Chapter 18: Chapter 18
"Really, that's so cool, Al-chan," Serafall exclaimed, turning to Alastor with an enthusiastic grin. "I knew you were talented, but this is amazing! You managed to bypass a divine design that's been in place for ages."
Her tone was casual, almost as if she were praising him for a simple trick, rather than acknowledging the gravity of what he had done. It was as though, to her, this unprecedented feat was no big deal at all.
Sona, however, was quick to interject. "Sister, this is a big deal. What Alastor did could have serious implications. The fact that he was able to extract a Sacred Gear without harming the host is something that's never been done before. And it's not just about the Sacred Gear; this could affect the entire balance of power in the supernatural world."
Rias also nodded at Sona's statement. But Serafall just smiled at them.
"It will only be a problem if Someone other than us knows about it. And Knowing Al-chan, he would only said that to you guys and I know that So-tan and Rias-chan will also keep that as secret, right." Serafall said.
Sona and Rias exchanged glances before nodding in agreement with Serafall. "Of course, Serafall-sama," Rias said. "We understand the gravity of the situation, and we'll keep this information to ourselves."
Sona crossed her arms, still looking concerned but somewhat reassured by her sister's confidence. "You're right, sister. As long as we manage this carefully, it shouldn't become an issue. But we still need to consider the potential consequences if others find out."
Serafall's smile widened, her usual cheerfulness returning. "Exactly, So-tan! As long as we keep this within our trusted circle, we can avoid any unnecessary complications. Besides, this could even work to our advantage if we play our cards right."
Then she continue, "So-tan, Rias-chan, can you wait outside for a bit, I have something to talk with Al-chan." Serafall said with his bubbly smile.
Sona and Rias exchanged a brief look before nodding and heading towards the door.
"Of course, nee-sama," Sona said, her tone respectful but tinged with curiosity.
"Of course, Serafall-sama," Rias echoed, giving Alastor a quick glance before following Sona out of the room.
Once the door closed behind them, Serafall's cheerful demeanor shifted slightly, her expression becoming more serious as she turned to face Alastor. The playful sparkle in her eyes dimmed, replaced by a look of genuine concern.
"Al-chan," she began softly, "I know you're always full of surprises, but this... what you've done with the Sacred Gear—it's beyond anything I expected. If a word get out, literally all the fraction will try to exploit you. And some even try to kill you so that our on faction don't become a super power."
Alastor met her gaze, noting the sadness in her eyes. It was a rare expression, one she only wore when his pranks went too far, and she couldn't help him.
But this was no prank. The consequences were real and far-reaching. If word of his ability spread, he knew the supernatural world would be thrown into chaos. Every faction would either try to control him or destroy him, and if that happen Serafall wouldn't sit still and blow up everything that tried to harm Alastor.
But it wouldn't just be Serafall. Sona, Kuroka, Grayfia, and even Sirzechs wouldn't stand by and watch either. They would all take up arms to protect him. And if they got involved, it could easily escalate into another devastating war, something the world might not survive.
Alastor wasn't worried about the prospect of war itself or death troll or even his own death, he will fight till the end but he didn't fear his deathdeath, which is one of merit of inheriting Sukuna's power, Alastor fear nothing.
He would go face to face with "the great red"—who can eradicate him in second—and will give a punch across "great red" face, if the situation said so.
What truly concerned him was the thought of his loved ones being caught in the crossfire. He had a short list of people he genuinely cared about, and the idea of them getting hurt because of him was unbearable.
"Don't worry about that, Onee-chan. I make sure there will be no information leak." Alastor said.
Hearing his words, Serafall's expression brightened instantly, her usual bubbly personality returning in full force. "That's my Al-chan! Always so reliable," she beamed, practically glowing with pride.
Then, with a sudden shift in tone, she asked, "So, how's school, Al-chan? Are you loving it?"
"It's boring," Alastor said.
Serafall giggled at his response, though she wasn't entirely surprised. "Oh, Al-chan, I should have known you'd find it boring. But still, you promised Sirzechs, so you have to stick it out!"
Alastor sighed, leaning back against the sofa. "Yeah, yeah, I know. But seriously, sitting through those classes is torture. If it weren't for that promise, I'd have leveled the place by now and moved on."
Serafall grinned, playfully nudging him. "Well, I'm glad you haven't! Who knows, maybe something interesting will happen soon to keep you entertained."
Then, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she added, "But anyway, how do you like my present?"
Alastor raised an eyebrow. "Present? What present?"
Serafall's grin widened as she puffed out her chest proudly. "The one where I arranged for you to live with Rias! Isn't it great? I'm such a good sister, right?"
Alastor blinked, then sighed. "So that was your doing...I should have known."
Serafall beamed, clearly pleased with herself. "Of course! I thought it would be the perfect way to keep you from getting too bored. Plus, Rias is sweet, and I knew you two would get along. It's a win-win!"
Alastor shook his head, though a small smile played on his lips. "You always have your ways, don't you? But I'll admit, it hasn't been too bad. Rias is... interesting, to say the least."
Serafall's eyes sparkled. "See? I knew you'd appreciate it! And besides, it keeps you out of trouble. Well, mostly," she added with a wink.
