Chapter 10
The scholar looked down at the two white appendages, momentarily dazed. Then, his expression changed, as understanding slowly dawned on him.
He should have seen this before, but because it was always in the dark, he had only ever felt its presence. He’d never looked closely under the light. On the nights when Xuan Si had sucked his essence, when the snake’s tail tightened around his ankle in a strangely affectionate manner, he had sensed something extra on the tail—something that made it uncomfortable when it wrapped around him.
But at the time, he had been so consumed with fear and pain from Xuan Si’s bite that he hadn’t paid attention to the fact that this snake demon also had his own needs.
“No… wait.” The scholar hurriedly stopped him, reaching out in a panic to cover Xuan Si. “Don’t leave it outside, put it away first…”
“Wife—” Xuan Si purred, undeterred.
“Your wife can’t… your wife can’t do it,” the scholar stammered, his anxiety growing as he realized just how bold he had been, bathing naked in front of Xuan Si. No wonder the snake demon had such thoughts. He didn’t want this, at least not right now. Not with a half-human, half-snake creature. Desperately, the scholar added, “Please, put me down, okay?”
Xuan Si, after a brief pause, put away the appendages and lowered his head to hug the scholar, lifting him gently. The scholar, caught off guard, groaned as he felt himself being lifted and his body pressed against Xuan Si. He could feel the demon’s rough but cool palm against his lower back.
A strange sensation washed over him as Xuan Si’s arm stretched out, and the scholar, startled, instinctively reached back. But before he could make contact, the snake’s tail wrapped around his wrist, stopping him. The scholar stiffened, raising his eyes to find Xuan Si gazing at him with his golden pupils, full of intent.
“My wife, be good,” Xuan Si murmured softly.
“Xuan Si?” The scholar called tentatively, unsure.
“My wife, don’t be afraid if I touch you,” Xuan Si responded in a low, reassuring voice.
It seemed that all Xuan Si wanted was to touch him. The scholar, for some reason, felt a strange sense of relief. He didn’t think Xuan Si would lie to him, so he hesitantly looked up at him, not fleeing. Xuan Si, sensing his uncertainty, gently stroked the scholar’s hair as a kind of reward.
The scholar felt the snake’s tail lift again, this time brushing against his leg and giving it a soft, affectionate pat.
“Xuan Si?” The scholar called out uneasily once more.
“Wife, lovely,” Xuan Si purred.
The scholar’s ears immediately flushed with embarrassment, and he quickly looked away, his face turning red.
There were still traces of water on his body, and the ends of his hair were a little damp, but he didn’t feel cold when he laid on Xuan Si’s body. His waist was only half as wide as Xuan Si’s chest, and his legs were not half as long as Xuan Si’s snake tail. Xuan Si’s body was like a pendant he carried with him.
He suddenly felt that this was acceptable. The old people in the village would feed wild cats and dogs, and Xuan Si had fed him. Just like cats and dogs would show their bellies to people, he should also let Xuan Si touch him.
When he entered Xuan Si’s perspective, he was indeed not so afraid to resist. He even relaxed a little when he felt Xuan Si gently touch him. Xuan Si’s palm was a bit like the claws of a beast, and the skin was hard and dry, without any temperature. This touch was different from that of humans. After a while, the palm moved upward.
“Xuan Si… you can’t do it here,” the scholar shrank.
“Why?”
“…”
He didn’t know how to explain it.
He didn’t explain, so Xuan Si continued to knead it, his palms almost covering that piece, holding it as if he were kneading dough, making him unable to help but make a sound.
He raised his head and looked at Xuan Si.
He was like this now, with no clothes on the body of the snake demon, and the snake demon was playing with his hands. Anyone who looked at him would think that he was bewitched by the demon and had sunk deeply, but Xuan Si… actually didn’t understand this, right? Does Xuan Si know the meaning of this?
Seeing his blank look as he raised his head, Xuan Si suddenly came closer and touched his forehead.
“Hiss, hiss.”
“What’s the meaning?”
“Hiss, hiss.” Xuan Si just looked at him deeply, and his fingers suddenly clamped onto him. The scholar subconsciously wanted to get up but was slapped by the snake’s tail and pinned to his waist.
“Xuan Si!”
He moved and struggled, but when he twisted, the smell of snake fluid from the tail tip came out. The scholar groaned for a moment and squinted his eyes. He felt that strange foreign body sensation. It seemed to have been enlarged suddenly, and there was something under the snake scales that made him feel uncomfortable.
He could see what Xuan Si wanted in his eyes, and he could feel Xuan Si’s hand, from the root of his fingers to the tips, had that uneven roughness.
The originally sharp nail tips had been deliberately smoothed over the past few days, as if to avoid hurting him at this time.
Xuan Si pressed his forehead and hissed.
“No…” The scholar’s expression suddenly changed.
“Wife, why don’t you want to?” Xuan Si asked seriously. “I’ve endured this for a long time.”
What… the scholar was stunned. So, Xuan Si had taken his things back not to stop. But held back temporarily to calm him down and try again.
“My wife, come and taste me,” Xuan Si held him higher again and asked him. “My wife, come and taste me.”
“Xuan Si!” The scholar was frightened and shouted.
“My wife, I’m coming——”
Patting his palm toward him, the scholar suddenly understood why Xuan Si had stayed in the cave for so long, why he had been feeding him and taking care of him all these days. It turned out that he wanted to take care of him until he was no longer afraid of him, and then he could eat him and wipe him clean.
In the cave, his pupils shrank suddenly.
Looking from outside the cave, someone could only see that the snake demon’s hands were holding the scholar so tightly that they couldn’t see its movements. They could only see that the scholar’s body seemed to be struggling outward, and then he was hugged even tighter. With his hands on the ground, the scholar’s breathing gradually became heavier, with a hint of crying.
“You… you lied to me…”
