Chapter 170: Aurig
Back at home, Xiang Ning saw his sister returning from her training.
“Brother, you’ve returned!” she cheerfully laughed as she ran up to him and showed him the results of her training. It was hard to believe that she was now a tier one, four-star spiritual cultivator.
Her potential was limitless!
When Xiang Ning was just enrolled in upper secondary, almost everyone there was in the Physical Tempering Stage, and only a few of them were martial artists. Mental Power was even harder to cultivate compared to training their physical body. His sister was even faster than the spiritual cultivator in his class by at least three years!
“Good job! Keep training and don’t forget to control yourself. If any boys come within a one-meter radius of you, make sure to punish them!” Xiang Ning patted her head.
She protested, “Brother, I won’t have any friends if I were to do that.”
“Fine, 1.01 meters then,” he chuckled.
The two playfully bickered with each other as they entered the house.
......
On the other side of the globe, at Aurig Central Academy.Aurig Central Academy was one of the top ten academies in the world. Every year, countless martial artists and spiritual cultivators graduated from here, and every one of them were excellent fighters. Some even called it the fighter’s academy.
The academy was just slightly smaller than Marsh City. It had everything inside it, from entertainment outlets to commercial districts. Every single part of it was constructed by the various influential families of the students. That was also why it was the first noble school in North America.
Sakar was a student there.
As for the central part of the academy, it was a beautifully decorated palace. One of the doors inside had a plaque that read ‘Student Council Office’.
“Sakar, why’d you come back? And you look so disheveled.” A boy with golden hair and a beautiful face was sitting on a sofa made from the hide of a tier six Beast General. He was looking at Sakar, who was bowing toward him.
“President Tulip, I chose to come back this time because I need to pass you a report.” Sakar started shaking as he recollected how he had been defeated by that monster back at Hanwu Academy.
“Report? Can’t you just send it through the mail? Don’t you know how much it costs for a return trip?” Nathan steepled his fingers as his eyes grew sharp.
Nathan Tulip was the successor of the Tulip household, one of the four most influential households in North America. He had the title of ‘Son of God’, granted only to the people with the strongest potential. At sixteen years old he had already cultivated both his Mental Power and physical body to tier three, and was just a step away from tier four. He had the potential to break the record of becoming the youngest tier seven in the world. He was also the president of the student council of Aurig Central Academy. His strength was undisputed.
“President Tulip, this is information that was restricted by the Chinese military. There was no way to transmit it from there. I almost didn’t manage to bring it back here this time.” Sakar tried pleading the importance of the report to Nathan.
“Oh? Did a ‘Chosen One’ appear in China?”
It was a title granted to prodigies here in North America and originated from the title ‘Son of God’ that was held by Nathan Tulip.
“Yes! He also has the potential to be as strong as you! His strength is exceedingly scary!” Sakar passed a data chip to the secretary of the student council, Natalia Violet. She also originated from one of the four most influential households, the Violet household.
Under Nathan’s signal, she inserted the chip into a projector. Soon, a video of Xiang Ning’s fight in Hanwu Academy played.
Nathan was displeased when he saw the fight. “Just like this?” He felt humiliated. How could Sakar compare a tier two martial artist to him?
Sakar felt the pressure and added on more information. “I checked and found out that he was just in the Physical Tempering Stage half a year ago. I also confirmed that he’s also a dual cultivator.”
When Sakar said that, Nathan immediately grew interested. “I see... this sounds interesting. Just in time, too, because I have a meeting with another ‘Chosen One’ in the North Star City of China. Change my schedule, let’s go to Marsh City first.”
The secretary nodded and made the necessary arrangements.
......
The next day was the final day of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Xiang Ning went to the lab as usual, but this time he was there to participate in solving the equations needed for the development of spatial rings.
Truth to be told, his position there was awkward. He was a disciple of Dong Qianyi, and had some potential. He even followed Old Jin and had solved many of the equations, or rather, even though it wasn’t done by him, the solutions were still inspired by things he had said. He could have been properly nurtured, but after a few mishaps, everyone was already questioning him.
So when the researchers saw Xiang Ning, only Old Jin was happy.
“Xiang Ning! You’re here! You scared me yesterday. Having the passion to learn may be good, but you have to take care of your body!” Old Jin laughed.
When Xiang Ning heard what Old Jin said, he felt self-conscious. He coughed and sheepishly said, “No worries! After yesterday I can finally use professional terms to explain my thinking.”
Xiang Ning confidently said that, but nobody there could believe him. It would feel weird to them when he said something proper after everything he had said the last few times.
That said, they were finally back on the right track. Still, they were very nervous. That was based on the fact that Xiang Ning had complete mastery of spatial planes. If he suddenly said that the data looked weird and needed them to tweak it without specifying anything, they would’ve killed him.
“Sure, sure. Come, let me know. How should I solve this equation?” Old Jin showed him an equation that had stumped them for a day.
Everyone stared at Xiang Ning in suspense. They wanted to see if he was telling the truth.
Xiang Ning nodded. It was time to showcase his talent.
After thirty seconds, he started moving his hands. He tried to explain the concept as the information flowed out from his brain. He was able to flawlessly explain what he wanted to express.
