chapter 6
Come to think of it, the score he received when he first recorded the puppy waltz was 32 points. It must have been a huge improvement that it has reached the point where you can get 49 points at least occasionally.
Fingers don’t get faster overnight.
However, the urgent mind can be calmed even in the midst of exhaling.
Match the speed of your heart to the speed of your fingers.
Puppy waltz is said to be attractive in its natural freshness, as if a puppy would jump up at any moment. But now, Rowoon’s performance was creating a soft atmosphere rather than a refreshing one.
Through the bars of the practice room, through the thick branches of trees, the fluttering sunset light is cast. The puppy jumped on top of the piano and looked down at Rowoon with a somewhat drowsy expression unlike usual.
Would Chopin like this performance? No, you probably won’t like it. No matter what Rowoon played now, it was far from satisfying Chopin.
If so, let’s at least play a performance that makes him happy. Let’s play something we can enjoy. It was such a heart.
Even so, the traces of Chopin’s numerous nagging lingers on his fingers.
I don’t know how many recordings I put on one tape. Organized and reorganized his instructions.
Thanks to this, from forte, crescendo, staccato, trill and rubato, Rowoon now naturally follows Chopin’s instructions without even being aware of it.
If there is a difference from before, is it that now, rather than simply being guided by the instructions, do they embrace them?
It was a longer performance than usual. Some might hear this slow performance and say it’s a puppy waltz that has lost its essence, but it didn’t matter.
Rowoon put the Walkman earphones in his ears. And, as always, I waited for the harsh criticism of Chopin to be heard and the announcement of the performance score that would be below expectations.
And Chopin did not escape his expectations.
[This is a message from the composer. ‘I said yes or no, and he was very selfish.’ ]
‘You can do this once. Chopin.’
Rowoon smiled shyly and continued to listen to Walkman’s voice. There were no expectations. but,
[ The playing score is 51 points. ]
[ You have succeeded in completing the race. Composer’s ‘Corrected Notes’ function has been unlocked when the conditions are met. ]
[ To use the ‘Correction Note’ function, press the play button. ]
[Your playing score is over 50, and the basic conditions to unlock Chopin’s Journal have been met. ]
[ To unlock the journal, do Chopin’s homework! ]
[ This is Chopin’s homework. “I will come after receiving the love-filled charms of a stupid puppy.” ]
‘·······.’
Contrary to Chopin’s evaluation, the performance score was beyond his expectations.
passed over
50 points.

smart smart jump!
As soon as the knock rang, the door opened. Chris and Becky, who were enjoying the movie shoulder to shoulder in the dormitory, turned their heads in amazement. Rowoon was looking at Chris with a flushed face.
“Hey, hey, Chris. Wait, wait, help me.”
“Sir, it’s a f*cking surprise. what. Are you crazy?”
“I’m really in a hurry. Ah, Becky. long time no see. Sorry. Were you upset? know. But let’s get angry later, let’s borrow Chris for now. I really need him right now.”
“······theory. Are you on drugs?”
Becky, who had been spending a lot of time with Chris, was realizing in real time that she couldn’t even get angry if she was too ridiculous. Rowoon understood such Becky. But now he had more important things to do than be considerate of Becky.
“Chris, hurry up!”
“I don’t know what it is, but it has to be something important.”
“Hey, hey! chris! are you really going Am I here right now?”
Becky looked at Chris with an absurd expression, as if you were crazy too. Instead of answering right away, Chris lifted Becky up and sat her on the chair. And shrugged.
“Even though Rowoon is a funny guy, he’s not really this funny. Wouldn’t this be pretty important no matter what it really is?”
“······That sounds like the time between you and me right now is not very important. You won’t regret it?”
“Hmm, well.”
Chris crumpled his feet into his sneakers.
“What to do later.”

