From Earth to Infinity: A Second Chance

Chapter 43: New mission

Over the next few days, life began to settle into a routine. With my mom's assistance, Haku was enrolled in the Ninja Academy, helping her integrate further into the village. I had already shared Haku's entire story with my mom, who, instead of being angry at Haku, directed her frustration toward those who had caused her pain.

I also took this time to share my dream with Haku, and she expressed her desire to support me in achieving it. This deepened our bond, and our relationship evolved into something more—Haku officially became my sixth girlfriend. Now, my list of partners included Hinata, Sakura, Ino, Tenten, Kurenai, and Haku.

There were still three other women on my mind: Tsunade, Yugao, and Shizune. I was already quite close with them, and with a bit more effort, I felt confident that they would soon join my circle of lovers.

After the success of our previous mission, Team 7 was assigned a new mission: protecting the famous actress Yukie Fujikaze. I was thrilled, not only because I loved her movies but also because I had already set my sights on including her in my future harem. The mission involved escorting her to the Land of Snow, making it even more exciting.

"She's my favorite actress, and we get to protect and escort her to the Land of Snow. This is going to be amazing!" I said, excitement evident in my voice.

"Alright then, let's meet at the village gate in half an hour," Kakashi instructed before departing to prepare.

We said our goodbyes to Haku and our parents before setting out. Half an hour later, we were all gathered at the village gate, though Kakashi, as usual, was running late. Once he finally arrived, we began our journey, heading out of the village.

The mission details indicated that Yukie Fujikaze was currently on set, actively filming her latest movie. After a week of travel, we arrived at the shooting location, ready to meet the actress and ensure her safety for the duration of the mission.

Yukie was startled when she heard my voice, and as she glanced back at me in surprise, she lost focus on riding. The horse reared up, and Yukie struggled to regain control. I quickly reached forward, grabbing the reins to steady the horse and prevent us from falling.

When we reached the filming location, there was quite a commotion. Yukie Fujikaze was being chased by a group of people, and we were about to step in to help when Kakashi stopped us. "The people chasing her are from the production team, led by Sandayuu-san," he explained, indicating it wasn't an immediate threat.

Despite Kakashi's clarification, I still took action, swiftly catching up to Yukie with my speed. I managed to intercept her, ready to assess the situation more closely and find out what was going on.

As I got closer, I saw that Yukie Fujikaze was just as stunning in person as she appeared on screen. She was riding a horse, trying to make her escape from the film crew pursuing her. Without her realizing, I leaped onto the horse and settled in right behind her, matching her pace effortlessly.

It wasn't until a few moments later that she sensed my presence and turned in surprise. "What do you think you're doing?" she demanded, clearly taken aback.

As she turned and saw me, her eyes widened in panic, and she briefly lost focus on the reins. The horse, sensing her distraction, began to veer off course, its pace becoming erratic. I quickly reached around her, grabbing the reins to steady the horse.

"Easy there," I said, calming the horse down as it settled. "I'm here to help, not to harm you. We're your protection detail from the Hidden Leaf Village."

She seemed skeptical, glancing between me and the group chasing her. "If you're my protection, why didn't you stop them sooner?" she snapped, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.

"They're actually part of the movie crew trying to get you back," I explained, holding her gaze. "We were sent here to keep you safe and escort you to the Land of Snow. So, care to tell me why you're running away from your own film crew?"

Her expression remained stoic, but the subtle tremor in her voice betrayed the fear she was trying to hide. "You don't understand," she replied, her tone unwavering. "The Land of Snow isn't just dangerous—it's a place I vowed never to return to."

Her words were firm, but there was a subtle tremor in her voice that betrayed her fear. "I'm not going to the Land of Snow, even for the movie," she repeated, her tone flat but her eyes darting with unease.

I tightened my grip on the reins, steadying the horse as it slowed down. "You seem scared," I observed, keeping my voice gentle. "If there's something you're afraid of, you can tell me. We're not just here to escort you for a movie; we're here to protect you."

She glanced away, her jaw tightening. "You don't understand," she muttered. "Going there... it's not just about filming. There are things in the Land of Snow I can't face."

I could see there was more to this than she was letting on, and I knew I had to find out what it was if we were going to fulfill our mission. "Well, whatever it is, you're not alone," I said. "Let's get back to the others, and we can figure it out together"

For a moment, there was a flicker of hesitation in her eyes, as though she wanted to believe me. But then, she turned her face away, her jaw tightening. "You can't protect me from everything."
