Chapter 15- Indifference

"Have you thought about where you two are going to eat outside?" Prima asked Luna as soon as she saw her.

Luna frowned. "I've already texted her, but it's been two days and there's still no news from her. I don't know if she didn't see it or if she's just too busy."

"I saw her coming out from the faculty room earlier," Tina said.

"Where is she now?" Luna asked quickly.

"It seems she's about to go out of the campus," Tina replied.

Luna quickly turned around and ran towards the gate, which was not too far from where she was.

Tina and Prima also followed Luna because they felt that something was wrong with Mira.

Luna ran and saw Mira outside the gate. She stopped for a moment to take a deep breath and fix her hair and clothes, then she quickly walked towards her. When she was only a few steps away, she called out, "Mira." Luna knew Mira heard her because of the close distance, but somehow Mira didn't stop, so she called her name again. But Mira acted as if no one was calling her. Luna felt aggrieved and this time she shouted, not caring if people looked at them. She just knew something was wrong with how Mira was treating her like air.

Luna's shout finally made Mira stop, but she didn't look back. So Luna quickly ran in front of Mira because she knew if she didn't, Mira might run away.

Luna spread her arms, blocking Mira from running away from her, although she didn't know why. She just had a hunch.

Mira didn't know how to face Luna, and seeing her look so mad, she felt a little guilty because she knew Luna knew nothing and was innocent. But because of her anger, she ignored Luna's messages.

But she remembered what Lilith had said. Although she didn't care about it, just for Luna to be on the safe side, it was better for her to put some distance between them. Otherwise, if Luna's mother found out, she might turn her anger on Luna, which was something she didn't want. Luna might be cold on the outside, but she could feel that Luna was like a sunshine, and she wanted to protect it from any harm. That harm might be because of her, so this was her best move.

Luna and Mira's eyes met but no one spoke until Luna smiled awkwardly and Mira quickly looked away.

"Did I do something wrong?" Luna asked.

"... " Mira remained silent, looking down.

"I sent you a lot of messages, you didn't reply."

Prima and Tina only listened and watched the two face each other awkwardly.

Mira felt uncomfortable inside but she only showed indifference on her face. She really couldn't face Luna right now and have a good talk.

"I'm sorry, I'm a little busy lately as you know our graduation is just around the corner so I have to take care of a lot of things for my internship," Mira finally said, telling half-truths and half-lies. It's true that she got busy for her internship, but she's already done with her preparation.

Luna sighed with relief deep inside. She thought Mira would really ignore her and let her play a one-man talk show. "It's okay, it's just... messages..." she asked hesitantly.

Mira observed the people around her and noticed that some people were watching them. Prima and Tina also noticed this.

Mira looked at her wristwatch. "We can talk about this later, I'll have to go first," she said as if there's really something urgent.

Luna opened her mouth, not knowing what to say. She stepped aside and nodded to Mira as a sign of agreement.

"Why is Mira like this again? She became indifferent again to Luna like before," Prima whispered to Tina while suppressing her annoyance towards Mira.

"Indeed," Tina replied, then she walked to Luna and pulled her into the parking lot.

Luna didn't resist Tina and let her be dragged, while Prima was confused but didn't ask. She knew Luna is not in a good mood now, so she followed Tina silently.

Tina drove the car and no one spoke. Luna, after a while, came back to her senses. She looked at her two friends and smiled wryly.

"Don't smile like that, it's ugly," Tina said when she noticed Luna tried to smile.

"I'm... trying my best to be friends with her... but..." Luna wanted to know why Mira became cold to her again.

Prima couldn't take it seeing her friend, the cold beauty and goddess in people's eyes, look so defeated, fragile, and helpless, so she punched the back seat of Tina who is driving right now and shouted, "What are you sad about?! If she can't appreciate your sincerity then let her go! She treats you coldly, who does she think she is?! She's so annoying! Now it's understandable why she doesn't even have at least one friend, she deserves it!"

Prima is so angry. When did she see her friend suffer? It's rare for Luna to approach someone and make efforts, and when people thought everything is going well, she will just turn her back and give a cold face. Such a person doesn't deserve Luna's sincerity, although she didn't know what's happening, what she saw was enough to dislike Mira.

Luna didn't know what to say. She knew her friends were only concerned for her, so she remained silent, but she was also thinking if all her efforts were nothing to Mira. However, she also remembered the first necklace she gave to Mira which was placed on the wallet. She didn't believe that Mira doesn't care about her existence and something might happen somehow she thought of her mother.

Luna was immersed in her speculation when she heard a notification. She quickly looked at it and saw that it was from Mira. The gloomy and depressing mood around her suddenly washed away and a smile appeared on her face.

Prima who became silent watched Luna's expression change from a stern look into a sunshine. Seeing her wide smile Prima had a thought  'Luna, won't be in love, right?' then she gulped when she got this idea.
