Doomsday: Conquering the World

Chapter 1: chapter 1

Chapter 1: Entering the Doomsday Game

"Everyone, remember, there is only one thing to do when entering the doomsday game."

"Live, live, and live!"

"Please remember the following points, which will determine your life and death as well as the hope for the survival of our base city."

1. "The first thing to do when entering the game is to confirm the [Doomsday Disaster Event] and collect related materials according to the disaster content. Note: This is critical!"

2. "After entering the game, if you do not have the ability to protect yourself in the early stage, please treat anyone you meet with caution, whether they are scavengers, rebels, refugees, or survivors."

3. "Collect [valuables] as much as possible, as this will affect your chances of being targeted by the refugees."

4. "Find and build your own hiding place as early as possible. A good hiding place can help you survive the early stages of the game. This is key to your long-term survival."

5. "After arriving in the doomsday game, determine the environmental area you are in as soon as possible, whether it is a city, grassland, wilderness, forest, or desert, and adapt your survival strategy accordingly."

6. "The upgrade conditions of hideouts in each area are different. Do not blindly refer to the construction conditions of survivor hideouts in other areas. Follow the doomsday game guidelines!"

Outside a massive bronze building, thousands of people stood in darkness, listening to the continuous looping prompts from the loudspeakers.

Roger frowned, trying to remember as much as possible.

"I didn't expect to encounter a doomsday world!"

After traveling for one day, Roger already understood his situation.

This parallel world of Blue Star was captured by the [Doomsday Game] three years ago, as the sun rotated around the center of the galaxy.

Disasters occurred frequently around the world: volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, extreme heat, viruses, severe cold...

In just half a year, the entire Blue Star population dropped by 80%, and civilization almost collapsed.

At this point, the [Doomsday Game] officially started.

One hundred bronze buildings appeared on Blue Star out of thin air, and humans built urban bases around these buildings.

Each city could use the bronze building every month to select 50-1,000 people to enter the [Doomsday Game] for a survival challenge.

Once the number of participants in each city was selected, the bronze building would randomly pick survivors from the current city's population to enter the game.

While taking on survival challenges, they also had to face fights with other doomsday game characters and players of all races.

After each periodic doomsday disaster, survival material rewards would be distributed based on the number of survivors in each city base.

These survival material rewards became the guarantee for each city base's persistence.

Roger was one of those selected to enter the [Doomsday Game] this month.

Following the advancing crowd, they soon entered the Bronze Hall, finding a massive portal inside.

Roger approached the portal, rubbing his hands nervously, and stepped forward.

"It's a pity I can't bring anything in!" This thought had barely formed when his vision darkened.

When he opened his eyes again, he was in the ruins of a huge city. The streets were littered with damaged cars, broken walls, and shattered glass. Roger could even see bullet holes in the walls.

He realized he was in a looted convenience store. Only a bottle of mineral water remained on the ground.

Roger quickly picked it up and placed it in his jacket pocket. From now on, every piece of material was crucial.

At that moment, a game interface appeared in front of Roger, showing information about the [Doomsday Game].

The most prominent message displayed was:

[The disaster event occurring in seven days is a polar blizzard, lasting three days.]

"A snowstorm? That's not easy to deal with!" Roger thought.

Choosing a hideout would be crucial, preferably an underground building.

Roger continued exploring the interface. The three main options were [Hideout], [Backpack], and [Chat].

[Hideout] was grayed out, indicating that he needed to select a hideout to activate the function.

Under [Backpack], several sub-options appeared: [Items], [Health], [Skills], and [Manufacturing].

Roger placed the bottle of mineral water in the inventory, which surprisingly took up two slots. He realized item size determined inventory usage, so choosing items wisely was essential.

Equipping a backpack could increase inventory slots.

In the [Health] section, he saw stats for body temperature, fullness, water, health, and stamina. [Skills] and [Manufacture] were currently at zero.

The game attributes seemed gamified, and the [Chat] page revealed more options: [Friends], [Regional Chat], and [World Channel].

Roger had no friends yet, but he opened the [World Channel] to see lines of chat messages.

---

[Damn it, why was I born on the grassland, where birds don't even poop!]

[Have you seen the disaster information for seven days later? It's a polar blizzard. It's going to be tough!]

[Someone help me! Refugees in the city found me, and they're chasing me!]

[I encountered a refugee! Everyone, be careful!]

[Guess what I saw? A military base of the rebels on the coastline! If only I could sneak in!]

---

"What kind of world is this?" Roger frowned at the messages.

He noticed a "1" on the small speaker next to [World Channel]. When he focused on it, a message appeared:

[The player's current number of comments on the world channel is 1 per day.]

Each comment was precious.

In [Regional Chat], there were no restrictions, but Roger noticed a "villain" icon in the upper right corner with the number 1,000.

"This... should be the number of survivors in the current area!" Roger guessed.

Clicking on someone's profile picture offered options for [Private Chat], [Transaction], and [Block].

Roger quickly familiarized himself with the game interface and noticed it was already 4 p.m. He needed to establish a hiding place before dark.

Suddenly, a new message appeared in his mind:

[A doomsday game has been detected. The Monopoly beta plug-in is ready. Do you want to bind it?]

Roger didn't hesitate.

"Bind!"
