Chapter 34: Chapter 34

The boy's mother stood frozen, eyes wide with shock as she processed what had just happened. It wasn't every day you saw a stranger heal your child's wounds with a touch.

"Here, your wounds are healed. The pain should be gone now," Asia said, her voice gentle as she patted the boy's head.

Alastor watched with interest as the boy looked up at Asia, a smile breaking through his tears.

The boy's mother finally snapped out of her daze and pulled her son closer, clearly wanting to leave the park as quickly as possible. "Thank you, Onee-chan!" the boy called out, his voice full of gratitude as his mother hurried him away.

Asia turned to Alastor, a proud yet shy smile on her face. "He said, 'Thank you, Onee-chan,' didn't he?" she asked, her eyes shining with happiness.

Alastor couldn't help but smile back, though his expression held a hint of amusement. "Yeah, he did," he confirmed, realizing that she had spoken in Italian.

—Thanks to his powers as a devil, he could understand her perfectly, a useful perk that came with his unique nature—

"That power, " Alastor said as it his first seeing something like this.

Asia seemed to catch onto his tone, her smile faltering slightly as a shadow passed over her face. "Yes, it's the power to heal," she said softly, almost as if she were confessing something. "It's a wonderful power that God gave me."

Yet, despite her words, there was a trace of sadness in her expression, a glimpse of some hidden sorrow. Alastor knew better than to pry—he already knew all about the tragic past that haunted her.

But this was their first meeting, and he wasn't about to start delving into those painful memories. He had to play his role, for now at least.

Instead, he just nodded, letting the conversation end there. They continued walking, the silence between them filled only by the distant sounds of the town.

After a few minutes, they reached an old church—the same church that Alastor knew was a stronghold for the fallen angels.

The building, though aged, still held a certain imposing presence, and as they approached,

Alastor felt a wave of discomfort wash over him. The pressure wasn't overwhelming, but it was enough to remind him of his nature. The holy energy radiating from the church made it clear that he wasn't welcome here.

"Yes, this is the place! I'm so glad," Asia said, comparing the church with the map she held. A relieved sigh escaped her as she looked back at Alastor.

Alastor knew he couldn't linger here. Despite the spell he'd cast to conceal his aura, there was always the risk that the fallen angels might sense him if he stayed too long. He had to get out of here before things got complicated.

"Then I'll be on my way," he said, turning to leave.

"Please wait!" Asia called after him, her voice tinged with urgency.

He paused, glancing back over his shoulder. "What is it?"

"I would like to make you some tea as a token of gratitude for taking me here," she said, her eyes pleading as if she was desperate to show her appreciation.

Alastor thought for a second, knowing that staying any longer was a risk. "Oh, I'm in a rush, so maybe next time," he replied, trying to keep his tone light.

"But... that's..." Asia looked troubled, clearly disappointed. She had a kind heart, and it was obvious she wanted to do something nice in return for his help. But Alastor knew better than to accept.

"It's a shame, but I really can't stay," he thought, offering her an apologetic smile.

Just as he was about to leave, Asia spoke again. "My name is Asia Argento. So you can call me Asia. What's your name?"

Alastor blinked, realizing he hadn't even introduced himself. He turned fully to face her, giving her a warm smile. "Alastor. My name is Alastor," he said, with a strange strange smile, which made Asia captive for a moment.

"So, Asia has arrived," Raynare said, her voice low and sharp, as if testing the words on her tongue.

Kalawarner nodded. "Yes, she's entered the town. Some human escorted her to the church earlier. Everything is going according to plan."

Raynare's lips curled into a sinister smile. "Good. And the ritual preparations? Are they in place?"

Kalawarner didn't flinch under Raynare's gaze, her voice steady as she replied, "We've gathered all the necessary items. The ritual can begin whenever you give the word."

Raynare's eyes flickered with satisfaction. "Excellent. With Asia's Sacred Gear in our hands, we'll have the power we need to shift the balance in our favor."

Mittelt, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up, "There is a problem, Dohnaseek, who went outside a two days ago still haven't came."

Raynare's expression faltered for a brief moment as Mittelt's words sank in. "Dohnaseek hasn't returned?" she repeated, her voice now tinged with frustration.

Mittelt nodded. "Yes, he went out on a mission two days ago, but we haven't heard from him since."

Raynare's eyes narrowed, and her fists clenched slightly at her sides. "This is unacceptable. What could have delayed him?" She paced slightly, clearly agitated. "Did he report any complications before he went dark?"

Kalawarner shook her head. "No, his mission was routine. He was supposed to monitor the devils in the area, nothing more."

"For now, let's focus on Asia, we will send someone after we took Asia sacred gear." Raynare said.

"Alright."
