Chapter 8: Chapter 8: The Tragic Red Dragon Couple (Edited)
"Master Muria, what are these?" Sofia looked uncertainly at the red dragon eggs on the ground.
"Ah, yes, exactly what you're thinking, these six are all red dragon eggs," Muria said with a melancholy expression, "They were a gift from my mother, and now they belong to me."
"Ah!" Hearing Muria's words, head maid Sofia also couldn't help but let out a shocked exclamation.
Muria glanced at the shocked dragonkin head maid, then, seeing her blush and lower her head, he said helplessly, "You also think my mother's actions are unreasonable, right?"
"No." Hearing Muria's words, the head maid firmly retorted, "Lady Artelis is a legendary mage, she must have her reasons for doing this. We just don't understand them."
Muria was surprised by the head maid's attitude, clearly, Sofia had been conquered by his mother's charm, becoming a fanatical admirer.
However, Muria didn't mind Sofia's attitude because it was quite normal. A maid in charge of the internal affairs of the crystal castle naturally needs to ensure loyalty, and nothing is more reassuring to a dragon than a fanatical admirer.
"What really made Muria pay attention was the four words Sofia mentioned: "Legendary mage? Sofia, are you sure you didn't miss a word? It should be 'legendary dragon mage,' right?"
"Correct, Master Muria, you may not know, but disregarding Lady Artelis's golden dragon identity, just her spellcasting ability alone is comparable to that of a legendary mage," Sofia explained earnestly.
Muria was silent, realizing his golden dragon mother's strength was much stronger than he imagined, not just a simple legendary golden dragon.
"The Golden Blaze is a primeval golden dragon in her adulthood, with a body length of nearly a hundred meters. Just in terms of physique, she is definitely legendary. Plus, legendary mage-level spellcasting ability, the combination of the two, sheesh! This is not ordinary monstrous!" Muria seriously calculated, then gasped in shock.
After the shock, Muria was overjoyed, having such a monstrously strong mother, there shouldn't be many in Elasia who dare to mess with him.
At the same time, Muria also understood why Sofia was so steadfastly admiring his mother. Despite her noble lineage, his golden dragon mother didn't just sleep all day waiting for strength to increase; she diligently studied magic, achieving many feats even ancient dragons hadn't, becoming a legendary spellcaster.
Inexplicably, Muria remembered a saying: The scariest thing isn't a genius, but a genius who works harder than you.
After pondering for a while, Muria took the lead in picking up a red dragon egg, followed by Sofia and the four maids, each picking up an egg.
"Hey, hey!" Muria glanced at Sofia and the four above-average looking maids, each holding an egg as tall as them, finding the sight somewhat amusing.
Dragonkin maids, although they look very similar to humans, differ significantly from ordinary humans. They've been influenced by the aura of dragons, causing a leap in their life form, allowing them to easily perform tasks that would be heavy and tiring even for human strongmen.
Just as Muria was about to leave the hall with the maids, planning to bring the six red dragon eggs back to his room, he noticed the two red dragons he had ignored for a long time.
"What should we do with these two red dragons?" Muria gestured towards the red dragons' location and asked Sofia, "Just leave them like this?"
"Where is Lady Artelis?" It was only now that the head maid remembered she hadn't seen her master yet.
"Sleeping." Muria replied irritably.
"Then we can only leave them as they are until Lady Artelis wakes up and deals with them."
"Are you sure?" Muria was somewhat uneasy. These were the red dragons, known as the chiefs of evil dragons, just left unchecked? Who knows when his golden dragon mother will wake up. Dragon and human concepts of time are completely different; who knows how long the golden dragon mother sleeps.
Sofia nodded, so Muria could only reluctantly observe the golden chains on the red dragons, hoping they were sturdy enough to firmly bind the two red dragons. Otherwise, if they woke up and broke free, causing chaos in the castle, it would ultimately wake up his golden dragon mother and be suppressed again.
Muria imagined the worst-case scenario, then stopped worrying. In the end, it wasn't his concern.
"Roar!" Just as Muria stepped out of the hall, a low dragon roar sounded behind him, indicating one of the red dragons had awakened.
