Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Experiment

While Uvogin had created Big Bang Impact, he still couldn't control it completely. So, if he uses it in this combat training, he is worried that it might kill Law.

On the contrary, if Law wanted to use God Hand on Uvogin, he would not have any worries at all.

During the combat training in the past few months, he had never used the God Hand against Uvogin and the others. However, he would set aside a fixed time every day to train his control over God Hand, and his application of the ability was no longer what it used to be.

In order to further confirm the upper limit of God Hand, Law caught a few rats to test its power when he had trained the control to a certain extent.

Using the ability, he divided each rat into three parts: head, upper body, and lower body.

Afterwards, he successfully recombined the separated parts into a whole, from which it was concluded that living things separated by God Hand would not die, bleed, nor experienced pain. Moreover, they could be fully reassembled.

During the experiment, he further separated a rat's body into dozens of pieces and found that only the brain could not be separated.

He kept this crucial information in mind.

The attempts did not end there.

After recombining the dissected parts of one rat, Law divided it again into three sections: head, upper body and lower body.

There were three rats in total, and each rat was separated into three parts. Law then combined the different parts of the three rats together to create three deformed rats.

Because the head was different and the body parts were bonded differently, when Law put the rat down, these creatures faced conflicting instructions on their limbs. The two feet at the upper body wanted to go to the left, but the two feet of the lower body wanted to go to the right, causing the deformed rat to spin in place.

The experiments revealed a fundamental aspect of God Hand: separation and reassembly couldn't directly harm a living being and can only produce a restrictive effect at most.

From this, Law realized the shortcoming of the Hand of God, which was that it was not lethal at all.

During combat, he must get close to the target in order to use God Hand on the target. Even if he removed an opponent's heart or severed their limbs, the target wouldn't die or feel pain.

In other words, without the factor of pain, if Law did not quickly distance himself after landing a strike, he would have to endure the target's counterattack.

It must be known that in close combat, victory was often decided in an instant. So God Hand's lack of lethality was a serious flaw.

When he realized this, Law subconsciously thought of the long sword, Shin, in the Elder's basement. Perhaps, that would be the condition that could make up for his Nen Ability's disadvantage, or there would be other ways to avoid this disadvantage, such as long-range attacks.

With these thoughts in mind, Law continued experimenting.

As he looked at the three deformed rats, he conjured the book of God Hand and flipped it open.

The second, third and fourth pages of the book all have the word 'rat' written in English, and their respective genders is also indicated.

After awakening the God Hand, Law has used God Hand for training many times, and has also cut off Hisoka's Bungee Gum. However, only Cook's name remained on the first page of the book.

Law thought about the difference and finally temporarily defined the scope as: living things.

The thinking ends and the experiment continues.

Resuming his experiments, Law held the book in one hand and used his Nen Ability to separate the three deformed rats again with the other. He then left the rats' heads and pressed the rest of their bodies into the book's corresponding pages.

During this process, he discovered that the torso of rat A could not be pressed into rat B's page. Similarly, the torso of rat C could not be pressed into the rat A and rat B's pages.

Finally, after organizing the parts, Law pressed the torso of each rat into their corresponding page in the book, then he dismissed the book, put away the three rats' heads, and went to rest.

The next day at noon, he checked the rat's head and found everything was normal and there's no abnormalities.

Then, he conjured the book again, opened the page of rat A, pulled out the torso image on it, and the torso returned to its original form without issue. He repeated the process with rat B and rat C, achieving the same results.

Keeping the conclusion of the experiment in mind, Law pressed the torsos of the three rats back into the pages of the book, then stored their heads safely and went to do other things.

On the second day, the rats' heads remained active and in good condition.

On the third day, the rats' heads began to exhibit restlessness.

On the fourth day, the rats' eyes turned vacant and dull.

On the fifth day, the rats became lethargic and listless.

On the sixth day, the rats were on the verge of death.

On the seventh day, the rats died.

For seven whole days, the rats' head survived without trouble outside, but it starved to death because it could not eat.

It can be seen from this that even if the entire torso except the head is pressed into the pages of Law's conjured book, it will not directly affect the survival of the head. However, the inability to eat ultimately led to starvation and death.

With the three rats dead, the experiment was complete.

When Law conjured the book again, he found that the second, third, and fourth pages had all turned pitch black, just like Cook's page. These pages were now unusable.

In other words, Law only has 96 usable pages left in the hundred-page book. He realized that if no method existed to increase the number of pages, exhausting all pages could potentially seal his Nen Ability entirely.

But after realizing this, Law did not feel worried, nor did he regret that the three rats had used up three pages of the book. After all, he gained a lot of valuable information.

Law knew the Nen Abilities of many Nen Users, especially those that were highly specialized and powerful, came with inherent limitations. However, these limitations typically didn't render the ability unusable, but rather imposed conditions for their application.

Since God Hand was born from Law's subconscious needs, it stood to reason that its mechanisms would evolve as his conscious requirements grew.

For example, there will be a way to increase the number of pages of the book.

With that thought, Law didn't mind wasting a page of the book on Uvogin.

After all, some insights cannot be obtained simply by conducting experiments on rats, as the abilities are more likely to be used in combat. For example, the disadvantages considered in the experiment may be reflected in this battle.

Law will find the flaw and overcome it.

After Uvogin revealed information about his Nen Ability, Big Bang Impact, Nobunaga and Machi, who were watching the battle, could no longer remain calm. They looked at Uvogin and Law, who began to release a huge amount of Aura, with solemn and worried expressions.

"You two, this is just a combat training. There's no need to overdo things!"

As the amount of Aura wrapped around Uvogin and Law's bodies reached the upper limit, Nobunaga couldn't help but remind them again.

However, Law and Uvogin, who had entered combat mode, seemed not to have heard Nobunaga's words, and only saw each other in their eyes.

It was a combat training without a referee, so there was no countdown to start.

Uvogin opened his eyes wide, raised his head and roared, and a large amount of Aura poured out of his body like an unstoppable flood, shattering the ground around him.

At this moment, Uvogin charged first.
