Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Blizzard
The two arrows infused with intense Pyro energy flew through the air, landing perfectly on the heads of two Hilichurl Shamans, thanks to Amber's impressive archery skills.
"Argh!"
"Grr!!"
The Hilichurls erupted in fury as they realized their companions had been ambushed. The Frostarm Lawachurl, in particular, was enraged—how dare someone attack its followers right under its nose! If it let this slide, where would its authority be? How would it maintain its dominance over its minions?
Without waiting to identify the attackers, the Hilichurl mob charged in the direction of the arrows' origin, driven by their survival instincts honed in harsh environments. Their course headed straight toward Nolan and his team's hiding spot.
"Go, Baron Bunny!" Amber quickly pulled out a Baron Bunny explosive toy from her Vision and threw it down the snow-covered path.
As it landed, Baron Bunny began its signature taunting dance, wiggling its hips provocatively.
Sure enough, the low-intelligence Hilichurls focused their attention on Baron Bunny, mistaking it for the culprit behind the ambush. Redirecting their path, they charged straight for the decoy. Even the archer Hilichurls took aim at the taunting figure.
"Perfect timing!"
Seeing all the monsters distracted by the dancing Baron Bunny, Nolan pulled his Moonlight Greatsword from his "Wonderland."
With the Frostarm Lawachurl's attention diverted, he sprinted forward, his heavy blade at the ready.
The distance of several dozen meters was nothing for Nolan. In an instant, he seemed to ignore the spatial gap, appearing in midair above the Frostarm Lawachurl's head.
No elemental power, no Sword Intent—just pure brute force. Gripping his greatsword tightly, he swung it down hard on the Frostarm Lawachurl's head.
Whoosh!
The greatsword cut through the air and landed with a smash. Even the mighty Frostarm Lawachurl couldn't react in time, taking a direct hit! Its diamond-like icy mask shattered instantly, and the impact forced its massive form to stumble back, plowing two deep trails into the snow.
The sudden commotion stunned the other Hilichurls, who had been focused on the dancing Baron Bunny. Watching their "boss" reel from the blow, they grew silent, momentarily frozen in place. The only sound was Baron Bunny still wiggling away in its taunting dance.
"Grrr!!"
But the Frostarm Lawachurl didn't let its minions down. Despite taking a heavy hit and having its mask shattered, it defiantly roared to the sky, displaying its unyielding spirit!
"Argh!"
"Arghh!!"
The other Hilichurls, seeing their leader unharmed, cheered excitedly and threw mocking glances at Nolan, who had just landed on the ground. Their expressions seemed to say:
"See, foolish human! You dared to ambush our boss—soon it'll tear you apart!"
And it seemed things were indeed heading that way. Under the encouraging gazes of its minions, the Frostarm Lawachurl began advancing toward Nolan with heavy, deliberate steps.
"Oh? Didn't expect your head to be that tough," Nolan remarked with mild surprise. Based on his assessment, that strike should have been enough to take it down, even without elemental power.
After all, the gap in strength was obvious.
No big deal—just a slight miscalculation. Nolan watched the Frostarm Lawachurl approaching, single-handedly lifting his greatsword, ready to jump in for another strike.
Just as he was about to launch himself, the Lawachurl's leg suddenly buckled. It crashed forward into the snow with a heavy thud, sending up a flurry of powder as its massive body partially sank into the snowbank.

Nolan glanced at the system message that popped up, letting out a sigh of relief. "Whew, that was a scare—I thought this Lawachurl was actually strong enough to withstand my hit!"
Meanwhile, the other Hilichurls stared in shock, their hearts pounding as panic began to spread among them. They hadn't anticipated this human would be powerful enough to bring down their leader with a single strike.
These Hilichurls, while simple-minded, weren't without some instinctive intelligence. The urge to flee surged within them, as they'd already decided that this human was unbeatable. Yet, the fear of being the first to bolt—drawing Nolan's attention—kept them frozen in place. This hesitation sealed their fate.
After all that dancing, Baron Bunny finally reached its limit.
Boom!
The toy suddenly exploded with massive force, kicking up a wave of snow like a smoke bomb, obscuring the Hilichurls' vision. Eula, who had been lying in wait, seized the moment, diving into the snowy haze to begin her hunting spree.
Nolan and Amber also sprang into action. Whenever a Hilichurl stumbled blindly out of the snow cloud, they quickly dispatched it, ending its brief reign of terror.
In a matter of moments, the snow settled, revealing a field of Hilichurl bodies strewn across the white ground. Amber exhaled, wiping her forehead even though she hadn't broken a sweat. "Phew, that's that! Now we can press on, and the other adventurers don't have to worry about being ambushed."
"Right," Nolan sheathed his greatsword with a grin. "So, did you see how cool my strike on the Frostarm Lawachurl was? Pretty powerful, wasn't it?"
Amber nodded enthusiastically. "Definitely! Knocking that Lawachurl back ten meters with a single blow—what strength!"

Pleased, Nolan turned his attention to Eula, hoping to score some points with her as well.
"Hmph, it was... alright, I suppose. Nothing worth bragging about," Eula replied with a touch of feigned indifference.
Though, in truth, she had been quite impressed by that strike—it was comparable to her own strength. Not bad at all. In fact, she found herself looking forward to a sparring match with him once their mission was over!

"Alright, let's save the talk for later. Let's get moving and exchange some combat insights on the way—once the crowds arrive, it'll be harder to make progress."
Nolan smiled, knowing full well that curious adventurers would want to know who took down such powerful monsters and would inevitably swarm them for details.
"Fair enough," Eula and Amber agreed.
The group resumed their ascent up the mountain. After a little while, maybe a hundred meters further, snow began to fall—and soon turned into a heavy blizzard.
