Hey, Why Are My Skills so Weird!?

Chapter 149 – Six

Somewhere in the wilderness lay an enormous manor surrounded by green fields of plantations.

This manor was hundreds of miles away from the nearest settlement, and to reach it was necessary to go through dozens of miles of forest and harsh environment. It was so well hidden that even the government was unaware of its existence.

Even if some lost soul found this place by coincidence, the hundreds of armed guards around the place were enough to make sure that information about this place did not leak out.

This place belonged to the cartel.

For the cartel, getting rid of one or two people was nothing unusual.

Thus, when the guards saw a lone man walking toward the manor, they grinned in schadenfreude.

“Did anyone was scheduled to come today?”

“No.”

“Then it looks like we are for some fun.” The guards smirked.

In less than one minute, five members of the cartel walked toward the man, surrounding him.

“Hey, are you lost?” One of them asked while showing the gun on his waist.

The man stopped walking, looking at the five men expressionlessly.

“What do you bring there?” The guard asked while pointing at the man’s suitcase.

The man did not reply. He just stared at the five men before looking around him. With just a glance, he noticed dozens of men looking in his direction expecting to watch a good show.

“I asked you what is there!” The guard’s voice became sinister as he pointed his gun at the man.

The man glanced at the gun briefly before moving his eyes to the guard.

“Before aiming with a gun, you should lower the hammer. Let me show you.”

The pupils of the guard shrank.

“Careful!” He shouted and quickly lowered the safe to shoot.

But the man was faster.

In an instant, he took out a revolver from his coat and fired it.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!

Five bullets left the muzzle, every one of them ending in the heads of one of the men.

“An attack!” Someone shouted.

An alarm sounded throughout the manor. The members of the cartel quickly grabbed their weapons and rushed toward the direction of the gunshots.

Soon, dozens of guards rushed toward the man.

But he remained expressionless, unhurriedly recharging his revolver before raising it.

Bang!

A bullet was shot, and a member of the cartel fell to the ground with a hole in his forehead.

Bang!

Another gunshot sounded, reaping the life of another man.

Bang!

The third shot killed someone aiming at him with a rifle from a roof.

Bang, bang, bang!

The continuous sound of gunshots was like a symphony of death. Each bullet shot by the man ended on the forehead of someone. Furthermore, the location of the bullet hole was always the same, with uncanny precision.

His accuracy had already left the realm of common sense. It was simply horrifying.

“Die!”

Finally, one of the members of the cartel reached him. He charged with his sword and swung it down intending to cut him down.

But the man stepped aside calmly while putting the muzzle on the swordsman's forehead and pulling the trigger.

Bang!

Another member of the cartel reached him. He stabbed out with his spear as he surrounded himself with mana.

But like before, the man simply stepped aside, avoiding the spear as though he had predicted his trajectory, and pulled the trigger again.

“Bastard!” Someone shouted from behind him while attacking with a knife.

But without turning around, he put his revolver below his armpit and aimed behind him.

Bang!

Another corpse fell to the ground.

Dozens of members of the cartel continued attacking the man, some of them even using skills, but none of them managed to land a blow. Even when it seemed that the man could not avoid an attack, his body flashed strangely, appearing several meters away as he continued pulling the trigger.

This uncanny massacre continued for twenty minutes until the last member of the cartel fell to the ground.

During the entire battle, the man had not missed a single shot.

It was common sense that firearms were not that useful against awakened. From the third tier, awakened had some capacity to avoid gunfire, and after the fifth tier, most bullets could be resisted just by coating the body with mana.

But this man had shattered this common sense like it was a lie. Some of the members of the cartel were at the sixth tier, and two of them were at the seventh tier, but all it took for him to kill them was the same, one bullet.

After the last member of the cartel was killed, the man headed toward the mansion. He walked unhurriedly while sweeping his spotless black coat and filling the barrel of his revolver with bullets again.

He ignored the woman crying on the ground he saw when he entered the mansion, but when the woman jumped toward his back with her nails extended, she found a bullet piercing her skull.

Eventually, the man arrived at a door in the basement.

“A secret tunnel?” The man asked himself. “Doesn’t matter. You can’t escape.”

Taking a step forward, his body disappeared. When he appeared again, he was in front of a group of three men.

One of them was an obese middle-aged man, and the other two were his bodyguards.

The three of them froze when they saw the man suddenly appear. Without hesitating, the two bodyguards took out their weapons, but before they could attack, two gunshots sounded, and they fell to the ground as blood bleed out from the holes in their foreheads.

“W-Who are you?” The obese man asked frightened. “Did someone send you to kill me!? I can pay you double! No, triple!”

“I don’t want money.” The man shook his head and took out something from one of the pockets in his coat.

A black pill.

A round black pill that shone with a slight glow, like a beautiful pearl.

“Where can I find the one who made this?” He asked.

The obese man was stunned. He looked at the pill cautiously, but soon, his eyes shrank, and his face turned pale with terror.

“T-That…”

“It looks like you know something.”

“N-No. P-Please, I don’t know anything!”

“You don’t want to talk? Doesn’t matter. You don’t need to.”

Taking a step forward, the man extended his hand and touched the forehead of the obese man.

Immediately, the obese man froze.

His body twitched slightly, and his gaze became blank. Then, his eyes lost their light.

When the man retired the hand, the obese man fell to the ground, death.

[Any news, Six?] A husky but ethereal voice sounded at that momet. Strangely, the source of the voice could not be found.

“Yes. He didn’t know much, but he knew the origin of the pill.”

[Where?]

The man turned around and walked away.

“The first district. We are going to Sanctuary, Armageddon.”

The voice chuckled.

[I hope we get a good harvest this time. I can’t wait to swallow another ‘piece’]

“Don’t worry. I will make sure to catch it for you.”
