Chapter 3: My New Life
{Sister Agnes POV}
Many years have passed since I found Cassius on our doorsteps, and I'm glad I can say that I've had the privilege of watching him grow up within the walls of our orphanage. From the moment he arrived, he captured the hearts of everyone around him with his gentle nature and kind spirit.
Now, at the age of eight, Cassius has blossomed into a remarkable young boy. His pale blue eyes sparkle with curiosity and warmth, and his blonde hair shines like spun gold in the sunlight. Despite the hardships he has faced in his short life, he carries himself with a quiet strength and resilience that belies his years.
What sets Cassius apart is not just his physical appearance, but also his generous heart and willingness to help others. He is always the first to lend a hand, whether it's helping to set the table for meals, comforting a younger child who is feeling homesick, or simply offering a kind word and a smile to brighten someone's day. His acts of kindness do not go unnoticed, and he has become a beloved fixture in our little community. The other children look up to him as a role model, and even the adults admire his maturity and compassion.
As I watch Cassius go about his day, I can't help but feel a sense of pride and gratitude for the remarkable young boy he has become. Although he seemed to have a habit of speaking to the stray cats and dogs, we all just attribute that to his seemingly never-ending kindness.

{Cassius POV}
As I sat at the small wooden desk, pencil in hand, helping my friend with his homework, my mind buzzed with excitement. I've been waiting so long to try out the ability my third wish granted me, but no matter what I tried, I couldn't do it. But today was different. During my morning meditation, I felt something.
-Flashback-
The morning sun cast a warm glow through the window, illuminating the small room where I sat cross-legged on the floor. With my eyes closed and my hands resting gently on my knees, I took a deep breath and cleared my mind.
As I focused on my breath, I felt a strange sensation wash over me—a tingling warmth that seemed to emanate from deep within me. At first, I brushed it off as a trick of the light or perhaps a figment of my imagination. But as I continued to meditate, the sensation grew stronger and more pronounced, until it felt as if I were being enveloped in a cocoon of energy.
Curiosity piqued, I opened my eyes and glanced around the room, searching for the source of the strange sensation. But there was nothing out of the ordinary—just the familiar sight of the sun streaming through the window and the soft rustle of leaves outside.
Closing my eyes once more, I focused my attention inward, allowing myself to sink deeper into the sensation. With each breath, the energy seemed to swell and expand, filling me with a sense of power and purpose that I had never experienced before.
In that moment, I knew I had tapped into something extraordinary. With a sense of exhilaration, I surrendered to the pulsing energy that flowed through me, eager to explore the depths of my newfound abilities.
As I emerged from my meditation, a grin spread across my face, excitement bubbling within me. I couldn't wait to put my newfound powers to the test and see what wonders I could accomplish with the magic that now coursed through my veins.
But first, there were chores to be done.
-Flashback End-
The first wish, to understand all languages, had already proven to be incredibly useful. I found myself effortlessly comprehending the words of the animals around the orphanage, as well as the endless chatter of the birds flying outside the window. It was as if a whole new world had opened up to me, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities for connection.
With a satisfied smile, I watched as my friend's face lit up with understanding as he finally grasped the concept we had been working on. He thanked me profusely before rushing off to join the other children outside, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and focused on the magic coursing through my veins. It pulsed and thrummed with energy, eager to be unleashed. I felt a sense of exhilaration wash over me. With a spring in my step, I pushed back my chair and made my way outside, ready to try out my newfound ability.
Excitement coursed through me as I stepped out of my room, my heart pounding with anticipation. Today was the day I would finally put my newfound ability to the test—I would speak to the flora around me.
As I made my way outside, the air hummed with the energy of possibility. The vibrant colors of the flowers seemed to dance in greeting as I approached, and I couldn't help but smile in wonder at the beauty that surrounded me. With a deep breath, I focused my mind and reached out to the nearest plant, a delicate rosebush blooming near the edge of the garden. Closing my eyes, I concentrated, willing my thoughts to connect with the consciousness of the plant.
But as soon as I made contact, my mind was filled with an uncountable number of voices—a symphony of whispers that echoed through my head like a raging storm. It was overwhelming, disorienting, and utterly terrifying.
I screamed out in pain, clutching my head as a searing agony tore through my mind. The voices grew louder and more insistent, until it felt as if my skull would split open from the sheer force of their collective presence.
And then, with a final, deafening roar, everything went dark. As I crumpled to the ground, I failed to notice the grass around me slowly grow around me in a cradle-like shape, as if it were trying to comfort me in my time of need.
