Heroine Hunter

Chapter 23

It was true—surprisingly so.

In the Empire, there actually existed a legally published ‘New Sex Toy Review Compilation.’

In numerous sex toy shops throughout the Empire, reviews were conducted by a male-female duo, usually a boss and an employee or vice versa.

For example, when reviewing a dildo, the female employee would use it and write her feedback, while the boss either observed or helped with the product, recording the employee’s reactions in detail.

The reviews were so explicit that they read more like erotic stories, and the compilation was a bestseller in the Empire.

Just like Michelin guides, some enthusiasts would travel great distances just to buy the products based on these reviews.

I closed the shop earlier than usual.

‘Heheheh, closing this early ought to reduce foot traffic and sales.’

I thought to myself, somewhat pleased with the idea.

I walked into the lounge, where Eve stood hesitantly with the vibrator in her hand.

‘Oh no, what do I do? I’ve never done anything like this before, you perverted boss…’

I washed my hands at the sink like a doctor preparing for surgery.

Eve finally spoke up, breaking the silence.

“Um, boss?”

“Yeah?”

“I was thinking… Maybe I could do the review without taking off my uniform?”

I nodded while drying my hands.

“Sure. Whatever you’re comfortable with.”

[Good, I got through that. But what about next time? What if he asks me to review something like a dildo? Ugh, I’ll deal with that later. Let’s just get through today.]

I gestured toward the sofa with my chin.

“Shall we do it here?”

“Yes.”

Eve leaned back against the sofa, spreading her legs in an M-shape. Her body was embraced tightly by the blue high-leg suit she wore.

Between her legs, the parted fabric offered the slightest, teasing glimpse of what was underneath.

[No need to be embarrassed, Eve. This is better than getting caught and executed. Be professional. You’ve read the instructions. Just act natural, like you’ve done this a hundred times before!]

I sat down next to her.

“Ready?”

“Yes. I’ll start now.”

Eve turned on the vibrator.

Bzzzzzzz.

She pressed the vibrating part against her clit, keeping a composed expression.

[Hmm. Not bad. This isn’t too difficult. I can just say it feels okay and that’s it, right? No, wait. If I mention that it lacks some sensitivity or point out a flaw, it’ll sound more professional.]

“Hmmm.”

I watched intently between her legs.

[Eye of Lust.]

“Ahh!”

Eve’s body twitched slightly.

[What? What was that? I swear the setting is still on low.]

I nodded.

“Starting to feel it now?”

“… Yes.”

[This perverted boss. Stop staring at me like that… Ugh.]

The crotch of her uniform was slowly getting wet.

“The vibration might be too low. Should we turn it up a bit?”

“Yes, ahh… Please.”

Eve adjusted the device, and the vibrator hummed even more intensely against her clit.

Bzzzzzzzz!

[Eye of Lust.]

[Eye of Lust.]

“Mmph!”

She bit her lip, trying to suppress a moan, but her body couldn’t hide its reaction.

Eve’s hips jerked as clear liquid began seeping from the crotch of her high-leg outfit.

‘Wow! Look at all that.’

The now-soaked uniform clung tightly to her, revealing the full outline of her intimate area beneath the fabric.

“How does it feel? Think you can write a review now?”

“Yes? …Yes.”

She nodded, still a bit shaken.

[Is it over? Good. Embarrassing, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought—]

“Alright then. Let’s try the partner review.”

“What?”

Before she could react, I took the vibrator from her hand. Wrapping an arm around her slender waist, I pulled her close and began pressing the vibrating device firmly against her clit and mound.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

“Ahh! S-Sir… Ahhhh!”

Eve appeared quite flustered, but there was nothing she could do.

“That’s right. That’s it.”

[Eye of Lust] X10

“Mmph… Aahhh!”

[Oh no, this feels too good♥]

Eve realized the situation was getting out of control. She grabbed my arm in an attempt to stop the vibrator.

But it was already too late.

“Ahh! Ahhh!”

Her hips jerked uncontrollably as she started to squirt clear fluid through her thin clothes, her body trembling in my arms.

I switched off the vibrator.

“Huff… Ahh…”

She snuggled against me, almost as if seeking comfort.

“Yeah. It seems like the new product is really effective. How do you feel, Eve?”

Panting heavily, she replied.

“Haah… The sensation… The sensitivity…”

“Hmm?”

“Not bad at all… Huff… Huff.”

Eve couldn’t get up from the sofa for quite a while and her hips occasionally twitched.

———

Ever since Princess Evangeline came to our store, I began taking evening walks daily in the square in front of the cathedral.

“Saintess, please touch my child just once.”

“Saintess, please look this way!”

