Draconic King of Shadows

Chapter 19: Short and Bloody

Damion woke up feeling better than ever. Perhaps it was the increase in his HP, or the fact that he had a long deep sleep, or both even. All in all, he was brimming with raw, primal energy, and some of that energy had been transferred to a certain little guy, again.

Damion groaned in frustration and let himself settle down, and when that appeared to be done, he got out of bed and entered the bathroom to clean up.

A lot had happened the day before, and though it was all like a dream, the System popping up in his face and showing a daily quest was enough proof that it was all real.

Damion rubbed his eyes gingerly, washed it with some soap, then read what was on the panel again.

"Huh?..." he raised an eyebrow.

He found it hard to believe what he was seeing. Wasn't this just the system trying to screw him over and declare him as insane?

Damion sighed. In spite of that, he was going to do them all. He didn't know what the rewards were, but the system never failed to deliver, even if he had been with it for only a day.

He left the dorm room an hour later, wearing normal clothing consisting of a tight fitting dark Green shirt, Military Combat Uniform trousers, and a pair of black boots.

The academy didn't provide them with strict uniform rules, and they all received a MCU set monthly. The academy understood that with the constant fighting amongst students, there would surely be wear and tear happening everyday. Plus, everyone had Abilities.

Despite all this though, it wasn't enough, and the students had to wear their normal clothings at times when they had lost their uniform in a fight.

Damion began to jog lightly in a random direction, and the system began to calculate. He found it easy to do this because of the increase in his HP and Constitution the day before. His stamina had been enhanced, making an exercise like this easy to do.

As Damion jogged on, he remembered the core he got from the Green Rose Poison Heart, and he began to think of an equipment or accessory he could make from it.

He brainstormed through different ideas until he realised something… "Where is the core?" he asked, puzzled.

"I clearly saw it disintegrate into dust particles when I absorbed its essence, so how did I still obtain it!" Damion reflected.

He was too occupied with his gains, the overwhelming energy and tiredness in his body to realise that immediately, but now that his head was a bit clear, he began to ponder on this phenomenon.

Seemingly stumped, he faced the system and asked point blank. "Where's the core of the Green Rose Poison Heart?"

There was silence for a second, before the interface changed, and a new panel was shown.

[Storage]

[1x Green Rose Poison Heart Core]

"I have a Storage space!" Damion exclaimed in surprise. He went back to the Status screen and looked at the whole screen properly, and that was when he saw a tab which read, 'Storage'.

Damion's mind spun. He could do so much with this. He could already imagine himself smuggling weapons into places they weren't meant to be, or pulling out a weapon in a fight suddenly and catching an opponent off guard.

Damion thought of so many things in just a few seconds, and while this was happening, his ears picked up the sound of people passing by, and he looked up.

He found a set of students staring at him and pointing fingers, whispering amongst themselves. Damion was surprised by this, but he ignored them and jogged by.

His thoughts began to roam again, and the same thing that happened a few seconds ago, repeated itself… another set of students were caught staring at him and whispering.

Damion ignored them once again and carried on with his exercise, he didn't want to bother himself with them. However, not even thirty seconds later, another set of three students were seen brazenly pointing their fingers at him and snorting.

Damion pivoted on his feet and barrelled towards the students, reaching his top speed in a second.

The nose of one of the students caved in under a sudden punch from Damion, and the ping of a daily quest successfully completed was heard.

The second student wasn't fast enough and also ate a solid kick to his guts, sending him ricocheting off the ground and balling up in pain.

The last student had fully come to terms with the odd idea of Damion, the thrash everyone knew, attacking him, and a ball of wind gathered in his palms.

He leaned forward and tossed the balls at damion, but a simple duck and roll, and a quick kick behind the students knee made him fall over.

Before he could regain his bearings and attack again, Damion was upon him, his palm tightly clasped around his throat.

"I will ask just once, and if you do not answer quickly and truthfully… you will feel pain," Damion uttered coldly.

The student in his grasp ignored his threat and gathered wind around his neck, releasing it with a burst of energy and forcing Damion to let go.

Fortunately, Dragon's Reflective Skin protected his arm, and only a few white marks were seen with no injury.

Damion frowned deeply, and his eyes began to glow a faint purple, signifying the activation of Dragon's Authority. He kicked off the ground and tightened his fists, and like a machine gun, he pummelled the students before him until he was unrecognizable.

The fight was short and bloody. There was no one around to witness it, and Damion was thankful for that.

He reached for the necklaces of the students, but the only thing he received were more credits… no tickets.

Damion sighed, "25 more kilometers and jumping off the roof of a two story building. Let's go."
