Chapter 397: Chapter 396: Deicide
The magic stone in the magic satellite reached its maximum power, and a green column of light shot down from over a thousand kilometers in the sky. The seawater was instantly obliterated and evaporated by the green light, quickly forming a vortex.
At the bottom of the vortex was a deity.
Tyr roared in extreme anger, but the green light, like strong acid, was corroding his body. In just a few moments, the extreme force of death peeled away large chunks of his flesh.
Hair, skin, muscles, and even bones carbonized rapidly in the green light, dissolving his upper body into a skeleton.
This filled Tyr with horror.
"A mortal can injure the body of a deity?"
Even if only a tenth or a twelfth of his power remained, he still possessed a high rank, and the temporary body he had formed was filled with his divine power.
And a deity should be immortal!
He had no choice but to raise the blood-colored longsword in his hands, turning it into a square shield to protect himself below, which slightly contained the terrible damage. But even so, his body was still being pressed by the force of the Avada Kedavra beam, continuously sinking toward the seabed.
Tyr was furious and extremely frustrated, but as a god of war, his instinct for battle made him persist stubbornly.
Such a powerful attack could not continue indefinitely!
The enemy would certainly need to recover and breathe!
As expected, under extreme power, the magic coils in the satellite were burnt to a red heat, and since it was about to leave the airspace, the attack from the magic satellite had to be temporarily stopped after just ten seconds.
But in the next instant, another satellite took over the task, and another green column of light smashed down.
"Roar!"
However, at the moment when the two beams crossed, Tyr seized the opportunity to teleport thousands of meters away.
Although his position would soon be discovered again by Starlink's magic detection, it took time to recalibrate the magic satellites to adjust their attack angles.
And these few seconds were enough for a deity to make many responses.
"Mortals! You have angered me!"
The sea beneath Tyr suddenly became like a metal plate. The color of the water remained deep blue, and the water quality did not change, but the waves no longer surged, as if fixed in place by some magic.
Then Tyr suddenly leaped up, disappearing from the sea surface, appearing hundreds of meters in the air. After an explosion of air, he shot up into the sky like a cannonball.
He looked up, and in the fierce wind, his eyes saw a winged, insect-like metal object thousands of kilometers away.
"Is this the weapon of modern humans?"
Tyr could not understand how this thing worked, nor why it was placed so high in the sky.
But that did not prevent him from recognizing the magical energy inside it. The light that attacked him had been fired from this object. Destroying it meant victory!
In an instant, he teleported again, thousands of kilometers, suddenly appearing in the high sky where the magic satellite was, at over a thousand kilometers in altitude, and struck the low-orbit satellite, flying at over 30,000 kilometers per hour, with his sword.
"Boom!"
The satellite was cleaved into pieces as he wished, but the speed exceeding Mach 22 turned each fragment into a bullet comparable to those Murphy used to assassinate the Virgin Mary years ago.
In an instant, Tyr was peppered with fragments.
Yet, he did not die.
Losing his balance, he tumbled violently in space, his blood frozen before it could leave his body, his consciousness momentarily blurred, but his divine power still burned fiercely within him.
It took him a few seconds to regain consciousness, then a barrier unfolded around him. His body, nearly frozen solid, revived, and the fragments were expelled. After a while, he exhaled, still unclear about what had just happened.
But after all, he had destroyed that strange thing.
However, before he could celebrate his victory, more than ten nearby magic satellites had already adjusted their attitudes under Murphy's control.
Tyr felt a tremendous terror rising in his heart. Ignoring his injuries, he immediately teleported.
The next second, five green beams converged on his previous position.
The five satellites were positioned in different directions, above, below, left, and right. If they hit him simultaneously, they could form a cage with the pressure of the Avada Kedavra beam, trapping him inside. Even if he had his full divine power, as long as he couldn't break the blockade, he would be consumed to death.
He felt a chill down his spine, then anger rose again. This time, however, he had learned from experience. He threw his longsword, smashing it into a satellite, destroying it, then it returned to his hand.
Then he teleported again, cleaving another satellite before it could aim at him.
This time, he was much smarter. Before teleporting, he first maintained a nearly stationary state relative to the satellite, thus avoiding being peppered by fragments as before.
Tyr was fast. In the darkness, his eyes could still see the unique glow from those magic satellites. With his ability to teleport, their speed of adjusting positions was nowhere near his teleportation speed. In a short time, three more satellites were destroyed.
As he threw his longsword, preparing to destroy another satellite, suddenly a figure flashed in the void, and a sword strike sent his longsword flying.
The next instant, the figure appeared in front of him, delivering a punch to his face that sent him plummeting downward.
Tyr had not yet reacted when the figure appeared below him, delivering another punch to his back.
He twisted his body, swinging his sword, but the opponent suddenly snapped their fingers.
Immediately, Tyr was swallowed by a spatial vortex.
A great fear woke him from his dizziness. As his eyes began to clear, he glimpsed the dazzling green light from a magic satellite.
Instinctively, he teleported again, this time crossing ten thousand kilometers, appearing above an ocean.
"Boom!"
The relative velocity's immense impact made his body like a missile, breaking through the air, instantly creating a conical sonic boom. The negative pressure from his passing lifted tens of meters of white waves on the sea surface.
Tyr, stunned by the shock of breaking the sound barrier, woke up only to be swallowed by a spatial vortex again, reappearing in space.
In that moment, he understood.
A blaze suddenly burned around his body, turning the button-sized gateway key Murphy left on his back into ashes.
However, two green beams had already smashed down, squeezing him in the middle, one in front and one behind.
He desperately tried to raise his shield, but his gaze saw two white lines extending from the blue planet below, their tips seemingly flashing with fire.
As he wondered what those were, the lines had already reached him.
His extraordinary dynamic vision allowed him to see the objects' shapes even at several Mach speeds.
They seemed to be two rounded columns.
Terror peaked in his heart, but Tyr still could not comprehend what kind of weapon they were.
Spears?
But without tips, how could they harm?
The next second, the columns hit him, and then boundless light swallowed everything.
