Chapter 19 - Here is the pen, you write!
Chapter 19: Nan Xiyue with a big brain hole! Here is the pen, you write!
“The Heavenly Mystery Building hasn’t been seen in almost ten thousand years, so it should’ve been destroyed long ago, right?” Master Fei Long hesitated. The Heavenly Mystery Building did exist; it’s mentioned in ancient books and rare copies. However, the most recent record of the Heavenly Mystery Building dates back nearly ten thousand years. Since then, it seems to have disappeared from the world.
Even in the current Nine Mysterious Realms, apart from a few top-level powers, no one knows what the ‘Heavenly Mystery Building’ is anymore. It’s likely that Nan Xiyue wouldn’t know about it either, considering her strength to seal the King’s Realm. Her knowledge of the Heavenly Mystery Building’s existence probably stems from her role as a contemporary Saintess of the Heaven-Saint Palace.
Hearing Master Fei Long’s hesitation, Nan Xiyue spoke slowly: “Although I’ve wondered whether Ning Chuan is from the Heavenly Mystery Building, I wasn’t entirely sure. But after seeing Ning Chuan’s Supreme Bone and Ancient Immortal Eyes just now, I’m almost convinced.”
Taking a deep breath, Nan Xiyue changed the subject:
“Elder Fei Long, think about it.”
“Ning Chuan has never seen me, but can say my strength, knowing that I cultivated the seven-leaf Heavenly Saint Dharma phase, even three times to suppress the Blood Demon Sect Seal King realm column powerhouse, he also believes in.”
“There is also Bei Han, the peerless swordsman who practiced in the endless glaciers in the extreme north, and the red umbrella girl who has half the face of a Bodhisattva and half the face of a Monk in Greenland. These places are hundreds of thousands of miles away from here. Even if Heaven-Saint Palace wanted to investigate, it would take a lot of hard work and manpower.”
“He’s just a storyteller, so how could he know?” Nan Xiyue continued, “Remember that time Ning Chuan and I went out alone? I secretly tested him and asked how he assessed me. Can you guess his evaluation?”
Elder Fei Long scratched his head, suggesting, “Peerless talent? Unmatched talent?”
“Wrong!” Nan Xiyue shook her head slowly, stating, “He mentioned that I’ve had a tough fate, filled with challenges and twists in my childhood.” This revelation startled Master Fei Long, as Nan Yuexi’s past had been a sensitive and closely guarded topic.
“Even though this doesn’t confirm much, he also predicted my future. He said my beauty was accompanied by misfortune and that someone close to me would be my downfall. While it’s uncertain whether this prediction holds true, I can tell he wasn’t simply making things up.”
Listening, Master Fei Long’s hand, which had been stroking his beard, trembled, and his eyes widened. Knowing the past and foreseeing the future? Could this be possible?
“Your Highness, could it be that Ning Chuan delved into your past and fabricated a future?” Fei Long tentatively asked.
“I considered that too,” Nan Xiyue affirmed. “But Elder Fei Long, remember, Ning Chuan is at most eighteen or nineteen years old, maybe not even twenty. How could he have gathered information from across the Nine Mysterious Realms?”
“Moreover,” she continued, “during his comments, he evaluated not just me. He discussed various individuals situated in different parts of the realm. Could one person really accomplish such extensive investigations alone, surpassing the entire Heaven-Saint Palace in resources?”
“Without pause, Nan Xiyue pressed on, “And what about the events today? The ancient immortal pupils and supreme bones, mentioned in those stories, manifested on Ning Chuan. How can that be explained?”
“Did you witness that finger just now? Its power exceeded anything known today! It’s utterly inconceivable in the present world! Hence, that power must belong to the Heavenly Mystery Building of ten thousand years ago.”
Nan Xiyue’s expression became wiser, and her eyes gleamed with insight. “If each of these coincidences was just that, coincidences, what are the odds of all of them falling onto Ning Chuan alone?”
Elder Fei Long found himself momentarily speechless. Nan Yuexi drew a deep breath, her smile confident as she pressed forward, “I can’t think of anyone else who fits all these pieces together, apart from the Heavenly Mystery Building that vanished ten thousand years ago.”
“It’s not surprising to attribute all of Ning Chuan’s belongings to the Heavenly Mystery Building,” Nan Yuexi stated with utmost certainty. Upon hearing this, Master Fei Long’s brows furrowed; an unsettling feeling crept over him. Somehow, he sensed that something was amiss.
“Your Highness,” he began, “according to the records, the individuals within the Heavenly Mystery Building are incredibly formidable. Even their True Saints prove no match for them.”
“But this Ning Chuan…” Fei Long continued, his voice tinged with doubt, “the energy fluctuation from that finger just now appears to be only at the level of a Seal Realm.”
Nan Xiyue’s lips curved into a knowing smile. She had already anticipated this query regarding Ning Chuan’s cultivation level. With an air of confidence, she addressed Fei Long, “Elder Fei Long, you seem to have overlooked something.”
“Do you recall the accounts of how the secretive building vanished that day?”
Without affording Elder Fei Long a chance to respond, Nan Yuexi asserted with conviction, her words resonating with authority, “Almost ten thousand years ago, the renowned Lord of Heavenly Mystery Building attempted to breach the emperor’s realm, resulting in a grievous failure. He was gravely wounded, on the brink of death, and then inexplicably vanished.”
“Since that fateful incident, the Heavenly Mystery Building faded into history, its Master along with it, leaving no trace behind,” she continued, her tone steadfast.
Elder Fei Long was fixated on her words, his expression a mix of astonishment and disbelief. He uttered, almost dumbfounded, “Your Highness, are you implying that you believe Ning Chuan to be none other than the unsuccessful Master of Heavenly Mystery Building from before?”
Nan Xiyue smiled into a self-assured smile, exuding an air of “you’re catching on.” She elucidated, “Indeed, precisely because his attempt to breach the emperor’s realm ended in failure, his cultivation was utterly eradicated. He found himself compelled to enter deep slumber to recuperate from his severe injuries.”
“It wasn’t until a mere month ago that he finally healed and roused himself from his lengthy slumber, embarking on the journey to rebuild his cultivation,” she elaborated. “This would also account for why our inquiries into Ning Chuan’s background yielded no significant results over the past month. He had been in a state of profound slumber during that period.”
As Nan Xiyue concluded her explanation, Elder Fei Long remained agape, seemingly thunderstruck by the revelation. Could it be… Ning Chuan was, in fact, the Master Heavenly Mystery?
“Elder Fei Long, does this now make sense to you?” Nan Yuexi inquired with a triumphant grin, her gaze shifting towards the room where Ning Chuan was located, a glint of cunning in her eyes.
‘Ning Chuan, your secret is finally exposed,’ she thought victoriously.
…
However, if Ning Chuan were privy to Nan Yuexi’s deductions, he would undoubtedly be flabbergasted, exclaiming, “Incredible!” He would then concede with genuine admiration, “I’ll leave the writing to you in the future!”
