From Sword to Slaughter: Evolution

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Tiangu Mountains

Cough, cough...

"Damn it... still not fully recovered."

Meanwhile, in another location, a one-armed man was warming himself by a campfire.

Lin San!

He wasn't dead.

After losing his arm, his body had become weaker, and his injuries had not fully healed.

"Lin San, are you alright?" a concerned woman sitting across from him asked.

"I'm fine," Lin San shook his head, though a shadow of frustration crossed his face.

"Yao Zhan..." he muttered to himself.

Without the Yao Zhan Sword, his strength had greatly diminished. Especially now, with his arm gone, his combat abilities were severely compromised.

However, Lin San was aware of the secrets hidden within the Yao Zhan Sword. He had already experienced one of its abilities, [Bloodthirsty Frenzy], which was a dangerously "demonic" power.

"But now, with my current strength..." Lin San forced a bitter smile.

His right arm was gone, leaving him almost incapable of fighting.

"Left-handed swordsmanship."

"I need to practice using my left hand," Lin San resolved firmly.

...

At the same time, Ren Xing had arrived at the foot of the Tiangu Mountains.

As he approached, he saw several Lion Mercenary Group members guarding the entrance.

"This path is closed," one of the guards said, barely glancing at them before returning to his post.

Ren Xing quickly noted that these mercenaries were equipped with gear far superior to the guards in Star City or even the members of the Steel Iron Mercenary Group. Even Huang Conghui looked on with envy.

"I'm here to see your leader," Ren Xing said, stepping forward with a confident smile.

"Our leader?" one of the Lion Mercenary Group members raised an eyebrow.

They eyed Ren Xing's group with suspicion. These men didn't look like they came with good intentions.

"What do you want?" the guard asked, frowning.

"As I said, I'm here to see your leader," Ren Xing repeated calmly.

Huang Conghui smirked, but one of the guards sneered, "A bunch of nobodies wants to see our leader?"

"Who are you calling nobodies?" Huang Conghui's face darkened.

"The Steel Iron Mercenary Group is nothing but a joke," the guard said mockingly.

"You..." Huang Conghui's expression turned ugly, and he prepared to strike when Ren Xing raised a hand to stop him.

"Are you sure you won't let me see your leader?" Ren Xing's gaze locked onto the guard.

"Get lost," the guard spat out coldly.

As soon as the word left his mouth, Ren Xing drew his sword.

Swish!

The moment the Yao Zhan Sword was unsheathed, a cold gleam flashed. The guard barely had time to raise his weapon before his head fell to the ground.

[Killed a third-tier warrior. Gained 300 evolution points.]

"This Ren Xing is even more ruthless than Lin San," Ye Fan commented from within the sword.

He watched the scene with mild amusement. Was Ren Xing planning to kill the entire mercenary group?

It certainly seemed that way, and Ye Fan found himself entertained by the unfolding "plot" as if he were observing a story from an omniscient perspective.

"You..." The remaining Lion Mercenary Group members were struck with horror. They hadn't expected Ren Xing to kill one of their own so suddenly.

"I told you, I want to see your leader," Ren Xing said, his voice calm but laced with menace.

"You're looking for death!" The rest of the guards roared in anger and immediately charged at Ren Xing.

"No need," Ren Xing said, motioning for Huang Conghui and his men to stay back.

As the mercenaries lunged at him, Ren Xing swung the Yao Zhan Sword again.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

With each swing of the sword, their weapons shattered like glass, reduced to nothing more than scrap metal.

Their eyes widened in disbelief. These weren't ordinary weapons, yet they were sliced through as if they were made of paper!

"Die!" Ren Xing laughed maniacally, slashing through the remaining mercenaries with ease.

Without using any elaborate techniques, Ren Xing dispatched all of them with the sheer power of his sixth-tier strength and the sharpness of the Yao Zhan Sword. One by one, they fell, their bodies crumpling into pools of blood.

Huang Conghui and the others stood behind Ren Xing, their expressions filled with awe and fear. They had witnessed Ren Xing's power before, but today, it felt even more terrifying.

Ren Xing then plunged the Yao Zhan Sword into the corpses, allowing the sword to absorb their blood.

[Absorbed the blood of a third-tier warrior. Gained 0.3 energy points.]

...

As the system notifications continued to ring in Ye Fan's mind, Ren Xing's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"The blade is sharper," Ren Xing muttered, admiring the sword.

With each drop of blood the Yao Zhan Sword absorbed, its sharpness increased.

The sharper the sword became, the more invincible Ren Xing would be.

"Let's move," Ren Xing said, wiping the blood from the sword and striding forward.

Huang Conghui and the others quickly followed.

"This is the Tiangu Mountains..." Huang Conghui whispered in awe as they entered the range.

The Tiangu Mountains were said to be rich in resources but were tightly controlled by the Lion Mercenary Group, backed by powerful connections. Few dared to venture into these parts.

"Huang, look! That's a vein of Chijin Ore!" one of the Steel Iron Mercenary Group members cried out in excitement.

Huang Conghui turned to where the man was pointing and gasped. "Chijin Ore!"

A large chunk of Chijin Ore lay embedded in the mountainside. This material was crucial in forging B-grade weapons.

"With so much Chijin Ore, who knows how many B-grade weapons we could make..." Huang Conghui murmured to himself, astonished.

"All of this is ours now. You can start mining," Ren Xing said dismissively.

He had no interest in the Chijin Ore or any other materials. After all, the Yao Zhan Sword in his hand was far superior to any weapon these ores could produce.
