Chapter 9 - Half face of Bodhisattva, half face of Shura!
Chapter 9: Half face of Bodhisattva, half face of Shura!
In the blink of an eye, Ning Chuan’s last few words erupted like a bomb in Nan Xiyue’s mind which caused a chaotic stormy sea of her thoughts.
[“Obviously, there was a bright future, but it was ruined by the people closest to me! At last, there was a tragic end! Perhaps, a beauty will always have a fleeting fate.”]
Nan Xiyue felt dazed and overwhelmed by Ning Chuan’s words. Does it mean that I am gonna die in the future?
She felt like falling into an ice cellar, with a gust of cold air freezing her from head to toe.
Ning Chuan’s voice sounded doubtful as he called out, “Miss Lan?”
In an instant she came back to her senses, and quickly forced a smile onto her face.
“What’s wrong?” Ning Chuan inquired.
“I’m fine,” she replied.
“But you look like you lost your soul,” he exclaimed.
Ning Chuan couldn’t help but laugh and joked, “You’re not Nan Yuexi, why did you come out heartbreaking, apparently happy but sad from inside?”
“Ah?” She quickly adjusted her expression, “No, no, I just feel sorry for Nan Xiyue , a majestic saint; but she will eventually get nothing and lose her soul.”
“Hahaha, unexpectedly, Miss Lan is kind-hearted,” he admired.
Ning Chuan smiled, then stretched out his finger towards the bank in front of him and said, “Okay, I’ve arrived at the place where I want to go.”
After finishing speaking, Ning Chuan walked straight toward the bank.
When Ning Chuan had walked a long way, she finally came to her senses and decided to ask some questions that had been on her mind. Raising her head, she looked around, but to her surprise, Ning Chuan was nowhere to be found.
Finally, she removed her disguise, exposing a sorrowful expression in her captivating eyes.
“Will I… will I end up being killed by someone close to me?”
“Ning Chuan… is everything he said true or not?”.
“He doesn’t know that I’m Nan Xiyue, so there’s no reason for him to deceive me,” she concluded.
“So, what he said is true?”
She made her way back to the inn while she felt dazed and confused.
Elder Fei Long was packing his luggage when he felt that she came back. With inquiry he said, “Your Highness, there is news about the Blood Demon Cult. When are we leaving today?”
However, he waited for a long time, but he still didn’t get her answer. He turned his head to look at her suspiciously. He saw that she was sitting on the bench, staring blankly out of the window in a daze.
“Your Highness?” Elder Fei Long tentatively called out.
“Um…?”
She looked down at Elder Fei Long, and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”
Elder Fei Long had no choice but to say again, “There’s news about the Blood Demon Cult. When are we going to leave today?”
“Not leaving,” She replied.
“What? We are not leaving?” Elder Fei Long immediately widened his eyes.
“Yeah, I think we shouldn’t go,”She took a deep breath, regained her composure, and said firmly, “Let the Palace send someone else to deal with the Blood Demon Cult issue. I want to stay here! There are a lot of things that I need to figure out!”
Elder Fei Long was completely dumbfounded when he heard this.
WTF!!!
“Why did you change so much after going out for a while and coming back? What kind of ecstasy soup did Ning Chuan pour into your Royal Highness to make you want to stay here and not leave?!” Elder Fei Long was about to speak, and suddenly she interrupted firmly, saying, “No, but! Elder Fei Long, if you want to leave, you can go by yourself. I can stay here alone.”
Hearing this,Elder Fei Long couldn’t help but rub his forehead and let out a long sigh. His duty on this trip was to protect her, and if she didn’t leave, he wouldn’t be too.
Hey, Ning Chuan, Oh Ning Chuan! What did you say to her Majesty! Elder Fei Long thought with a sigh.
……
At the same time, Ning Chuan also went to the bank to collect dividends from the major booksellers. The total amount was a staggering 5.63 million taels of gold, considered an astronomical figure for ordinary people, enough to secure their future for generations. However, Ning Chuan’s mindset had shifted since he started his cultivation journey, and he no longer cared about material wealth.
Without any delay, he took the golden money ticket and hurried to the trading company. There, he exchanged the gold for 10,000 spirit stones and promptly stored them in the system warehouse. This way, he ensured that his resources would be better suited for his cultivation needs.
After completing these tasks, Ning Chuan returned to the inn to get ready for the storytelling session scheduled for the next day. Tomorrow was a crucial moment in the story, a turning point that would shape the entire narrative. The anticipation within Ning Chuan grew as he thought about this particular episode, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety.
With determination in his heart, he prepared himself for the storytelling session, fully aware that he had to give it his all to make it truly memorable.
……
Meanwhile, in the distant Qing Province, amidst a desolate mountain, a horrifying scene unfolded. The ground was soaked with blood, forming rivers of crimson, while over ten lifeless bodies lay scattered around. Among these corpses, one figure stood out, dressed in a majestic purple robe, a powerful expert who had attained the level of a Marquis Realm.
However, all the corpses, including the Marquis Realm expert, had their hearts taken out, and there were no additional wounds on their bodies.
From this, it can be seen that all the people were killed by a single, powerful blow!
Uncannily, a short girl who took a red umbrella and a strange smile was rambling on the blood-filled ground.
“What’s this?” An abnormal voice echoed in the air.
The short girl lowered her head, stretched out her hand, and pulled out a book with a corner exposed from the collar of a corpse. On the blood-stained cover of the book, the words “Biography of the Heaven-Emperor” could be vaguely seen.
“My Buddha is merciful; you shouldn’t have killed so many people,” the girl sighed, her voice filled with a mix of sorrow and compassion.
The girl, who had previously shown a strange smile on her face, suddenly transformed into a look of pity and pain.
“Go away! It’s my time now, don’t tell me what to do!” she snapped, her expression turning violent and vicious in an instant. Even her voice became shriller and more intense.
“You are so obstinate, the sea of desire is boundless, but it’s not too late as long as you want to turn back and seek the shore.!” Her expressions tore and changed once more, becoming solemn in the blink of an eye, as if she transformed into a Buddha or Bodhisattva.
“Hahahaha! If it’s boundless, where is the shore?” However, in an instant, the young girl’s expression became gloomy and weird again, seeming like it was full of mockery.
“Shut up! You are killing so endlessly, heaven will not let you go, sooner or later you will be entangled in retribution!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with a mix of warning and concern.
“Heavens? My will is just heaven’s will! Who would dare to disobey me?!” Her response turned defiant and cold, showing no remorse.
“Shut up! They also have wives and children, and they never messed with you. Why did you slaughter them like this?” She shouted.
“It’s merely my will, so what reason do I need?”
In the barren mountains, all that could be seen was an extremely weird and frightening scene.
The girl with the red umbrella stood alone in the pool of blood, soliloquizing with rapid changes in expression.
Sometimes her expression was solemn, resembling a compassionate bodhisattva or Buddha.
Sometimes her demeanor turned sinister and gruesomeness, resembling that of an evil ghost and Shura.
Her face was constantly distorting and changing, and two extremes were constantly being staged as if she was about to be torn apart abruptly!
