Chapter 265: Fighting the Reaper Organization leader - Part 2
It would be a lie if Su Yen said he was surprised by the old woman's principle. He had expected the leader of the Reaper Organization to comprehend a principle related to the common elements, but he was wrong. Discover more stories at m,v l'e|m-p| y r
Her Principle was Decay.
A deadly principle. As long as her dagger could inflict a slight injury on her opponent, their body began to decay quickly, siphoning their life force out of their body.
Looking at the pride etched deep within the old woman's eyes, a smile crept up to Su Yen's face. Although the decay principle was a fatal one, he wasn't a bit worried.
To him, it only piqued his interest and that's all.
He came to find answers, and he won't let anything hinder him from getting them. These three old bones would die, and nothing could stop that from happening.
The old woman looked at the quiet boy and said with an emotionless voice, "Kid, don't tell me you're scared?"
The sarcasm in her tone couldn't be more obvious, but Su Yen didn't seem to care and flashed her a bright smile.
"Scared! What's that?!" Su Yen shook his head slightly while still maintaining his smile. "I'm considering how to kill you. Should I do it slowly or do it fast?"
He tilted his head to the side as if giving it serious thought. The old woman didn't have any change in her expression, but deep inside, she was boiling with rage.
As for the old man behind her, he couldn't maintain his expression and gnashed his teeth in fury.
"You…!" Veins protruded from his forehead as he pointed to Su Yen.
His chest rose and fell with his eyes turning bloodshot. He wanted nothing but to teach Su Yen the lesson of his life before giving him the most painful death ever.
Alas, he knew better, not unless he wants his head to be hung in the gallows.
It was at that moment Su Yen spoke from his imaginary contemplation. "Now, I know it…. I don't care. I just need to get rid of you two."
With that being said, he dashed toward the old woman with an expressionless face. It was as if he didn't know the old woman was a Half-Step Nascent Soul expert with a deadly decay principle.
Watching the incoming, the corner of the old woman's lips curled up in slight disdain.
"Die!"
"Abyss Decay Strike." Her voice was not loud, but the eeriness of it gave the old man standing behind her goosebumps.
He quickly retreated when he saw the dark mist coming out of her body, traveling at a breathtaking speed toward Su Yen.
As for Su Yen, he didn't have any change in his expression.
"Sword Burial - Deathwrath." He swung his sword in an arc.
The deadly decay mist covered the sky, while the appearance of the Sword Burial added to the eeriness and terrifying presence in the atmosphere.
Boom!
The sky shook vehemently, covered in death and decay. Everything in the path of the two attacks either turned decayed at a rapid speed or died immediately.
The threat from the two attacks could kill any Foundation Building warriors with ease.
At the center of the attack, the old woman didn't retreat, while she still maintained her emotionless expression.
"Severing Life Strike," she muttered.
She increased the tempo of her strike and swung her deadly dagger. Su Yen didn't back down and retaliated with another sword attack: The Three Resonance Thunderstrike.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
This time around, they couldn't maintain their standing as they both retreated, their gazes fixed on each other.
The atmosphere was tense, filled with dread and the aura of death. Sparks flew as their attacks clashed, each strike threatening to end the other's life in an instant.
Su Yen's heart was calm like a gentle lake as he faced off against the formidable old woman.
He could sense the power emanating from her strikes, each one capable of severing life itself.
Yet, he remained steadfast, as he knew he could never be defeated. This was not being prideful but came from his strength.
As they continued to exchange blows, the ground beneath them trembled with each strike. The air crackled with energy, and the sky seemed to darken with their intensity.
The old man standing a couple of kilometers from the battle widened his eyes in astonishment. What was happening before his eyes was way beyond what he could ever dream of.
Their leader had been a terrifying existence that none could withstand a single strike from her, but now, she was held off by a seemingly young unknown man.
If there were still people on the island, they would never have believed what they were seeing. Moreover, if the ancient clans saw such a monster fighting against a Half-step Nascent Soul expert.
As the old man was stunned by Su Yen's prowess, likewise, the old woman was stupefied. Previously, when Su Yen defeated her two subordinates, she was shocked, but that didn't move her resolve.
She believed if those two couldn't finish him off, she would do it with ease. But now, she realized how wrong she was.
Fighting against Su Yen was like fighting against an ancient old monster. The more you threw at him, the more he threw back at you.
Moreover, what made him fearsome was the rate at which he comprehended his opponent's tactic. Use it once, and he would learn it, incorporate it in his attack, and use it against you.
With such fearsome comprehension, the old woman was scared for the first time since the battle began. Now, she was not confident they could kill him.
Still, she gnashed her teeth and continued fighting with all her might. If she was going to die, she wouldn't go down without trying her best.
As the two were exchanging attacks, suddenly Su Yen changed his battling style and used a movement skill.
"Phantom Sky Step."
Instinctively, he disappeared from his spot like a ghost and appeared behind the old woman. Without delay, he released another deadly strike.
This time around, the strike was different from the previous ones. It was more potent and terrifying.
"Chaotic Sword Strike."
