminating the battleground. Agents of the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO) emerged, armed with advanced weapons designed for extraterrestrial threats.
"Step away from the Kryptonian!" an agent commanded.
Metallo turned to face them, calculating the odds. Though he was built to withstand Kryptonian power, the DEO's specialized arsenal could cause him significant damage. "This isn't over," he growled, his voice dripping with malice