“Step back! Make way for the Saintess, she mustn’t be harmed!”

Emilia was escorted by the knights from the cathedral as she entered the church.

‘Rose… You’ve become a Saintess.’

It made sense, both in the novel and for political reasons.

I didn’t know exactly what miracle they attributed to her, but it was inevitable.

I glanced around.

The reason I had been coming to the square at this time every day for the past few days was clear.

Now that Emilia had appeared, there was a good chance he would show up too.

But I had only seen the protagonist through the lens of the novel, not in person.

‘Wait… Could it be that guy?’

I noticed a man gazing intently at the Saintess from a distance.

A frail-looking, handsome man with red hair. He clutched his stomach as if he was starving.

In the novel, the protagonist had just crossed over from the Demon Realm to the human world and hadn’t been here long.

On the day he first saw the Saintess in the square, unable to bear his hunger, he approached the cathedral to ask for food, which was where he and Emilia met for the first time.

‘So far, the story seems to be following the original plot.’

Although Emilia was no longer the blind Saintess, meaning the plot could still shift from the novel’s direction.

Still, I had to take some precautions just in case.

I approached the red-haired man.

“Hey, are you alright?”

“Huh?”

“What’s your name?”

“…”

He looked cautious.

I decided to introduce myself first.

“My name is Ian Castoloni. I run a… small toy shop down the street. What’s yours?”

“… Zeke.”

“Zeke, huh? Nice name. Looks like you haven’t eaten in a while, your face says it all.”

“…”

“Here, take this money and go grab something to eat at that restaurant over there.”

I handed him enough money to last about a week.

“Huh? Why… Are you giving this to me?”

He still looked wary as he asked.

“You just seemed like you needed it. I see the calluses on your hands, it looks like you’ve handled a sword before. Fill your belly first, then head over to the Adventurers’ Guild. They might have work for you.”

Originally, Zeke was supposed to get into the Royal Sword Academy through Emilia’s recommendation, but starting at the Adventurers’ Guild wouldn’t be bad either.

Leaving him standing there with a bewildered look, I turned to walk away.

From behind me, I heard him shout repeatedly.

“Thank you! Thank you so much!”

———-

Late at night.

Emilia Rosebloom was dressed in a white nightgown as she stood in the cathedral garden, gazing at the moon absentmindedly.

‘—Rose, I love you.’

‘—I love you too, Ian.’

The words they had exchanged while watching the moon together on the beach each night.

She had nothing back then, but those moments were the happiest of her life.

‘Ian.’

During the day, she had briefly seen a hallucination of him in the square.

When she turned to look again, he was gone.

She must’ve imagined it.

“Saint?”

A young attendant approached her.

“Patricia? What is it?”

“There’s someone who desperately wishes to confess to you, Saintess. They said they’d make a donation to the church if you’d hear their confession once…”

“At this hour?”

“Should I send them away?”

‘A donation. A donation, huh…’

‘I’m Ian Castoloni. I run a small toy shop here in the capital.’

‘It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Castoloni. I’m Emilia Rosebloom.’

‘I remember the first conversation we had.’

“They’re welcome to come in. I’ll change and head over.”

“Understood, Saintess.”

Patricia said as she withdrew.

A little later, Emilia arrived at the confessional booth, where Patricia gave a respectful nod.

“Saintess, he’s waiting inside.”

“Alright. Patricia, it’s late. Go get some rest.”

“Yes, Saintess.”

Emilia stepped into the confessional. Through the small wooden slats, she could faintly see the man’s hand from the other side.

As she took her seat, the man made the sign of the Goddess.

“May you be blessed under the glory of the Goddess.”

Saintess Emilia Rosebloom spoke in a trembling voice.

“Confess… Confess your sins.”

There was silence from the other side.

From the sound of his voice and the sight of his hand, Rose already knew who he was.

However, she needed a moment to accept it, and a little more certainty.

After a brief pause, his voice came through.

“I have sinned. I promised to stay by the side of the one I love, but I left her behind.”

Her eyes were already red.

Rose fought back her tears.

“… Is there more?”

She tried to hold herself together.

“I promised her I would return to her, but it took me far too long.”

“Hng… Hnng…”

“What must I do to earn her forgiveness?”

Wiping her tears, Rose replied, “Go to her, tell her you love her… And kiss her.”

There was no reply from the man.

Moments later, there was a knock on the confessional door.

Rose slowly stood, her hands trembling as she gently opened the door.

Creeeak…

Ian walked in and immediately pulled her into a tight embrace.

“Rose, I love—”

“I know. Hurry.”

Without waiting for another word, they both fell into a passionate kiss.
