Delayed Transfer

The next day Mark decided to return to Earth and deal with the government. His initial plan was to wait after at least a couple of days but he thought that it would be mature of him not to let them wait longer.

After breakfast, he said goodbye to everyone then he went back to Earth. When he arrived there, he asked one of Donald’s men to drive him to the diner that he had gone to before and when he arrived there, he ordered coffee and retrieved his phone from his inventory then waited.

Predictably, Professor Aldrid and Major Dorman arrived within an hour.

“Mr. Baker, you put a lot of people in trouble with your mischief yesterday. Did you know that the government tried their best to detect where you had gone but nobody could find out?” Ms. Aldrid said.

“A lot of them argued that it would be best if we try to get you under our control but a lot of people who witnessed your abilities before fought against that,” Major Dorman said.

“It would be stupid to try something like that. They stupidly thought that a simple tranquilizer or gas attack would let us easily control you,” Professor Aldrid snorted while shaking her head.

“So what’s the government’s decision?” Mark asked.

“We have no choice but to agree to your decision. It wasn’t unreasonable anyway since you’re not demanding anything from us and only asking us to let you give yourself to us once a day every month,” The beautiful professor said.

“It would be best that the first scheduled day to be held soon to pacify people,” Major Dorman advised.

“I’m free today so I can accommodate you today,” Mark said.

Suddenly both Professor Aldrin and Major Dorman whipped out their phones and started calling people.

After around 20 minutes, their calls were completed.

“It’s going to be demonstrations of your skills for the first few hours and then during the latter half of the day would be the healing session,” Major Dorman said and by the look on Professor Aldrin’s face, an agreement was already reached by groups of people.

Mark had a suspicion that Professor Aldrin represented the scientific community and Major Dorman was with the army so he probably represented the military side but of course, he wasn’t truly sure.

Professor Aldrin and Major Dorman invited Mark to accompany them using the vehicle they brought. This time he was led to some sort of scientific research building in a remote suburb area that one could find in any sci-fi film.

After passing through the tight security, he was greeted by a team of scientists together with people from the military and he recognized some of them as the ones who he talked to yesterday.

Someone introduced each one of the people there then one of them gave Mark some sort of thick document and he learned that it was a contract, he was surprised.

“Before I sign this, can I have a lawyer look at it?” Mark asked and he received an affirmative answer from one of the people there.

After that, he was led to a huge demonstration room and saw that on one side of the room, a bunch of doctors or scientists were behind a thick two-way mirror.

Three scientists had microphones in front of them and one of them was Professor Aldrin. During the next couple of hours, he demonstrated a total of three skills which were his Fly, Teleportation, and Telekinesis. He didn’t actually know what the scientists were doing. The only thing he knew was that there were hundreds of cameras in the demo room.

Mark thought that they were probably trying to capture the energies that were being used. The demonstration was boring since he would cast a spell then they would ask him to dismiss then and after a few minutes would ask him to cast the spell again. After several minutes they would move on to the next spell. They only rotated on the three said spells though but based on the expressions on the faces of the scientists, they might have reached some sort of success since they all looked incredibly excited like horny teenagers seeing their first naked woman.

After that, they asked if they could investigate his defenses and since Mark was curious as well, he allowed them to shoot firearms at him. The first thing that he did was to demonstrate casting defensive spells. They tried shooting at his arm using the least powerful guns to the most powerful within limit of course and everyone was surprised at his ability to defend himself from bullets.

Mark tried to remain stoic but he was greatly enlightened. He always wondered how his defenses would compare to cold weapons and due to this investigation he was finally learning a bit about his defense limitations. Of course, his current defenses were not the limit since he did still have a lot of skill points and he could always use those to add points to his defensive spells.

On the military side, every successful defense that he had done from bullets made them have a grimier look. Mark had an inkling that those unhappy people were the ones who had nefarious intentions against him like maybe capturing him so they could control him but based on the results of the current ongoing research, it would be highly difficult for them to try and capture him.

It was good news to Mark since that would persuade the government to maintain an amicable relationship with him.

They then reached the part of the test that Mark found a bit detestable but probably necessary. The retrieval of bodily fluids. They took everything. Some of his hair, a bit of flesh, some blood, urine, and even tears. They even asked him to defecate and masturbate to get samples of his feces and semen but he declined and made an excuse that he would do them at a later schedule.

Mark kept telling himself that he was only allowing these things to be done to him since there was a possibility that it would bring a huge advancement to Earth’s medical research.

During lunchtime, he was joined by Professor Aldrin and Major Dorman and that meant that there were the two people that were probably assigned to deal with him on a personal basis.

After lunch, Mark was led to a room that consisted of sick people. When he entered the room, each one of the sick people inside were old men and women. They were probably the old elite rich politicians but this time, Mark didn’t react too much since he wanted to have a good relationship with the government.

“Am I going to be compensated?” Mark suddenly asked Professor Aldrid and Major Dorman.

“Of course. It’s in the contract that we asked you to sign. The funds will go directly to your account that remained active due to the help of your friends Mr. Donald Dren and Mr. Robert Scott.”

The beautiful professor said but it was also some sort of a reminder that they knew everything about him but to be honest, he was starting to not truly care anymore. During the testing process, there was a feeling that he sold himself. He felt a bit dirty and the idea that he was doing it all for the sake of the advancement of humanity was beginning to get thin.

Mark then cast his Dryad’s Circle spell and everyone was highly surprised at the trees that grew from the ground. The dryad ladies that appeared between the trees were giggling while looking at the old men and women and everyone’s faces had wonder on them including all of the scientists who were observing through the two-way window.
