Chapter 6: Chapter 6

At U.A. the examiners as well as the pro hero staff looked over the cumulative results of the practical exam.

"I still can't believe he scored so high with only villain points." A female examiner said, watching the footage of 'Katsuki Bakugo' on the screen.

"Is that really what caught your attention?" Another person asked, his voice strained as he focused on the other stunning result.

"I'm barely wrapping my head around it. 99 points… It's been a while since someone scored that high." The woman said, still in disbelief.

The screen then changed to show the footage of 'Asahi Kaneko' during the exam. The boy moved with the speed of someone with a speed related quirk.

"According to his record, the name of his quirk is Energy but there's not much in here about it. I'd understand if it was only speed and strength but what about the electricity he used?" A man wondered out loud.

Neither noticed the narrowed eyes of the shrunken man who also analyzed the results.

"Maybe it's one of those quirks that have more than one use." Somebody else suggested in an unsure tone.

Sometimes when quirks are registered, their full scope is not known or are misunderstood until much later. Citizens are allowed to update their quirk registry in cases such as this.

Still, it was a noteworthy feat. The record for the highest score in U.A.'s entrance exam was held by All Might with Endeavor coming in second. Asahi's score of 99 now sat him at number three in that record.

It was truly a thing to look out for.

-[Asahi]-

There was a brief month between the announcement of the exam results and the date for the beginning of U.A.'s academic session.

During that time, I learnt a lot about my quirk. One important thing being that I could still sense the energy in an empowered object. With that realization, it only made sense that I should be able to take back the energy.

I was half right. While I could call back the energy, I would only get a bit over half of it back and, obviously, the object would lose the empowered effect. It wasn't perfect but it's useful, I could already think of a few ways to apply it.

Another thing I noted was that the more I used it, the more my pool of energy grew. It was subtle but after the first few days that I spent using it heavily, I noticed that gradual growth.

A quirk is like a muscle, meaning that it develops the more it is used.

With how much I'd used it so far, it had grown by almost thirty percent. I couldn't help but wonder how much energy I would have if I was able to use it from the start.

Next came what was probably my most important observation yet. There's a limit to the number of effects that can be imbued into an object. So far, the limit was four, any more than that and the item would fall apart. A few of my clothes could testify to that.

I theorized that too many clusters of energy in an object doing different thing might be what causes it.

Even with that limitation, it still left a lot of room for me to work with. I'd even empowered some of my everyday items to make life a bit easier.

My phone was currently empowered with three effects; one that gave it practically infinite charge, eliminating the need to ever charge it, another that boosted its signal and one that prevented said signal from being jammed.

My computer also now ran on infinite charge but I discovered something else I could do. Rather than empowering the computer as a whole, I could empower individual parts of it.

I may not be a master engineer but that's what the internet is for. Disassembling it wasn't too difficult. The processor and graphics card were empowered to increase processing speed. The storage drive was empowered to be able to store far more data than it should have been able to. I went simple for the motherboard and Network Interface Card, empowering it to boost efficiency.

Just to be on the safe side, I also empowered the cooling system to make sure it didn't overheat.

Safe to say, I now own what was probably one of the best computers in the world. My quirk is the best.

Xx-Xx-Xx

I felt like a fool. I'd found an answer to my storage problem and it was much simpler than I thought. I initially thought of empowering a bag or pouch with an expanded space effect but that wouldn't be necessary.

My hand now sported another ring on its finger. Imbuing a spatial storage effect took a great deal of energy from me but in the end, it worked. I got the idea from Thirteen's black hole quirk.

Another issue was U.A.'s dress code but that is a minor issue. With my limit of four effects per item, I had room to add an invisibility effect to the rings and pendant on my fingers and neck respectively.

Watching my phone vanish and later reappear in my hand was a novel experience I doubt I'd get tired of anytime soon.

-[Aizawa]-

Looking at the roster of the class he would be teaching this year, he couldn't help but frown. There was the kid who broke his body from using his quirk then there was the one whose quirk information was just barely matching his performance.

The rest of the roster had some mildly interesting students but he could already foresee these two being a headache to handle.

One of the reasons he worked at U.A. was because his heroics schedule was basically all night, leaving the early hours of his day free. Of course that left him drained but Nezu was pretty convincing when he wanted to be.

That and he was honoring his best friend's word.

'Oboro…' Even after years had passed, it was still fresh in his mind. His best friend first brought up teaching to him.

He was harsh to those he taught because he wanted to push them higher. He'd rather crush their dreams of being heroes while in U.A. rather than let them go out there and get themselves killed.

Sure All Might was a symbol of peace but he also inspired overconfidence in some youths who wanted to emulate him. Self sacrifice was the way of heroes but there was a difference between self sacrifice and throwing one's life away.

He didn't want to see students throw their lives away. Scanning the roster once more, he could only let out a sigh.

"Problem kids."
