Evolution Theory of the Hunter

Chapter 195

J: Chapter 8 of 10.

There was a super giant sword with flames burning on it.

“For an irregular to walk in on its own. I don’t know what your plans were but.”

As he swung his sword toward the ground, hot lava spouted out as the ground shook.

I was wondering what he was doing while in the middle of a war with Chinese hunters but I didn’t have the time to look around. It felt like my neck would be sent flying the moment I looked away.

I couldn’t afford another mistake like before.

Immortality was already used up.

I will definitely die the next time around.

Lee Hui-seung opened his mouth.

“I will accept if it is a challenge. You know that the price is your life yes?”

“Wa, wait!”

I barely managed to say so.

It like my mouth was burning up from the extreme heat from Lee Hui-seung each time I opened my mouth.

“Speak.”

He replied with a soft smile. It felt like he was showing mercy before death. He didn’t even treat me as an opponent.

“Why did you attack me?”

“That’s not something a guy that approached like a mouse should be saying though. If you were planning on talking about such things, it seems there’s no need to listen anymore.”

He crouched down.

It felt like becoming a rabbit in front of a tiger. Despite the fact that I had level 10 items, had Aura Blade, and had the Effort skill’s proficiency at over 90.

Was I only a pipsqueak in front of this person.

I shot forward with all the strength I had.

And then jumped a few times using the Dancing Sword.

My body had instantly gotten away from the battlefield and headed to an unknown place. The direction and distance didn’t matter. It was first priority to get away from Lee Hui-seung first.

[You’re a pretty fast guy.]

I got flustered at the sound that I suddenly heard beside my ear and looked around.

I couldn’t see his figure.

At the next moment, I felt a strong power as it pulled my body.

“Kuk!”

I utilized psychokinesis to the fullest but it was useless. A power that even caused the Dancing Sword to get pulled, pulled me. I gave up struggling and held the Bloody Sword.

As I fell towards the ground at a fast speed, I swung Aura Blade randomly.

I couldn’t know Lee Hui-seung’s location but I couldn’t just be done in like that after all.

The ground exploded and thick dust rose. In a situation where it was impossible to tell where the enemy was through one’s eye, I quickly moved while lowering my posture.

After leaving the dust cloud, I was able to spot Lee Hui-seung’s figure.

He was in the same place as before.

He was glaring at me while crossing his arms on the command truck.

[You’re good at running away. Today is not a situation where I can fight you so go away.]

“Damn it.”

He didn’t let me go due to mercy.

Baek Gyeongs wearing black clothes had started appearing at the other side of the hill.

The figure of 100 Baek Gyeongs showed themselves.

A tremendous amount of energy could be felt from the guys lining up on the hill.

A situation where hunters from both sides where fighting while mixed up. The fact that they were firing Hadron Cannon in that situation meant that they didn’t care whether their side died or not.

“Crazy bastards.”

However, it was beyond my power to block the Baek Gyeongs right now.

I had already gotten too far from the battlefield and more than anything, Lee Hui-seung’s existence was a problem.

Instead, I opened Lee Hui-seung’s information that I just checked. My neck did get sent flying the moment I got close but I had succeeded in obtaining his info.

Also, information that I checked once was saved in the manual and could be checked at any time.

Name : Lee Hui-seung

Equipment : Red Dragon Armor (10) , Dragon Slayer (10) , Blue Dragon Leggings (10) , Red Dragon Glove (10) , Wind Dragon Earring (10) , Dragon Helm (10) , Golden Dragon Shield (10) , Wind Walker (10) , Eye Of Dragon (10) , Underwear of Immortality (10) , Inventory (10) , Infinite Storage (10)

Skill : Doomsday (10) , Asura Physique (10) , Physical Enhancement (10) , Air Walk (10) , Holy Pegasus Sword (10) , Heaven Destroying Fist (10) , Owl Eye (10) , Memorize (10) , Hyper Acceleration (10) , High Blink (1) , Battle Cry (10) , Strategy (10) …….

I was astounded while looking at his profile.

There were items and skills that I had never heard of listed.

His equipment was full of dragons as if he killed them, and his skills were full of legendary martial arts as if he came out of a wuxia novel.

On top of that, he even had many skills good for utility. Even something like Memorize was a skill that gave complete memorization abilities.

Owl Eye was a technique that could remember a skill it sees once for 10 minutes and was able to use that skill during that time.

In other words, if these two skills were put together, he could continuously use skills he saw once.

It could be seen as a type of skill synergy but I felt that this was too much.

Of course, he even had skills that raised physical abilities.

Hyper Acceleration instantly allowed one’s speed to rise by 1,000% and High Blink allowed short distance teleportation with a 1 second cooldown time.

Either way, each and every one of the skills weren’t ordinary but there were over 100 of them.

