Chapter 35- Talk

"I would like to, but I don't want her to feel uncomfortable," Maria answered.

"How could it be? Mom also wants to talk to you. I know you two have had misunderstandings before, and maybe it's about time to clear them up."

"Haa... yeah," Maria sighed as Luna seemed more mature than some adults.

Luna smiled then she enthusiastically talked to Maria about her mother. Maria was also interested and would ask questions from time to time. They spent more time talking about the past without realizing the time.

While Luna and Maria were having a leisurely time, Lilith, who had gone to work early, waited until it was time for the opening of the restaurant. However, the person she had been waiting for didn't come. She looked at the absentee list and saw that Maria had asked for leave, saying she wasn't feeling well, which made Lilith a little worried.

Lilith diverted her attention to the restaurant and set Maria aside in her mind. However, no matter how she tried, she would still unconsciously wonder how Maria was doing or if someone was even taking care of her, realizing her worry made her laugh to herself. She said she hated Maria, yet just because she saw her again after a long time, she somewhat had some expectations.

She frowned and leaned backward while massaging her temples. She checked the time and it was still early in the afternoon. After some thought, Lilith, the type of person who dares to hate and dares to love, decided to just go to Maria instead of brainwashing herself again that she didn't care about the person.

Maria got in her car and made a phone call to Luna.

"Mom?" Luna asked on the other side while putting it on loudspeaker for Maria to hear too.

"Sweety, I may not be able to go home early tonight,"

"Where are you going?"

"I'm just... gonna meet an old friend," Lilith said, pursing her lips.

Maria, who was listening and knew Lilith's character, became tense. Thinking about how Lilith had followed her last night and now that she said she's going to meet an old friend, she had some idea.

Luna glanced at Maria then she replied, "Alright Mom, be careful on your driving."

"Yes,"

Luna looked at the hung-up phone call then she heard Maria.

"Luna, you should go back now," Maria said.

"Aunt? What's the matter?"

"Lilith will come here later,"

"Huh?" Lilith was confused for a moment then she realized what Maria meant. "Mom will come? But she just saw you yesterday,"

"Your mother is a decisive type of person. If what you said is true, that she wants to talk to me and to clear any misunderstanding between us, then she won't stay calm once she saw me." Maria explained calmly.

Luna, even though she was worried, still nodded reluctantly. "Then I'll go home now. By the way, Aunt, is it okay if I told Mira about this?"

Maria looked at Luna's eyes. She knew her daughter's attitude towards Lilith and thankfully Mira didn't vent her hatred to Luna, but it still made her worried.

"Do you want to?" Maria asked back.

"I just don't want her to know nothing, and be left out,"

Maria was silent for a moment then she said, "Go up to her room, call her first."

"Go to her room? Why?"

"My daughter is more like a mother, you know. She would worry about me in everything, even if it's a small thing. So if you told her about the situation, she might get mad and worry at the same time, but if she knew that you're with me, she will be at ease."

"She would be at ease? Isn't it the opposite since she will get mad?"

Maria chuckled. "She would get mad because she's not around and would be at ease because you're with me. Luna, if you haven't realized yet, Mira trusts you so much."

"Mira... trusts me?"

"Yes,"

Maria smiled dotingly at Luna then she persuaded her to go to Mira's room. Luna smiled helplessly and decided to explain everything to Mira instead of keeping it to themselves. Although Maria assured her, when the phone call got connected, she still couldn't help but be nervous.

Mira looked at her phone and the call was connected, but no one was talking, which made her confused.

"Hello? Luna?"

Luna sat on Mira's bed as she tried to relax herself. "Are you busy?"

"No,"

Lilith closed her eyes. She just called Mira without thinking how she would start the explanation. For some reason, she felt like an idiot.

"Are you at home?" Luna checked the time and it was already 3 in the morning in the U.S., yet Mira was still awake.

"Yeah, but I have some documents that need to be finished for the meeting later, so I'm just taking a break now," Mira explained. Recently, the company became more busy as their new project just got launched and there's a lot of work that should be done fast.

Luna smiled helplessly as she remembered that Mira once said she could contact her anytime, but something important is not something they could talk about in a short period of time. She also felt that Mira seemed to be pushing herself too much these days.

"I have something important to tell you, so it's better to talk about it when you got free time."

"Something important?"

"Yeah,"

Luna wanted to say it's about their parents, but she was afraid that Mira would get distracted while working.

"Alright, I'll call you later,"

"Okay,"

"You didn't go to work today?"

"No," Luna answered without explanation, then she added, "Let's talk later. Also, don't push yourself too much and take a rest. If Aunt finds out, she will definitely scold you later."

Mira laughed a little, imagining her mother scolding her. "She won't scold me if you won't tell her."

"Oh... but I'm also worried about you. I should better tell it to Aunt," Luna said without thinking.

But Mira got a little shy when Luna said she was worried about her, although she knew it was just a joke.