Thus, Muria returned to the hall, accustomed to his mother's exaggerated size, seeing the "dwarf" red dragon, about thirty meters long, not very impressive. No matter how fierce its appearance, it was still bound by his golden dragon mother and brought back, so Muria wasn't intimidated.
"Roar!!!" As expected, the first to wake up was the slightly larger red dragon, about thirty-seven meters long, which first felt the restraints on its body, struggled a few times to no avail, the golden chains still firmly binding it, and finally could only angrily roar a few times.
Then, the red dragon trying to free itself became still because it noticed its surroundings. It blankly surveyed everything around, opening and closing its mouth a few times without making a sound.
Wherever the red dragon looked, there were dazzling, eye-blinding colorful crystal lights everywhere, the crystals filled with abundant magic, indicating these weren't ordinary crystal stones but valuable magic crystals.
But how could this be? So many magic crystals, it was as if the world's magic crystals were all piled up in front of it.
"By Tiamat, have I arrived at the great domain of the evil dragon mother?" Facing something beyond its understanding, the evil dragon could only associate it with the evil dragon mother, whom it had barely prayed to a few times.
"Ha, you're not dead yet, why would you go to that deformed old dragon's domain?" Hearing the red dragon's sleep-talking, Muria unceremoniously mocked, fully expressing his disdain for the evil dragon mother.
"Who are you?" Hearing Muria's words, the red dragon was startled, then quickly confirmed it was still alive, and then looked up at the super-sized baby speaking dragon language in front of it.
"What creature are you, a half-dragon? No, there's no half-dragon like you, such a large size, yet still in a baby form." The red dragon seriously thought for a moment, then flared its nostrils, smelling a very familiar scent.
This unforgettable scent, the red dragon swore, it would never forget in its life. So, the red dragon instinctively shrank back and asked Muria in dragon language, "What's your relationship with the Golden Blaze, Artelis?"
Then, the red dragon looked around uneasily, flaring its nostrils, and discovered a very despairing fact. In this crystal building that blinded its eyes, the aura it would never forget filled the air.
"Where is this place?" The uneasy red dragon added another question, though it had roughly guessed the answer.
"My mother, Artelis's castle," Muria said playfully.
"This is the Golden Blaze's lair!" The red dragon was in disbelief. Such a luxurious lair seemed only fitting for a dragon god, not for Artelis, the ancient golden dragon. Even with her monstrous strength, she shouldn't have such a lair.
"Lair, my foot." Muria looked disdainfully at the red dragon, bound like a dead dog, not sparing its dignity. "This is a castle, castle. Did you not hear clearly because your ears are problematic, or is your brain problematic?"
"Roar!" Being kicked by a dragonling golden dragon cub, the red dragon couldn't bear the humiliation. No matter how proud, it started struggling fiercely. As the red dragon moved, the golden chain binding it to the main pillar of the hall and the red dragon itself shone brightly, automatically tightening, firmly binding the red dragon's body, making its actions, aside from startling Muria, utterly meaningless.
"Can't move at all." After retreating a few steps, Muria discovered the golden chain's restraining ability was astonishingly strong, rendering the red dragon incapable of any action other than speaking.
"Good treasure." Muria eyed the golden chain on the dragon, noting its significant spiritual nature, possessing a certain degree of autonomy, reminding him of similar objects in legends from his previous life. Unfortunately, he could only look.
"Even if you're Artelis's offspring, you can't humiliate a powerful red dragon like this." The red dragon, unable to do much, spoke in dragon language with anger.
"Powerful?" Muria glanced at the red dragon, bound like a dead dog, and openly expressed his opinion of the red dragon, "Heh!"
"Hmph!" The red dragon, hearing Muria's mockery, turned its head away and closed its eyes, no longer looking at him.
"What will you do with my children?" The slightly smaller red dragon woke up at some point, its first concern upon waking being the eggs in Muria's and the maids' arms.
Hearing the voice, which had a magnetic quality, clearly belonging to a female dragon, Muria smiled, revealing white teeth, "Your children? No, now they belong to me."
