Chapter 89: PET SUPPLIES SHOPPING
I GOT A LIL BIT OF FREE TIME, SO I'M DROPPING THE NEW CHAPTER TODAY :)
-Haruka POV-
"It's Nebelung." That's the first word escaped from Levi's lips. His eyes showed that he's in disbelief. Of course, the Nebelung is often considered one of the rarest cat breeds in the world.
"You sure noticed him the moment you saw him." I said that with a smile.
"Of course. I've been dreaming of meeting one. Does the cafe own him?" Levi asked me.
"He belongs to me starting tomorrow." Again, he showed me his shocked expression.
"Are you kidding me? Nebelung is one of the rarest cats. How did you manage to get him? Not to mention, a kitten at that." He still didn't believe me, and I don't blame him.
"You could say I have my way in getting him, and he's not the only one. I got a ragdoll, too. I figured the cat would be lonely by himself." I said that, making an excuse.
"Can you tell me how you managed to get both of them?" Levi repeated his question, still seeking an answer from me.
"Mattaku. I happen to have a friend who is a breeder, and she happened to have the nebelung kitten. He's the last one. I got the ragdoll kitten from her also. Did that answer your question?" I asked him while rolling my eyes.
"Yeah, it did. But why did you suddenly want to adopt a cat? You don't really like cats." Another question, and I already prepared the answer for this.
"It's just a little bit lonely living in that big penthouse alone. So, having cats to accompany me is not that bad, I think." I guess that answer is acceptable for me.
"Then, why did you choose nebelung and ragdoll when you said you do know Persian and Maine Coon? Is it because of me?" He asked me a question again, and wow. I did expect this, but honestly I didn't prepare an answer for that.
"That doesn't have anything to do with you. Let's go back home now. I already asked my driver to pick us up." I changed the topic. Right, that's the only way.
"Go back home? Are you not going to bring them back today?" He asked me in confusion.
"They'll be coming tomorrow evening." I replied shortly.
"Did you already buy all the cat supplies needed?" He keeps asking more questions.
"Not yet."
"Then we should go shopping for the kittens' supplies tomorrow!" He said that excitedly. Wait, tomorrow? We?
-The Next Day at Haruka's Place-
Levi Ackerman is standing in front of my house right now. So, he's not joking about going shopping for cat supplies today.
"Why are you here at this hour? I told you the cats will be arriving this evening." I said that to him with an irritated voice.
"And I did tell you that we'll be going shopping for cat supplies today." He said that while grinning.
"And I never agreed to that." I replied, still irritated.
"But you have to. They're still kittens, and they're still learning. There's a lot you need to buy. Now, go get ready, and I'll wait in the living room. You have 30 minutes." Levi said that and then invited himself in. This jerk, he's treating my place like his own.
"Ugh. I'll go get ready then. Please make yourself at home." I said that sarcastically, and he replied to me in a playful tone. Without saying anything, I brought myself to go upstairs to my room.
"I will!" Levi said that out loud as I made my way towards the stairs.
And just like Levi said, I managed to get ready within 30 minutes time given. I made my way downstairs, and as I stepped on the stairs, I heard the piano melody playing. It's 'Liebesträume No. 3' by Franz Liszt. Don't tell me.
I rushed towards the living room, and there he was. I'm right, it's Levi.
"I didn't know who could play the piano also." I said that, and he stopped playing. He looks at me.
"My mother used to teach me when I was a kid, and I keep learning that in the States." Levi replied while patting on the seat beside him.
"The one you played, 'Liebesträume No. 3' by Franz Liszt. It's considered one of the hardest love songs to play on piano. Did your mother teach you that too?" I asked him. To be honest, those piano pieces are my favourite. A classical love piece. And I didn't expect Levi could play that perfectly.
"You're right. My mother was the one who taught me that. She used to be a pianist when she was in high school." He replied softly with a faint smile, looking at the keyboards.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you sad or anything." I said that in panic. Did I say something wrong?
"Pfft. Don't worry. I'm not sad. It's just, it's been a while since I played." He said that while chuckling. This pure-hearted man.
"You're really good, you know? I bet people who are good at art are also good at music. My mother could also play piano and violin." I said that while chuckling.
"Maybe you're right. I'll teach you piano some other time. But for now, let's go shopping for our babies." He said that excitedly and grabbed my hand to leave the house. Wait, our babies? Since when?
We arrived at the basement parking lot, and again, I was shocked. Not because I'm amazed, but I was dumbfounded.
