Chapter 40: In The Vikki and Vance Casino At Gunpoint

Arriving near Primm Raul stopped the Battle Bus as an NCR soldier stood in the way.

"Hey, where the hell do you think you're going? premise off limits. Some convicts from the prison up the road have taken over the town. Everyone inside is either dead or in hiding. What's more, there are two tribes of raiders causing trouble in this area as well. You'd be safer heading back to Goodsprings."

Six listened to the soldier with a frown.

"Isn't the NCR, going to try to take the town back? For God's sake, you have a camp full of soldiers."

He asked.

"We'd love to but they don't fall under the NCR jurisdiction even if they did were in no shape to protect them. We don't have the equipment to take out the convicts and even if we did we need some extra hands for backup."

"If you have any arguments you can talk to Lieutenant Hayes. He's in a tent down the road. You should stay on the west side of the overpass if you don't want to get shot."

The NCR soldier told Six while his eyebrows were twitching and one of his veins on top of his forehead was visibly pulsing.

As the Battle Bus rumbled to a stop near the NCR camp outside Primm, Six and his crew assessed the situation. The NCR soldier's warning about convicts and raiders taking over the town hardly fazed them; this wasn't their first rodeo. Six, with his characteristic mix of confidence and tactical genius, knew this would be another opportunity to clear the town, loot the area, and show off his skills.

"Time to earn your keep, folks."

Six declared, his eyes glinting with excitement as he kicked everyone out of the bus. His plan was simple—divide and conquer, wiping out the Powder Gangers and reclaiming Primm in the process.

Rebecca, ever ready for action, loaded her shotgun, "Guts," with a grin. "That's the choom I love," she teased, her enthusiasm for the fight matching her husband's.

As they approached the bridge leading into Primm, Six signaled the group to halt. His sharp eyes caught the glint of sensor mines placed all over the path ahead. Unfazed, he cracked his knuckles, ready to disarm them.

With his Silent Running perk in play, Six deftly moved from mine to mine, disarming them with speed and precision that left the rest of the group wide-eyed. Rebecca couldn't help but jump onto his back, wrapping her arms around him in admiration as he carried her the rest of the way into Primm.

"Is there anything you're not good at?"

She teased, but her pride in him was clear.

Six grinned, carrying her easily as they entered the now-silent town. The once-bustling streets were eerily empty, save for the bodies of the fallen townsfolk scattered across the dusty streets.

The stench of death hung in the air, but there was no time to mourn. Using his binoculars, Six spotted the unmistakable figures of Powder Gangers patrolling in the distance, some now equipped with mercenary gear. The convicts were no doubt scavenging whatever they could find, likely planning to dig in for the long haul.

Six quickly devised a plan and split the group into two teams: Team One, comprised of Meyers, Boone, and Raul, would sweep the north side of Primm, killing and looting everything they encountered. Team Two—Rebecca, ED-E, and Six himself—would take the south side.

"You know the drill. Kill everything in sight."

Six commanded.

"Except the civilians. Please, don't kill the civilians."

With that, the teams split off. Team One, with Boone's sharpshooting and Raul's experience, moved quickly toward the north, intent on clearing the houses and alleyways of any remaining convicts. Meanwhile, Team Two, led by Six, moved cautiously toward the south.

As they reached the center of town, Six's hands hovered near his Desert Eagles, ever ready for action. His eyes scanned the area, searching for movement. It didn't take long before the unmistakable sound of boots crunching gravel reached his ears, followed by the guttural voices of Powder Gangers.

"Looks like we got company."

Six muttered to Rebecca, who was already bracing Guts against her shoulder, eyes narrowed in anticipation.

The convicts didn't stand a chance. Six moved with lethal efficiency, drawing his twin Desert Eagles in a flash and firing off precise shots that dropped the first two Powder Gangers before they even knew what hit them. Rebecca followed suit, unloading her shotgun into a group of convicts who were scrambling for cover, her blasts reverberating through the quiet streets.

ED-E hovered nearby, firing laser beams to cover their flank, its mechanical whirs adding to the chaos of the battle. The air was thick with gunfire, but Six and Rebecca moved through it like a force of nature, their synergy, and ruthlessness as a married couple on full display.

As they pushed deeper into the town, the remaining Powder Gangers quickly realized they were outmatched. Some tried to flee, but Six, ever the predator, was relentless. With his sharp reflexes and heightened senses, he tracked each one down, ensuring that none of the convicts would live to see another day.

