Chapter 5
The scholar woke up again in a dark cave on Snake Mountain.
The scholar just moved a little, and then he felt that his legs seemed to be entangled, as if he were pillowing on something warm and cool. The scholar frowned slightly, opened his eyes blankly, and faced that handsome and strange face.
He subconsciously wanted to break away and crawl out, but he was easily hugged by the snake demon. Only then did he realize that he was sleeping in the arms of the snake demon, and the snake’s tail was wrapped around his leg.
“You, let go of me…” The scholar froze suddenly and shouted in panic, “Have you not hurt me badly enough?”
The snake demon didn’t seem to understand what he was talking about. It stared at him with its golden vertical eyes, then reached out and picked up his long hair.
He subconsciously trembled in fright, raised his hand, and screamed, but the next moment he felt the hand slowly touching his hair, gently caressing it. The scholar was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he did not dare to resist. The snake demon’s hand went down the back of his neck, imitating the way women in the village coaxed their children, and patted his back again and again.
The scholar suddenly froze, his body still shaking uncontrollably.
It wasn’t until his stiff body slowly relaxed, and he adapted to the current situation and everything that happened, that the hand slapping his back stopped, and a hissing sound came from his ears. It was the snake demon whispering to him.
He didn’t know what it was saying, but the scholar no longer had the initial fear. He sensed the comfort in the snake demon’s actions and slowly raised his head.
He didn’t remember clearly what had happened before he fell unconscious. He only knew that a pair of hands had covered his eyes in the end, and the man’s screams could be heard in his ears.
So, the one who had covered his eyes and saved him was the snake demon?
He met the snake demon’s gaze and clenched his fingertips.
“You… are back?”
“Hiss.” The snake demon understood what he said and raised its tail with some pleasure.
The snake’s tail was still wrapped around the scholar’s legs, so the scholar was lifted up immediately and staggered down onto the snake demon’s chest.
The naked chest looked the same as that of a human’s, but it was more solid and stronger. Because the scholar had been sleeping on it for a long time, it was now stained with his body temperature, and it no longer looked so cold.
The scholar hurriedly tried to get up again, but the snake’s tail had already begun to move. With a hissing sound, the snake demon hugged his waist with both hands, and the tip of its tail unceremoniously opened the hem of his clothes.
Suddenly, the scholar’s expression changed.
The snake demon hugged him again to prevent him from resisting. He was half-imprisoned and laying on the snake demon’s chest. He could only feel the coldness of the tip of the tail that made him shiver. It suddenly climbed up his body. He screamed, and his pupils shrank.
The clenched fingertips trembled, and the scholar endured not making a sound. However, the heavy breathing still exposed his situation at that moment. He couldn’t help but grab the snake demon’s shoulders and closed his eyes tightly.
What was this going to do to him? Could it be that the purpose of coming back to find him was not to save him, but to play with him and suck his essence like before?
The tip of the tail was thin at first but thickened to about four or five inches long, with very thin and hard scales. When it travelled along his skin, he couldn’t help but tighten his body.
A thin sound came from the dark cave, and the scholar trembled, passively enduring the teasing of the snake’s tail. He knew that the snake demon had not yet formed its legs and had come back to look for him to devour him. In vain, he thought he had escaped from the tiger’s den, but he never thought he had entered the snake’s den again.
In the past few months, he had nowhere to tell anyone what he had suffered because of the snake demon. Even though the culprit was right in front of him, he felt helpless and greedy, unable to do anything. Instead, he allowed himself to be played with in this position. The embarrassment caused by the situation made him so angry that the corners of his eyes turned red. He finally shed tears, clenching his fingers and shaking silently.
He was shaking so hard that the liquid flowing out of the corners of his eyes fell coldly on the snake demon’s chest. Immediately, the demon’s hand reached out and lifted his chin.
“What…?” The scholar glared with red eyes, “It would be better for you to kill me than to humiliate me like this.”
“Hiss.”
Suddenly, the snake’s tail hit him hard again. The scholar screamed from the impact. His hands were tied, and the tears from his eyes were wiped roughly. He felt completely under control and was beaten again. Forced to endure the teasing, he cried out like a beggar, begging the snake tail to leave his body. He looked into those golden vertical pupils and said almost pleadingly:
“Don’t be like this… don’t be like this…”
He struggled but was forcibly trapped again. The next moment, he felt the snake’s tail leaking snake liquid along his skin, cold and strange all over his body. The snake demon seemed to be pouring liquid on him, and though he didn’t know what it felt like, he gradually felt as if his body had been washed from the inside out, becoming different.
But he thought it was just the snake demon’s way of marking him, and he couldn’t help but feel afraid.
He knelt down on the snake demon in embarrassment, looking at the snake demon who had turned into a human form. His eyes seemed to have animal-like indifference and bloodlust.
“My wife…” The snake demon whispered to him, “My wife…”
“Go away.”
The snake demon put its forehead against his cheek. “Good, my wife…”
He shook suddenly and struggled to get away.
The snake’s tail wrapped around his wrist.
Somehow, the scholar felt that the scales on the snake demon’s tail seemed to have grown newly these days, like a giant python shedding its skin. There were even traces of incomplete shedding. But what did this have to do with him?
He hurriedly broke free from the snake demon’s arm and just wanted to escape.
His legs were still weak, so he tried his best to push himself up but fell to the ground again. After the scholar got up in a hurry for the second time, he stumbled and ran out.
There was a hissing sound from behind, but the scholar didn’t dare to look back. He just wanted to escape from the clutches of the snake demon as soon as possible, but the snake demon didn’t chase him out.
He didn’t know that the snake demon was sitting by the stone wall in the cave, watching his fleeing figure with a deep, unreadable look.
