Harry Potter: Demon Monarch

Chapter 57: Chapter -57 Continue fighting, don't mind us.

Chapter -57.

While Lester was downstairs having a heated exchange with Bernard, things were getting pretty tense on the eighth underground level. Up at the top of the Ministry of Magic, the entrance hall was also buzzing with chaos.

After Moody had successfully sent a rowdy group of wizards packing, he let out a sigh of relief, only to turn around and find a scruffy bunch of Aurors behind him. Without missing a beat, Moody led the Aurors over to the western side of the entrance hall, ready to flank the wizards who had just been in the southern area.

The arrival of the Aurors brought a wave of relief to the previously anxious wizards. Many pure-blood officials, eager to take charge, approached Moody, hoping to lead the Auror team.

But Moody wasn't interested in their power plays; he was focused on the safe passage ahead, gripping his wand tightly. The other Aurors, who had just made a hasty escape, were also on high alert, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.

As everyone took in this strange scene, both the power-hungry pure-blood officials and the ordinary wizards trying to save face realized something was off. Just moments ago, Moody had come up, which could have been explained as the Ministry taking care of the prisoners, but now, with so many Aurors rushing in like scared puppies, it was clear they had just come from a tough situation!

A wave of dread washed over many of the wizards who understood what was happening. The pure-blood officials quickly lost their appetite for power struggles, and following the Aurors' gaze, the other wizards turned their attention to the safe passage, their hearts racing with anxiety.

The Aurors' behavior suggested that a serious threat was on the way, and it didn't look like they were ready to handle it.

If they were capable, they wouldn't be running away, right?

Sure enough, as if on cue, a loud explosion of curses erupted from the safe passage, filled with all sorts of colorful language.

A group of wild, wand-wielding prisoners burst into the hall, hurling lethal curses as they went. Their bodies trembled, but their fierce, bloodthirsty gazes were locked onto the Aurors.

"Ah!!"

Many of the more timid wizards gasped in shock at the sight of the prisoners. They might have felt brave enough to curse the Aurors, knowing they wouldn't harm the innocent, but facing the murderous Azkaban prisoners? No way! They were terrified that even a whisper could provoke a deadly curse.

Luckily, the prisoners didn't immediately attack the innocent crowd or the Aurors; instead, they quickly set up a defensive position at the doorway. Some kept their wands raised, warning the Aurors not to interfere, while others turned to unleash chaos into the safe passage behind them.

"Avada Kedavra!!!"

Dozens of prisoners filled the safe passage, throwing lethal curses without a second thought.

This wild scene sent the ordinary wizards in the hall into a panic.

While the wizards were understandably frightened, the pure-blood officials still running through the safe passage were utterly bewildered.

Hundreds of lethal curses flew through the air, striking the pure-blood officials and claiming several lives in an instant.

The Dementors, who should have been the second closest to the safe passage, were floating too slowly and blocking the way for others. But since they were incorporeal, the prisoners bravely pushed through the Dementors, who had previously been on their side, and rushed ahead.

Fortunately, perhaps because Lester was so powerful, the Dementors recognized the prisoners in gray robes as his subordinates. They only expressed their annoyance at being pushed aside but didn't retaliate.

However, while the prisoners could pass through the Dementors without harm, the pure-blood officials couldn't. They found themselves unexpectedly blocked.

"Avada Kedavra!!!"

With a chance to strike at the pure-blood officials, the prisoners didn't hold back. They raised their wands and unleashed the killing curse without a second thought.

As the Dementors slowly floated up, the other prisoners stopped and turned to confront the Aurors in the east.

.....

Just when it seemed like the wizards in the hall were about to lose it, the showdown between Lester and Bernard was also reaching its climax.

Lester raised a massive purple fireball, towering like a three-story building, and looked down at Bernard, who was still lying unconscious on the ground, his eyes filled with determination.

"It's time to end this!"

With that, the huge fireball came crashing down, targeting Bernard.

Boom!!!

Moments later, a massive pit opened up beneath Lester's feet, causing half of the Ministry of Magic to collapse under the force of the attack.

Bricks flew everywhere, and dust filled the air like a scene from a disaster movie.

If it weren't for the powerful protective magic on the Ministry's walls, the entire underground level might have crumbled.

The members of the Wizengamot and high-ranking officials on the eighth underground floor felt the ground shake, and then the ceiling above them vanished.

Wizengamot member: "."

Dazed, they looked up to see Lester standing at the edge of the hole, peering down at them.

Seeing Lester's intense gaze, they instinctively swallowed hard.

Suddenly, one high-ranking official blurted out, "You all keep fighting, don't mind us."

Lester: "."

With that comment, the atmosphere in the room turned awkward in an instant.