By the time Team One regrouped with them near the Vikki and Vance Casino, Primm had been thoroughly cleared. Boone and Raul looked pleased with their own progress, their arms laden with loot taken from the convicts they had dispatched.

Meyers, grinning, held up a sack of scavenged goods.

"Looks like Primm's ours again, we just need to deal with the ones held up in the Bison Steve Casino and Hotel."

Six nodded, holstering his weapons as he surveyed the now quiet town.

"Not bad. Let's round up what's left and check in with the survivors in the Vikki and Vance Casino. Maybe they'll have something worth trading for this cleanup job."

As the dust settled, Primm was once again free of its captors, and Six's crew stood victorious, ready to annihilate the remaining Powder Gangers in the Bison Steve Casino and Hotel and deal with whatever the wasteland had to throw at them next.

Six grabbed Rebecca like she was a laundry bag on his shoulders and took her inside the casino. Coming inside while Rebecca was pulling his cheek and biting his ear, he came face to face with Johnson Nash Holding him at gunpoint.

"I don't know what it was brought you to Primm, youngster, but you might want to rethink your plans. Town's gone to hell. One of the first things them punks did when they came in was to kill our sheriff. Primm had rule of law for the blink of an eye, but now we're back where we started."

Johnson Nash Was annoyed with all that was happening in town'.

"They can't rush us without eating a good bit of hot lead, but we are in kind of a box canyon. Guess this is as fitting a place for that as any. I reckon if they thought hard enough about it, they'd realize they got more bodies than we have bullets, but for now we're safe enough in here. That's where we are. This here little casino brought some cash and bodies into the town before them Powder Gangsters came in."

"Looks like natural selection took the dumb ones out. that's why we only have the smart ones left that actually know how to take cover and not get shot right away. It can't get worse for you guys right."

Six Retorted.

"Let's see. Been tough around here for a good while now. Worse since them thugs kidnapped our deputy. Them Powder Gangsters got our deputy locked up in the Bison Steve. Be nice to get him out of there... but this town's gonna need some real law. Well, you can call Beagle a deputy so long as you don't harbor too high an opinion of the word. Boy was 'bout as useful as tits on a radscorpion. Only qualification he ever had was to be brother to the wife of the sheriff. Still, I s'pose he don't deserve what's befell him. We would've considered paying the ransom, if we'd had caps to spare."

Johnson Nash Clearly showed annoyance at Beagle.

"Ok, crew we're going into the Bison Steve Casino and Hotel to rescue Deputy Beagle and kill everything else that gets in our way. No matter who or what it is. Mauh hahaha hahaha! Ow! Dammit, I bit my tongue again why does this always happen."

Six Shouted like a madman.

"Don't worry Big Guy, I still love you, even though you're pretty much insane."

Giggling Rebecca told Six.

Six grinned like a madman as Rebecca giggled by his side. His wild energy was contagious, and the rest of the crew couldn't help but smirk at his antics. He gave a mock salute to Johnson Nash, who still had his gun raised but was clearly starting to realize that Six wasn't just another wandering wastelander.

"Alright, let's get this show on the road!"

Six declared, grabbing his gear and motioning to the rest of the crew to follow.

The group made their way out of the casino and towards the Bison Steve Hotel, which was now a makeshift stronghold for the Powder Gangers. The tension in the air thickened as they approached the building, but Six showed no signs of worry. He relished moments like these—the thrill of danger, the promise of chaos.

As they entered, Six's eyes darted around, assessing the situation. Powder Gangers had barricaded themselves, taking cover behind tables and walls. They were clearly prepared for a fight, but they had no idea who they were up against. Hearing someone entered one Powder Ganger stood up to open fire, but Six quickly blew a hole in his head with his pistol in less than a second with Vats.

Six smirked and cracked his knuckles.

"Alright, you guys know the drill. Kill everything that moves, except the deputy. Let's make this quick."

Rebecca gave him a playful wink as she cocked Gutz, ready for the carnage that was about to unfold. The rest of the crew followed suit, and soon enough, the sounds of gunfire and chaos filled the air. Leaving Six with ED-E, all by their lonesome.

"See this. This is why you're my favorite ED-E. You'll never leave me behind like the rest, right buddy? Unlike my wife who also left, bah."

Six then hugged ED-E.
