Douluo Dalu: From Shinobi to Spirit Master

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Refining the Cultivation Method

The speed of the Spirit Hall's response was clearly impressive. Before Su Chen and Su Xiao had even returned to their hotel in Spirit City, a representative had already contacted them and guided them to a serene, elegant courtyard.

"Please rest here, Your Excellency. Tomorrow, the arrangements for the next steps will be made."

The white-robed deacon bowed respectfully to Su Chen and Su Xiao in turn before pushing open the gate to the courtyard with a gesture. "The bathing and changing facilities are ready, and the meals will be delivered shortly."

The courtyard was a garden of lush greenery, with well-maintained plants, and the air was fragrant with the scent of blooming flowers. The decorations were exquisite, clearly designed by a skilled artisan, and everything around them exuded an atmosphere of tranquility and elegance. Just inhaling the fragrance made one feel at peace.

Su Chen nodded lightly in approval.

He was quite satisfied with the Spirit Hall's arrangements, both in terms of speed and attitude.

Institutions like the Spirit Hall had long understood the importance of those participating in spirit awakening, and their methods to win over talents were always prepared in advance.

However, Su Chen knew that his name was certainly not one they had anticipated.

Even so, in the short fifteen minutes between his conflict with Yan and his exit with Su Xiao, the Spirit Hall had already arranged everything he needed.

Su Chen had to admit, the efficiency was impressive, and there was no fault to be found in the Spirit Hall's treatment.

It could only be said that if not for the protagonist aura of Tang Shenwang, it would have been laughable to think that the Spirit Hall could ever fall under such an attitude towards talent.

"Thank you for your trouble."

Compared to Su Chen's calm indifference, Su Xiao seemed a little more flustered. How could someone from a small place like him ever have imagined such an extravagant reception?

He rubbed his hands nervously and, in a rather awkward manner, took out a small pouch, quietly offering it to the white-robed deacon. "A small token of gratitude. Please, buy some wine and refreshments."

The deacon was startled and quickly stepped back. His hands waved frantically, and he forced a bitter smile. "No, no, Your Excellency. This is what we should be doing. Please, if you need anything, just call for me. I will be waiting outside."

He couldn't accept it!

Who was standing in front of him? The son with full soul power, born with the potential to become a Soul Douluo or even a Titled Douluo, perhaps an Elder of the Elder Hall one day. If he accepted this gift, would Su Chen hold a grudge? Could he even live to see another day?

The white-robed deacon bowed deeply once more before quickly excusing himself.

"I never expected that one day I would benefit from my son's talent," Su Xiao muttered, deeply moved.

It wasn't just the lavish courtyard, nor the respectful deacon; it was the awe-inspiring power of his son's innate talent that had brought this sudden change.

Soon, the meal arrived, a well-balanced combination of meat and vegetables. While not particularly extravagant, it was nonetheless refined, and both father and son were content with the meal.

After eating and washing up, fatigue overcame them, and they quickly fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, a representative from the Spirit Hall brought more materials for cultivation and updated them on the following plans.

The Spirit Hall was taking these promising individuals seriously, allocating an entire week to help them solidify their foundations. The ideal outcome was for both of them to reach level 10 at the same time, and then they would journey together to the Star Dou Great Forest to hunt for their first soul ring.

Su Chen had no objections.

Although he too was eager to obtain his first soul ring and explore the secrets of his martial soul, he understood that the Spirit Hall's plan was advantageous. This was an opportunity to study the cultivation methods of this world, which he now found intriguing.

Su Chen swallowed a pill that nourished his body and eliminated impurities, then opened a booklet in his hand.

It was a guide to the basic cultivation methods for soul power, known as the Absorption Method, or simply meditation.

The principle behind this method was to absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, channel it through the seven meridians and eight vessels, and once it completed a circuit, it would transform into soul power.

This process was in stark contrast to the way chakra worked.

Chakra is a mixture of spiritual and life energy derived from the 130 trillion cells in the human body, while soul power is the absorption or transformation of the spiritual energy found in nature.

In essence, the two methods had no connection.

But the current situation was that the two forces—chakra, in the form of a Martial Soul—had been perfectly harmonized with Soul Power.

In this case, could they be transformed into each other? Could Soul Power be refined through internal cultivation, while chakra could be enhanced through meditation?

If that were possible, wouldn't it exponentially double his cultivation progress?

Su Chen's eyes shone brightly, and he immediately began to attempt the fusion.

The process was bumpy at first, but as night fell, the sweaty boy suddenly opened his dark eyes, a smile of joy forming on his lips.

Success!

It was entirely feasible to extract chakra and absorb Soul Power simultaneously through meditation!

Of course, the subtle control required between them was difficult. Su Chen spent the next full day ensuring that the cultivation method ran smoothly through his body.

Seven days passed quickly as Su Chen immersed himself in this cultivation.

"Huh."

Exhaling a breath of stagnant air, the boy slowly opened his eyes. In that instant, a flash of light shone brightly from them, as if a star had just been ignited.

"Not bad."

Su Chen clenched his fist and nodded in satisfaction.

There was still room for improvement, but this would have to wait until he officially became a Soul Master.

After changing his clothes and washing up, Su Chen headed to the Spirit Hall's main square.

The square, once bustling with activity, was now deserted. As the white-haired youth scanned the area, his gaze immediately fell on several familiar faces.

Xie Yue, Yan, Hu Liena, and a small girl who didn't particularly stand out.

The moment Yan saw Su Chen approach, his face soured instantly, and he snorted coldly, turning his face away.

If not for his trembling legs, this scene would have looked somewhat courageous.

Su Chen paid him no mind.

After nodding at Xie Yue, Hu Liena, and the others in turn, he quietly stood to the side.

During this time, Hu Liena seemed to want to speak with him, but noticing that Su Chen seemed deep in thought, she wisely refrained from interrupting.

"It seems that everyone is here."

A sudden voice echoed from behind them. Several figures flickered in and out of view, and in the next moment, two individuals stood before them.

One appeared as a smoky figure, its form lacking substance yet vaguely shaped like a human, as though covered in torn black cloth, with its face obscured.

The other was a handsome man with blond hair, tall and elegant, but the lingering femininity on his face marred the otherwise striking beauty.

The aura of the two individuals felt like the depth of the ocean, and even without turning their gaze toward them, Su Chen's heightened perception from his immortal body sent a powerful warning.

"Ju Douluo and Ghost Douluo?"

Bibi Dong sent them?

Su Chen was slightly surprised.

He had anticipated the Spirit Hall would take them seriously, but he hadn't expected such a level of involvement.

It was almost as if using an anti-aircraft gun to swat a mosquito—sending two Titled Douluo to assist a level 10 Soul Master in hunting for their first soul ring.

But for Su Chen, this was not necessarily a bad thing. With such prominent figures close to Bibi Dong, it would only facilitate his plans.

The young man briefly pondered.

Some methods could be put into motion sooner than expected.