A level 10 skill cost at least 100b and thinking about how a skill slot cost 100b, the money it took to obtain an additional level 10 skill was at least 200b.

There were at least 100 of those. It was 20t at the very least.

However, that wasn’t all.

He had Inventory and Infinite Storage among the items he had.

I couldn’t confirm the items he had in them. So it was impossible to estimate the cost of the equipment and skills in his possession.

However, I had already predicted such a thing. He had ruled over from the top for the last 50 years. It would be weird if he wasn’t like this.

It was a wonder how strong he would be when it was all added together but the conclusion was that he was much stronger than I thought.

It was definitely difficult for me to win against him for now.

However, it wasn’t like there wasn’t anything gained from the one sided battle.

I calmly analyzed my battle with Lee Hui-seung.

The teleportation distance of Blink was about 50 meters. And it was possible to move freely for 1 second.

It was probably thanks to this skill that he was able to approach me from the side and cut my neck.

However, I had avoided his second attack.

He didn’t let me off and I didn’t suddenly get faster.

It was just that he was that slow.

In other words, as long as it wasn’t an attack that was from my blindspot, I would be able to dodge it.

In that case, wouldn’t it work out if I fought from outside Blink’s distance?

Unfortunately, that would be difficult.

As much as Blink was a skill with a 1 second cooldown, he would catch up to me in a short amount of time.

So, no matter where I was, I would be done in by Blink.

In the end, I had to move while predicting Lee Hui-seung’s movements.

The only thing I could rely on was the fact that it wasn’t impossible to avoid his attacks by reading his movements.

Whether it was reflex or concentration, mine was higher after all.

I took out a Cooldown Reset Potion from the manual for now.

As it was a potion that reset the cooldown for every skill, it also reset the cooldown time for Immortality.

The potion travelled down my throat.

– The cooldown time of all skills will be reset.

– The cooldown time of Immortality has been reset.

I gained another life with this.

Also, the remaining Reward Points were poured into Reflex. I still had close to 300,000 points remaining, and I was thinking that I might be able to get physical abilities similar to that of Lee Hui-seung with this.

But an unexpected thing occurred.

Once Reflex reached 1450 it suddenly stopped.

– Proficiency has reached 100.

– ‘Effort Upon Effort’ has been mastered.

– You are no longer able to increase proficiency.

“Ah…….”

I got flustered at the messages that appeared one after another. I had mastered the Effort skill by reaching 100 in proficiency.

I didn’t think up to this.

However, the things I didn’t think about continued to happen.

– Master bonus will be given.

– Advances to the next level.

– Effort Upon Effort will evolve to level 1.

“Eh……?”

Level 1……?

I was wondering what this was and was being flustered when Edward who was driving the van while causing a sandstorm approached.

Soo-ah poked her head out from the wide open window.

“Seonbae oppa! Are you alright?”

“I got revived after dying so would I be fine.”

“Get on! That person might attack again!”

“Not yet.”

I shook my head.

“What are you talking about? We might die if we stay here any longer you know…….”

“I still have something I need to check.”

I had already confirmed Lee Hui-seung’s ability in a one on one battle.

Now I had to confirm his one against many battle.

I lifted my head to look at the Baek Gyeongs.

The Hadron Cannons had all finished charging.

With blinding light the Hadron Cannons exploded.

This was enough force to destroy the entire battlefield.

At that moment, Lee Hui-seung moved.

“No way……!”

No matter how strong he was, I thought it would be impossible to destroy an attack of such power.

In the first place, the only method was to destroy them before they fired. I was planning on releasing the level 10 monsters to kill them too.

That was before firing the Hadron Cannons too. There was no way to block the energy ball that has already been fired. It was something I saw and experienced.

However, I couldn’t help but doubt my eyes.

Lee Hui-seung’s body instantly multiplied into 100 and dissipated the Hadron Cannons individually.

There was no skill in the world that could create 100 clones, let alone ones that could perform as well as the original. Even if it was a hidden technique, this was the same.

However, he did it.

No matter how I thought about it, it was an impossible feat.

As Lee Hui-seung blocked the Baek Gyeongs’ attack, the hunters started cheering. Even if they weren’t under the effect of Battle Cry, I think they would have cheered regardless.

It was to the point that even I couldn’t help but let out an exclamation after all.

“Is that…… Even human?”

Edward’s mouth was wide open. Even Soo-ah who chattered endlessly was looking at the scene in front of her blankly with her mouth open.

Lee Hui-seung was the embodiment of the Alpha system itself.

Even if he didn’t have any direct relationship to it, he was the person that received the greatest benefit from it.

As much as he did, he probably didn’t like the situation where it was being shaken.

That’s why I had tried to spy on him since I might clash with him later but this was a different dimension entirely.

“Are we really going to fight that person?”

“No, let’s stay quietly.”

I hurriedly got on the van.

I needed time.
