Chapter 51: Speed Increasing Potion
After wind fruit, Ayaan took out two more things from his space ring. One was looking like ginger, but it was black, and the other was a bunch of leaves, which were in the shape of a heart. The ginger-like thing was the mud ginger, and the bunch of leaves called heart bay leaf.
Afterwards, he washed all the three herbs in the sink, which was at the room's corner. Then, he made a few pieces of the wind fruit and placed them inside the mortar. Later, with a pestle, he made a mush of the wind fruit.
Finally, he filtered the fruit juice of the wind fruit and used a beaker to store it. After that, he did the same procedure and kept the juice of all three materials in three different beakers.
After that, he used a petri dish to transfer one-fourth juice of the wind fruit. Eventually, he used a triangle to hold the petri dish on it; then, he burned a candle under the triangle.
Before using all the materials to make the potion, he had to purify each of them. Otherwise, the quality of the potion won't be better; or worse, it could end up as a failed product.
After burning the candle under the triangle, Ayaan released his soul power to control its heat. Simultaneously, he used his soul power to check the condition of the material inside the petri dish.
The soul power was the most crucial thing in potion-making; without strong soul power, it would be impossible to become a potion maker.
Because by using soul power, the potion maker would control the heat of the candle; at the same time, the potion maker would use his soul power to merge two different kinds of materials.
If it were the only matter of controlling fire, then every fire element mage would become a potion maker because no one could control fire better than a fire mages.
However, the mage with a strong soul power was as rare as the dragon's scales and the phoenix's wings. It was the only reason why everyone would treasure a potion maker.
Moreover, if Ayaan wanted to enter the royal palace with his potion master's status, it would be a piece of cake for him, but he never wanted to work for others and follow their orders. Although Noor's father was a king of the kingdom, Ayaan had his own pride, and he didn't put him into his eyes.
At most, the king's would be a peak-grade great mage, and reaching that level was just a matter of time. Ayaan just needed a month, and he was confident about getting the peak of the great mage.
Anyways, Ayaan didn't think about those matters at this time; his whole focus was in refining the wind fruit.
Slowly, all liquid inside the petri dish became more apparent, and a mild pungent smell started to spread; Ayaan smelled and stopped refining the wind fruit juice and put the petri dish at the side.
Afterwards, Ayaan followed the same procedure and refined the other two materials. It took him more than half an hour to refine all the ingredients.
Finally, Ayaan used a flask, placed the mud ginger juice inside it, and then put it on the heat triangle. After five minutes of heating, Ayaan probed inside the ingredient with his soul power and felt that it was ready for merging with another component.
Eventually, he started to mix the heart bay leaf inside the flask and used his soul power to control it, while the candle continued to burn.
Just as he mixed two ingredients, the potion inside the flask became unstable and became frantic. When Ayaan realised this anomaly, he immediately used his soul power to suppress the flask's potion.
Later, when the flask's ingredients became calm, Ayaan used his soul power to merge them.
The merging of the ingredients was the most challenging part of potion-making. It would require the potion maker to have full control over his soul power, or the result would be just a failed product.
Nevertheless, the two products merged bit by bit. The potion, which had the green and black colour, also started to combine, and slowly it changed into a completely different colour — Blue colour.
However, the process wasn't complete yet; therefore, Ayaan didn't lose his focus and continued to merge both the ingredients.
After working hard for fifteen minutes, he was able to merge two ingredients inside the flask.
Simultaneously, he turned his attention towards the ingredient, which was the most crucial item in this potion, wind fruit.
Without any further ado, Ayaan mixed the wind fruit in the flask while releasing his soul power continuously.
In potion-making, the timing was the most important thing. If the potion maker would delay mixing two ingredients even a few seconds, it could cause its failure. Therefore, the potion maker had to check every bit of development inside the potion and decide the right time to add other ingredients in the potion.
Afterwards, Ayaan again followed the same method to merge the two ingredients inside the flask. The colour of the potion also changed, and it became yellow from blue.
Finally, ten minutes later, a smile appeared on Ayaan's severe face. He had successfully concocted a speed increasing potion.
Nonetheless, after concocting a single potion, Ayaan didn't rest and continued to concoct more potions. It was the benefit of having a powerful soul. The potion maker would not feel tired for a long time.
However, the potion making would require one to use his soul power frequently; therefore, it would tire the potion maker's soul.
Furthermore, sleeping was the only thing that would be able to recover the mage's soul power.
Nevertheless, Ayaan had exceptional soul power, which was just about to reach the archmage level.
"Get lost!"
"Hey! How could you talk to us like this!? You are just a lowly shopkeeper, and you still dare to shout at me!"
Just when Ayaan completed his potions, a noise came from the ground floor. Ayaan immediately was able to tell that the first voice belonged to Rebecca.
