Delayed Transfer

Mark, Sam, Enleed, Armina, and Blake went to Melona to explore the magical city. They didn’t have any issues at the gate but looking at the huge population entering and exiting the city, it was understandable. The officials guarding the toll booth at the gates looked harassed and Mark smiled when he noticed that most of the people who kept entering and exiting the gates were young people in Star Wars costumes.

His friends shook their heads while smiling when they saw the cosplayers.

“It’s a bit jarring to see the people here wearing Star Wars costumes,” Armina said.

“At least it’s okay since Star Wars consisted of several planets with several species so it’s okay to see a dwarf Jedi or a halfling Sith,” Enleed replied.

“It’s still a bit weird. I expected to see adventurers wearing adventurer clothes like from animes like in Frieren or Delicious in Dungeon not people from Galaxies far far away,” Blake told everyone.

“So where are we going first?” Sam asked.

“I recommend that we visit the guilds! The staple of any fantasy anime. We should visit the adventurer guilds then the mage’s guild and the other guilds,” Mark answered.

“We should enlist as well since we’ll surely get rewards if we subscribe to a gathering quest where the materials would come from the dungeon we’re currently diving,” Enleed advised.

“That’s a good idea!”

They didn’t actually know where the guild buildings were located but they were not in a rush and decided to find the guild themselves by walking around. Mark and his friends spotted huge buildings in the distance and suspected that those were either government buildings or guild buildings so they slowly headed there.

They frequently stopped when they saw a sight they wanted to observe like when they passed through a plaza filled with entertainers like acrobats, dancers, and minstrels. It was unfortunate for the entertainers since according to the onlookers they had overheard, the population of the viewers was only a tenth of what they used to since most of those who frequented this place were currently in the circus.

“I believe the famous minstrel group “The String Drowners” are currently applying to be part of Hamil’s Circus and I heard that they had a good chance to be accepted,” One of the audience said.

“I also overheard that The Dancing Moon Sisters are also applying and since they are all so beautiful I’m sure that they will be accepted as well,” Another one of the onlookers said.

Mark knew that there were a lot of applicants and it was a good thing because it meant that the circus would grow.

After watching the entertainers for a while, they continued walking. They passed through a mysterious alley that had red lanterns installed at the entrance.

“Is that the red light district?” Enleed whispered.

“More than likely. Let’s check it out!”

Surprisingly, it was Armina who made that suggestion. Driven by curiosity, they all entered the alley.

“At least here, you don’t need to be afraid of STDs since most brothels would employ a healer that could detect and heal you of any sexual diseases as part of their package. At least that was what Norunta told me,” Mark told everyone.

“Who’s Norunta?” Blake asked.

“She’s the witch in the circus that acts as the healer and sells potions,” Mark answered.

“Didn’t circuses usually have whores as well?” Enleed suddenly asked.

“We do have them. They’re called the girls and boys of Madam Luzviminda,” Mark said.

“Have you tried anything with them?” Armina curiously asked Mark.

“Eew no! I consider the people in the circus as friends and family so even if they’re the most alluring beauties, I would never think of them that way. Did you know that Milena used to be Madam Luzviminda’s girl? She applied as my cook and now she’s my accountant as well as my cook. She told me that she’s too old to be one of the Madam’s girls.”

“I overheard her telling Danielle and Elizabeth that she’s a hundred and eighty years old! How old is the madam then?” Armina gasped and since Mark didn’t know he just shrugged.

Soon they were inside the red light district and several hauntingly beautiful women of every species called them from the terraces. One thing Mark could say is that they were all extremely gorgeous.

Mark could see Enleed swallowing and he made an almost expected suggestion.

“Let’s stop here for a couple of hours.”

No one answered him and when Mark looked around, Sam, Blake, and Armina were all looking at the houses further down the street and saw an astonishing sight. It was a brothel for women or gay men. It was full of handsome men and there were diverse options. Some looked like your typical brawny bodybuilder but one could see some that looked like a blonde prince. Some looked like a barbarian warrior and some looked like a lean acrobat. That meant that whatever your type was, you could probably find them there.

Mark was surprised to see Sam and Blake looking at each other and as if one could hear their decision, they told Mark that they wanted to stay as well and they headed to the brothel for women and gay men. Armina astonishingly followed them. He was surprised that Sam and Blake could be open in their relationship since he didn’t think that he could do the same.

Mark and Enleed chose to enter one of the houses that was full of beautiful women and suddenly they were surrounded by a sea of beauty.

After a few hours, they met at the entrance of the red light district and they all looked satisfied. Even Armina, who was very red, looked sated.

“That was an interesting experience,” Armina said and Mark saw Sam and Blake nodding.

Enleed still had this dreamy look on his face and Mark was sure that this was not going to be the last time his friends would visit this place.

“Do you remember to have yourselves checked by the healer?” Mark asked everyone and they all just nodded.

It was already night but the city was still bright due to the street lights. The streets were beautiful to look at since the glow from the magic lights had this soft, mysterious shine that electric lights could simply not compare to.

Mark retrieved his phone from his inventory and took some pictures. He asked Enleed to take pictures of him with the street of Melona as his background. Then he took a picture of the whole group using his Telekinesis spell.

Mark’s friends did the same thing, retrieving their phones from somewhere and started taking pictures. The good thing about their current era on Earth was they could post the pictures on their social media and no one would think that the scenery would be an authentic fantasy city. The viewers would probably think that it was green screen magic.

They spent the rest of the evening taking pictures and videos and some of the citizens who were walking by stopped to inquire what they were doing. When Enleed showed a group of young men his smartphone and the pictures and video he took of the streets of Melona, the young people were so fascinated that they suddenly asked if they were from the circus, and when Enleed replied that they were, the young men and women suddenly nodded their head as if they now knew why they had these fascinating devices.
