Chapter 155: TV Shows Are Fake
Xiang Ning dropped his smile after Fang Hao left. He was worried because he detected the same scent on him as the beasts that were captured in the lab. His attire was also the standard worn for long-term survival out in the wilderness. It was easy to deduce that Fang Hao had been sent to investigate the beast that originated from another planet: Balamu, the Octoviolet Silversnake.
Or to be more precise, he had encountered it.
But since he had safely arrived within the fortress, there shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Plus, he was strong. If he couldn’t solve it, how could a mere tier two martial artist like Xiang Ning solve it? He stopped thinking and kept the barrier crystal. To be able to negate an attack from a tier three beast, he could finally try his luck against one in the wilderness. I wonder if I can take on a tier three beast with my cultivation as a tier two, six-star martial artist and tier two, nine-star spiritual cultivator...
Once he finished organizing his items, he carried his iridium sword and arrived at a large screen. It was filled with information regarding the current beast stampede.
The most striking information was the ranking board. Those on the ranking were experts that had killed beasts worth tens of millions of dollars, especially the one in the first place. The one in the first place had killed beasts amounting to over a hundred and seventy million dollars, and it was still increasing.
Wu Rui noticed him and said, “Want to have a bet with me?”
Xiang Ning smiled. “Sure, if I win you’ll have a match with me. And if you win, you’ll have a match with me too.”
Wu Rui didn’t know what to say, so he just turned and left. Why does he keep challenging me? Did he get addicted after breaking through from fighting me in a single match?
But just as he left, Xiang Ning suddenly ran forward and kicked him, knocking him far away.
Fury Points +111“You crazy psycho!” Wu Rui spat out dust from his mouth.
Just as he wanted to smack Xiang Ning, a large transport ship fell out from the sky. There was black smoke rising from it and a single flying beast was attacking it.
Bang! A giant explosion rang out as the ship hit the ground and carved a giant gorge. The path of the ship was exactly where Wu Rui had been standing. Wu Rui powerlessly slumped down. Just one more second and he would be dead meat. After gathering his strength, he stood up and saw that Xiang Ning was standing in front of the ship. The flying beast was pinned under the nose of the ship.
“Are you crazy?! That’s a tier four flying beast, a Void Vulture!” Wu Rui shouted like crazy. He didn’t know how a ship could be damaged by a Void Vulture, but he knew that it wasn’t a weak beast. Void Vultures had a very high danger rating with very high speed and strong attacks. Even a five-man group comprised of tier four martial artists could potentially be wiped out if they were careless.
But Xiang Ning couldn’t care less and controlled his flying knives. The Void Vulture was pinned down by the ship; it was a golden opportunity to slay it now! With his Peak Mastery Telekinesis, the speed and strength of each of his knives were on par with a tier three middle stage spiritual cultivator. But he wasn’t sure if it would be enough to kill a tier four beast. At the very least, he should stall for time until stronger martial artists arrived.
Plus, he saw who was in the cockpit. It was the same delivery girl from yesterday.
Why is this troublemaker here?
The Void Vulture saw a human approaching it and struggled fiercer.
Xiang Ning poured all of his strength into a single flying knife and shot it forward.
The Void Vulture felt like it was being insulted and was angered. How dare a mere human try to kill me! It steeled its wing that wasn’t pinned by the jet and hardened its feather before sending a giant gust of wind toward Xiang Ning. A sound of metal clashing was heard as Xiang Ning’s flying knife was deflected and flew out of his range of control. Xiang Ning was also blown back by the strong wind.
“My god! Don’t die on me!” Wu Rui shouted. He saw that the gust of wind was as strong as an air cannon that hit Xiang Ning in point-blank range.
Xiang Ning’s skin was ripped apart as blood flowed out.
While Wu Rui hated him, he still took the risk and dragged him back to a safer distance. “Do you want to die?! A Beast General is nowhere near as weak as a Beast Soldier!”
In his current state, except for his combat clothes, Xiang Ning was bleeding from multiple cuts. But he still laughed.
Experience Points +3345
Tier two, six-star martial artist (3345/10000)
In just a single attack, he had collected a third of the experience points he needed to break through. He wanted to stand up, but he suddenly felt lightheaded as his wounds opened up, causing him to whimper in pain.
“Don’t stand up, you idiot!” Wu Rui continued dragging him back.
“Don’t stop me! Let me go! I’ll be fine! Someone is still on the ship!” Xiang Ning struggled to break free. Experience, rescue, slaying the beast, I want to do everything!
“You psycho!” Wu Rui couldn’t handle his struggle so he tried to chop the back of Xiang Ning’s neck, just like in TV shows. Hmm? No reaction? But he stopped struggling? Did I succeed?
But then he saw Xiang Ning slowly twist his neck toward him. His face was covered in his blood and he looked like a ghost in a horror movie.
“Hehe… I see that you didn’t pass out.” Wu Rui was horrified by his appearance. TV shows were fake! He couldn’t make Xiang Ning pass out.
Xiang Ning rolled his eyes and rushed back to the Void Vulture. He consumed a full recovery pill to completely recover his strength.
“You bastard! Do you want to die?!” Wu Rui had never seen someone so reckless. That was a tier four beast!
In an instant, three knives were sent flying toward the beast while Xiang Ning held his long sword.
Activate Keen Observation and Combat Instinct!
In Xiang Ning’s eyes, the openings and blind spots of the beast were laid bare. Luckily, the beast was pinned down by the ship. He was lucky last time, because it didn’t take him too seriously, but now he would slay it!
