Only if he could link his mind with hers, enter her mind somehow…

Mind. Link.

Naruto snapped his fingers in an eureka moment.

"Alright Marie, I need you to sit cross-legged and focus."

Martha sat up, obeying his orders Immediately, her long hair pooling on the floor around her.

"What are you going to do, Naruto?" John asked worriedly.

"Something I've never done before. I need silence guys. Don't make a sound."

Naruto mirrored Martha, sitting at arm's length away from her. He blinked once and the fabled Rinnegan manifested itself in his eyes.

"Naruto-nii, your eyes." Martha gasped. Both Hunter siblings had seen the same eyes before, only once in the heat of battle. Now, they could take in the strange features his eyes currently possess.

"It's called the Rinnegan. Don't have time to explain." Naruto said hurriedly and grabbed Martha's shoulder. "Now, Marie, you'll feel a probe deep within you. Don't fight it and just go with the flow."

Martha nodded and closed her eyes. She felt Naruto's warm palm rest on her forehead a moment later.

"Ningendo."

She felt the probe instantly, it was like something was trying to evade her mind and on instinct, she felt something well within her in opposition to the probe.

"Don't fight it… Marie." Naruto admonishes gently.

Martha took in a deep breath, calmed her nerves and dropped all forms of defenses. The probe washed over her, overwhelming her consciousness and before she knew it, she blacked out.

John watched as his sister slumped like her spirit had left her body. The constant rise and fall of her chest was the only thing that kept him a step away from panic.

(Inside Martha's Mindscape)

In a field littered with purple sakura petals, the clear blue sky lacked a sun but yet, the space was as bright as day.

The winds picked up all of a sudden, blowing the petals and soon, a small sakura petal storm formed. The beautiful sight didn't last lost due to Naruto slowly materializing in the middle of the storm on his knees.

Once the storm calmed, he rose and took in the scenery. Sakura petals filled the floor beyond his line of sight dyeing the slopes, hills and mountain tops purple.

The representation of Martha's mindscape could be summed up with one word; beautiful.

Let it be known that Naruto Uzumaki was never one to be jealous. It was of utmost importance to acknowledge and appreciate the beauty in everything… even dark sewers with shallow waters.

Another petal storm began to swirl gently, taking a humanoid form as the visage of Martha slowly formed beside him.

Martha looked dazed for a moment before she took in her immediate environment, a gasp escaping her lips at the amazing view missing the long face Naruto wore.

It was indeed pleasing to the eyes.

"Where are we, Naruto-nii?" she asked, leaning over to inspect a little plant.

"Your mind." he answered.

"My mind?" astonishment colored Martha's face at Naruto's reply. This was her mindscape?

"A representation of your mind but you get the gist." Naruto shrugged at her confused look.

Martha would have dropped a comment on the glaring abundance of purple petals but her eyes widened involuntarily when she felt it.

'You can sense it now?" Naruto asked, glancing at her shocked face.

All of it was quite overwhelming for her.

"Hop on." Naruto's order snapped her back to reality.

She noticed Naruto in front of her on his knees, his hands behind his back.

"I'm talking you to the source you felt."

.

.

.

Naruto reached a valley leading to an open space, an orb of energy in the distance slowly growing bigger and bigger as they covered more ground. Martha enjoyed the rushing winds on her face, the dancing trails of petals they left behind as they sped past, she wished to stay on his back longer but unfortunately, the ride ended sooner than she'd expected.

Martha got off his back and stumbled forward before she righted herself, neck craned up as she stared at the massive purple orb slowly sloshing around. There was nothing chaotic about it at that moment, it was mesmerizing to say the least.

Now that she stood in front of the source of what she felt, she couldn't shake the sinking feeling in her gut. With wide eyes full of trepidation, she tried to confirm her belief, "Naruto-nii, is this…?"

"Yeah, it's the same signature as Ashirok's, only this one lacks evil intent."

It felt like the floor below her had been replaced with a bottomless abyss when Naruto confirmed her speculations. "A-are you telling me I have demon energy within me?"

"Purified demon energy." he corrected. "I don't know how it was purified but maybe because it's void of its owner's will?" Naruto mused.

"I-i can't accept this." Martha moved away from the orb in fright. It was quite massive, towering over them. Though it felt familiar and boundless, she felt nothing but fear and despair when she gazed at the orb.

Demon energy is Demon energy. There's no changing that. Her belief was unshakable.

"I'm sorry but it's all yours now. We don't get to choose some things that happen to us, Martha." Naruto answered solemnly. "Welcome to the supernatural world."

"Am I doomed?"

"If you don't learn to control this energy, you will attract supernaturals with such a massive pool of energy. Some might be friendly and some, hostile."

"Then, I'm in danger?"

Naruto scoffed at the crestfallen look on her face. "As if! Anyone who wants to get to you will have to go through me first."

His words reassured Martha but his next words made a knot form in her stomach.

"Also, I'm not omnipotent, Martha. I won't always be there. And that's why I'll teach you how to defend yourself with this power."

"How do you expect me to use this power?! The same power that possessed me and used my body to do evil! The same power that tried to kill my brother! I'm not cut out for this kind of thing, Naruto-nii." Martha exploded in his face

At this point, Martha's voice was shaking with fear, anger and uncertainty. A bead of sweat had already collected at the edge of her eyelids.

"There must be some kind of way for me to purge this—this… thing out of my body."
