Chapter 1: Chapter 0
Among the many pantheons in existence was the imposing Olympus, home of the Greek gods, that majestic and eternal place that, from above, watched over the mortal world. Shrouded in mysticism, surrounded by eternal clouds and resplendent with the light of divinity, Olympus was a symbol of absolute power, a bastion of strength and harmony. Every corner of its golden hills was adorned with sanctuaries of unparalleled beauty, sculptures that captured the splendor of the gods and temples where immortality shone. The winds caressed the golden domes, and ethereal melodies filled the air, like echoes of the same hymns that mortals sang on Earth in honor of the gods. However, that day, that place of harmony and balance was shaken to its foundations.
At the gates of Olympus, on the cloudy horizon, a huge shadow loomed, blocking out the sunlight, plunging the sky into a sinister gloom. Clouds swirled around it as if fearing its presence, moving out of its way as a colossal presence advanced toward the sacred mountain. The creature was more than just a monster: it was an unstoppable force, a cataclysm in itself, known to mortals as Godzilla. The gods, who were safe from earthly threats from their golden thrones, never imagined that something so vast and ferocious could reach their sacred abode. The very ground of the mountain trembled under the weight of that beast, and the echo of its roar reverberated like thunder throughout Olympus, filling those who heard it with fear.
Godzilla, a colossus of dark scales and sharp claws, advanced with the determination of a destructive gale. His eyes shone with elemental fury, reflecting an unwavering desire to consume and destroy everything that stood in his way. It was as if nature itself, in its most primitive and violent version, had come to life in this creature. And in its immense mouth, which opened like an abyss of death, a terrifying power was brewing: an atomic ray, a torrent of pure energy that rumbled in its entrails, ready to be released.
With a burst of light and heat, the ray was released, bathing Olympus in flames. The fiery energy spread like a wave of destruction that devoured everything in its path. The marble columns, those that supported the temples of the gods and that had endured centuries of history, gave way to the power of this attack. The sculptures, immaculate works of art that represented the deeds of the gods and the glory of their achievements, shattered under the onslaught of the creature. Statues of heroes, reliefs of epics, and emblems of glory crumbled to dust at the creature's impact. The very stone of the mount, the sacred rock upon which Olympus was built, creaked and cracked, rumbling as if the soul of the sacred mount protested such a desecration.
Within the halls of Olympus, the lesser gods, divine spirits, and creatures who had never known war or terror, were plunged into chaos and despair. Fauns, nymphs, wind spirits, and other beings of light and harmony tried to flee in all directions, seeking refuge among the temples and gardens, but Godzilla's relentless bombardment was too fast, too powerful. Some tried to escape toward the cliffs, seeking refuge among the caves, while others crowded into the main palace, hoping their cries would be heard by the elder gods. However, the monster's fury reached them before they could find safe sanctuary. Each blow of the creature shook the very structure of Olympus, and the golden gates, which had once radiated a divine light, became smoking vestiges of what they had been.
The rumble could be heard in every corner of Olympus. That creature was relentless, and its attack seemed to have no end. The mountain, that eternal and heavenly place that had always been beyond the reach of suffering and death, seemed destined to burn under Godzilla's scorching breath.
In the distance, on a hill at the foot of Olympus, a figure watched the destruction with cold satisfaction. It was a woman with pronounced curves and light brown hair that fell in soft waves over her shoulders. Her majestic and ethereal bearing radiated an aura of undeniable power. A stone crown rested upon her head, a symbol of her status and divinity, while she held in her hand a dagger carved from stone, charged with ancient magic. Her name was Apate, the goddess of deceit and betrayal.
Apate smiled as she looked upon the chaos she had orchestrated. For centuries, she had planned this revenge, ever since she was freed from Pandora's Box. Her hatred of Zeus ran deep, born of the injustice he had inflicted by imprisoning her mother, the dark and powerful Nyx, in Tartarus. No one knew how Zeus had managed to imprison one of the most feared deities, and that very ignorance had fueled Apate's hatred, pushing her to scheme and manipulate until Olympus fell.
This time, her vengeance would not be stopped. Olympus must pay for its betrayal of her mother, and Godzilla, that beast she had guided from the depths of the ocean, was the perfect tool. Every explosion, every building that fell in flames, was a small victory for her, one step closer to her goal.
"Is this how you plan to bring justice?" a firm, powerful voice suddenly said.
Apate slowly turned, and before her appeared Athena, the goddess of wisdom and strategy. Her figure radiated light and her armor shone, like a beacon in the darkness. Her eyes, intense and serene, examined Apate with disapproval and deep sadness.
"What are you doing here, Athena?" Apate asked coldly, although inside she felt a small spark of unease. Athena was not like the other gods. She was cunning and strong, a worthy rival in this game of deception.
Athena crossed her arms, not taking her eyes off the destruction that Godzilla was causing in the distance.
"I knew that behind all this disaster there was a manipulative hand," Athena said. "But I didn't expect it to be you, Apate. Have you fallen so low?"
The goddess of deception let out a dry laugh.
"Fallen? I have not fallen, Athena. I am exactly where I should be. This is what they deserve." My mother, the mighty Nyx, lies trapped in Tartarus by Zeus, and no one did anything to stop it. Not you, not the other gods. They all looked away.
Athena frowned and stepped forward.
"Zeus has made mistakes, but this destruction will affect more than just him. That creature makes no distinction between gods and mortals; his fury will not stop here. What you are doing will endanger not only Olympus, but the entire world."
Apate shrugged, unconcerned.
"So be it then. If mortals suffer, it is only collateral damage. After all, it was humanity who freed Pandora's Box and allowed me to return. Let them witness the fall of their gods, let them watch as Olympus burns. And if Godzilla destroys their world, that will only be a reckoning."
Athena pursed her lips, aware that appealing to reason or compassion would be futile. Apate was blinded by hatred, and her heart, consumed by vengeance, would know no peace as long as her mission was not accomplished.
"If you will not stop," Athena said, wielding her spear with determination, "then I will have to stop you."
Apate cocked her head, observing her opponent with curiosity and some respect.
"Try it, goddess of wisdom. Let us see if your intellect can match the power of my deception."
Both goddesses prepared for confrontation, while the gigantic figure of Godzilla continued to destroy Olympus behind them, his roars echoing like thunder, a harbinger of the divine battle that was about to begin…
