Chapter 104: Chapter-101

"Crack!" Just as Merlin and his team focused on the chaos unfolding in Los Angeles, a flash of white light hit Stark, who was standing nearby, knocking him down from the sky.

"Bang!" Stark quickly stabilized himself before landing firmly on the chaotic street below.

"Ha!" An infected figure lunged at him, its sharp fangs aiming for his neck.

"Crack!" But as the creature bit down, its teeth shattered on impact, causing blood to splatter everywhere. Stark elbowed the infected attacker back, then fired a palm cannon directly at its head.

"Bang!" The creature's dark head exploded, leaving its body twitching on the ground, regenerating even as it lay still. Blood from nearby sources made the infected and vampire aliens stronger, their self-healing powers constantly fueled by the environment around them. In the crowded urban terrain, humans without specialized weapons like silver or purple light were easy prey, and the infection spread faster as more of them fell victim to the creatures.

Ignoring the infected bodies gathering behind him, Stark turned his attention forward, cautiously scanning for threats.

"Crack!" Suddenly, Mourning Whip landed in front of him, clad in reinforced battle armor. He swung his electrified whips, effortlessly knocking away any infected attackers around him. Stark quickly fired an electromagnetic pulse in retaliation.

"Buzz!" Powerful electromagnetic waves hit Mourning Whip's armor, but this time, he was prepared.

"Stark! You really think I'd fall for that twice?" Mourning Whip sneered, his whips coiling around Stark's neck and delivering a powerful electric shock that disrupted his suit's circuitry.

"Let him go!" In the sky above, Rhodes arrived in the Iron Patriot, unleashing his Vulcan cannon in a hail of bullets. Sparks flew as Mourning Whip's armor staggered under the impact, although it remained undamaged.

"Bang!" Mourning Whip whipped towards Rhodes, slicing the Vulcan cannon clean off the Iron Patriot suit. Stark managed to recover, only to be ambushed again as a dark figure emerged from the shadows, tackling him to the ground.

"Ha!!!" The vampire alien above him roared, fangs snapping dangerously close to Stark's face.

"Oh, gross!" Stark grimaced, firing a palm cannon at the creature and sending it flying, green blood splattering as it hit the ground. The alien quickly retreated into the darkness, leaving a trail of corrosive blood on Stark's armor. Stark noticed the damage and frowned—if not for the titanium alloy, the corrosive blood might've eaten through his suit entirely.

"Stark, watch out!" Rhodes shouted urgently.

Stark turned to see an electric whip arcing toward his face. At that moment, Gwen leaped in, wrapping her spider silk around the whip and yanking it back.

"Hey, big guy! Over here!" she taunted.

"Bang!" Mourning Whip turned just in time to see Gwen land a powerful kick to his waist. With a sickening crack, the armor around his waist twisted under the impact, and Mourning Whip was launched across the street, smashing through a streetlight and crashing into a building. A cloud of debris rose from the impact.

"Nice work!" Merlin gave Gwen a thumbs-up, impressed by her strength.

Gwen flashed a quick thumbs-up in return. "This guy's armor is crazy tough," she noted, turning to Rhodes, who sighed.

"This guy's built like a tank," Rhodes said into the headset. Stark, out of immediate options, began to power up his high-powered laser.

Before he could fire, another alien lunged at him from the shadows. Stark dodged, his eyes catching a glint of his own melted armor. An idea sparked in his mind.

Meanwhile, in the rubble-filled pit, Mourning Whip slowly staggered out, clutching his waist.

"Hey, Ivan! Over here!" Stark called. Mourning Whip looked up just as a huge vampire alien was hurled toward him.

"Biu! Biu!" Merlin launched several micro-missiles that struck the alien mid-air, covering it in green blood that splattered over Mourning Whip as he stood below.

"Ssss..." Ivan froze, feeling a searing pain as the alien's blood burned through his armor and flesh. The acidic smoke rising around him filled the air with the smell of scorched metal.

"Ahhh!!!" he screamed in agony, the corrosive blood continuing to eat away at his armor and flesh.

"Oh, man, that looks painful," Gwen said, wincing as she took a few steps back.

As the smoke cleared and Mourning Whip lay still, Stark cautiously approached, confirming his life status before bending to inspect the damage.

"Oh… rough," Stark murmured, quickly turning away from the gruesome sight of broken bones and fused armor.