"Levi, whose car is this?" I asked him, looking at the new Ford F-150 Platinum Plus in front of me. I knew the answer, but I just asked for confirmation. He's not into this kind of car, so maybe it's not his.
"It's my car, of course. I just bought it before coming here. I ordered it last night." He replied with that poker face of his.
"So, you're telling me this is your 12th car? Why did you even buy a new car, by the way? And you're not into 4x4 cars as far as I know." Mattaku, I still didn't get what this guy was thinking.
"You're right. I'm not into 4x4 cars, but I bought them because we're going to shop for the pet supplies for the babies. There's a lot to buy, so there won't be much space if I bring the other cars." He said that while grinning. Wait, did he just say he bought the car just because we're going to buy the cat supplies? That's the only reason?
"Ugh, Levi, I really don't get what's inside your head right now. We can just ask them to deliver everything to my place instead of buying a new car. Yeah, I know you have a lot of money, but don't you think this is a bit too much?" I said that while pinching my forehead. This guy is seriously giving me a headache right now.
"Now we don't have to ask them for that. Besides, that's also for your privacy. Not to let too many people know your address. Now, let's go." He said that while opening the car door for me. I don't know anymore, and I'm tired of arguing with him already. I just hop into the car without saying anything.
-Moustaches Pet Store-
"OMG! Haru-chan, look at all this stuff! Our furball babies are going to love it here. Just imagine them playing with all these." Levi said that excitedly, attracting others' attention. Luckily, we're wearing the face mask.
"Levi, lower your volume, and since when are they our babies? They're my cats." I said that while rolling my eyes.
"Well, I'm still going to call them our babies. Oh, wow. Look at this. A cat tree with multiple platforms. We should buy this also." Levi said while looking at the cat tree he mentioned just now.
"Do we really need to buy this?" I asked him in disbelief.
"Of course! They need a cat tree to play. Kittens tend to be very active, you know." He replied and then kept roaming around the shop.
"Haru-chan, let's look for the food first." Levi said that and grabbed my hand to follow him.
This is my first time here, and there are a lot of cat food types with different brands.
"For the food, I think Royal Canin kitten kibbles are the best. This brand is high quality. So, what do you think?" Levi asked while looking at me.
"I don't know much, so I'll just follow what you say. Just take anything you feel is necessary." I replied, and I didn't expect I would regret it later for saying that.
-45 minutes later-
It's not just me, but I guess everyone in the store is dumbfounded looking at us. I shouldn't have said just take anything he feels is necessary for the cats because he's actually just taken anything he wanted for the cats.
I looked at the trolley and everything he asked from the staff. 5 kg of cat dry food, customised food and water bowl, food container, automated feeder and water fountain, cat litter, automated self-cleaning litter box, litter mat, cat beds and blankets, cat toys and entertainments, which include the large cat tree and small tunnel, grooming supplies, collars, carriers, and not to mention he also bought cat outfits.
"Looks like someone's getting spoiled. First pet?" The cashier asked with a smile while scanning everything.
"Yes. We got two kittens!" Levi replied excitedly.
"OMG! They're so lucky then. By the way, the total is €5000." The cashier said, and of course I was surprised. Who would spend €5000 on the pet supplies only? Right, there's one here. Levi Ackerman.
"Here." Levi gave her his card.
"Let me pay. They're my cats anyway." I tried to stop him.
"It's okay. Just think of this as the present for the babies." He said that with a grin and proceeded to pay.
"Here is the receipt, sir. Would you like us to deliver all this at your house, sir? The cashier asked.
"No need. Just bring them to our car." Levi said to her.
"Alright, I will do it, sir." The cashier replied, and then we exited the store, waiting for them to bring everything we bought.
"Levi, tell me who would spend €5000 on the cat supplies only." I spoke as soon as we arrived at the car.
"It's me." He replied shortly while grinning.
"Right. It's you... I'm speechless, haha." I said that with a fake laugh.
"Well, Haru-chan, how about we go eat first before we go back? How about Café Charlot since we're here?" Levi asked me, trying to change the topic, I guess.
"I don't mind. Anywhere is fine." I replied lazily.
"Good then. Let's get everything inside the car first." The staff arrived in front of Levi's car with everything we bought. Luckily, everything can fit.
//SKIP//
Well, just like Levi asked, here we are at Cafe Charlot for lunch.
"Oh my, isn't it Haruka Charles Auclair and Levi Ackerman?"