“Why do you suddenly want to go to my house?”
2007 Ford F150. A red-colored pickup truck with dirt marks everywhere was driving down California’s 10 freeway. In many ways, it was a vehicle that suited Chris. Rowoon said with his gaze on the dark road without a single street light.
“sorry. I tried not to take up your time, but the puppies in the park were wary of me, they didn’t like me.”
“……What do you mean, that?”
“I need puppy love. Right Now.”
“I don’t know what you mean anymore.”
Chris looked at Rowoon as if he was bewildered, then giggled. Although this situation was absurd, it seemed that he did not hate it. Rowoon glanced back at Chris and said in a slightly calmer voice.
“I’m sorry Becky Gunn.”
“what?”
“Looks like things are going well. I think I disturbed you a little.”
“You disturbed me not a little, but a lot.”
Chris said and giggled.
“But don’t worry. I can pout for a few days, but in the end, Becky doesn’t like me.”
“······why?”
“A woman is bound to love me.”
Chris raised his right arm, holding the steering wheel with his left hand. The wild wriggling of his biceps, triceps and forearms silently told him where his confidence was coming from.
‘I think Mila thinks differently.’ Rowoon thought for a moment, but he didn’t dare to say it. Now he had both an obligation and a reason to please Chris.
‘I never thought a puppy’s love would be so expensive.’
After receiving Chopin’s homework, Rowoon ran to the park next to the school. It was because he thought there might be at least one puppy he could pretend to be friendly with.
That idea was half right. Dogs out for a walk with their owners were scattered all over the place. However, among them, there was only one dog that was close enough to him to show aegyo containing ‘love’ to him.
So the conclusion he came to was Chris’ dog. Chris’ home was a 40-minute drive from school, and he had no one to ride him that distance and no one else to take him home.
“You seem a bit alive these days, don’t you?”
“Did you think you were dead before?”
“Tell me what are you doing? It was like a zombie. I thought you were going to audition for The Walking Dead.”
“… Well, I can’t deny it. Because I had no desire.”
“Why did you suddenly change so much?”
Rowoon hesitated for a moment. Can I tell Chris about the Walkman? Of course, I never thought that Chris would do anything wrong if he found out about it. Because the two were closer than brothers. but······.
“It’s just that I changed my mind a little and it made me feel better.”
So, that’s why, I didn’t want to talk about him as much as Chris.
I don’t know if he was convinced or not, but Chris didn’t ask more. said instead.
“You look great. recently.”
“······okay. thanks.”
“It might look better if you put on some weight. Or hit a punching bag.”
“Thanks for the suggestion, but I won’t do any exercise that will damage it.”
If it was Chris-like that he couldn’t stand it and did the exercise again, it was Chris-like. Rowoon and Chris ran down the freeway talking nonsense for a long time.
Chris never once complained about the broken up good time with Becky, and Rowoon didn’t apologize for it, but he was truly grateful. The two were such friends.
9:32 p.m. Pasadena, Chris’ home.
It was late, but Chris’ parents welcomed them, and the dog, Willy, jumped out and waggled his tail.
Even though he became a dignified adult dog to the point that he couldn’t remember his puppies, Willy’s aegyo was still the same.
On the way back to the dormitory, Rowoon put earphones in his ears for a moment and smiled broadly.
Chopin’s journal came into his hands.

The atmosphere of the studio class is inconsistent.
There may be many factors that divide the atmosphere, but there was no disagreement that the runner was one of the most important factors. Depending on the type of performance, they were either drenched in joy or droopy.
Rowoon’s performance was the latter.
Performance is not lacking compared to other students. No, his playing was on the rather decent side. Even so, when they faced Rowoon, they couldn’t help but feel their chest tighten even before he put his hand on the keyboard.
It was because everyone knew that Rowoon was putting in an effort that was incomparable to others, and that he was not getting results that matched his efforts.
Rowoon was proving with his actions that he could not be saved unconditionally just by looking for them. Watching Rowoon like that, they couldn’t help but feel uneasy for those who didn’t have much different stances.
“Here comes Ron…”
“Puppy Waltz? You came out with something pretty short?”
“I think I recently listened to some doggie waltz in the practice room.”
“Ah, I think I heard that too. I’m not really sure because I wasn’t concentrating properly, but I don’t think it was that bad…”
“But hasn’t it been a while since you heard that? It seems like a month has passed.”
“well. I guess I wanted to do pretty well in this studio class.”
