Hollywood:Starting out as an MV director

Chapter 91: Chapter 91: The Bellboy and the Lady

The hotel booked by Ethan was near Chicago's Navy Pier, with a large floor-to-ceiling window offering a view of the domed building and its twin towers.

The filming schedule for Chicago wasn't long, since it didn't involve many complex, large-scale scenes; it mostly focused on dance performances in small spaces.

Director Rob Marshall's name was still unfamiliar to the public at the time. Before Chicago, he had directed some lesser-known musicals, and just three years ago, he was still a choreographer.

However, if you mention his later work, it's bound to be famous—Memoirs of a Geisha, starring Zhang Ziyi, Michelle Yeoh, and Gong Li, came from his direction.

Ethan spent a long time trying to recall these details. In fact, he had considered writing movie scripts himself, sending them to film companies, and getting the director's chair to earn box office shares.

But a glaringly awkward issue made him abandon that idea: he didn't know much about low-budget films.

Ethan was only interested in movies that involved women, which led his film watching to stray from the mainstream. Even when he went to the cinema, his main purpose was to accompany a girl. Naturally, in that flirty atmosphere, his attention was more on her than the movie.

Except for some classic films, like the first Saw, which he watched but never the entire series.

His movie knowledge was certainly limited, and since only a few films were stored in his mind, he couldn't just hand them over to a film company.

How much money he would make would depend entirely on the goodwill of the companies. In his position—nameless and with no connections—trying to get them to yield at the negotiation table was a pipe dream.

No matter how strong the unproven potential, it was useless, so Ethan decided not to let the film companies lead his works. Instead, he planned to expand his advertising business, build cash flow, and then, with CAA's support, create his own film crew to produce those classic movies.

Only by controlling the films himself would he have more bargaining power when negotiating with the big studios.

For now, Ethan's focus was on gaining experience and building connections. The film industry was a system, and though he had experience filming music videos, it was different from filmmaking.

Just as Ethan was thinking about this, his phone suddenly beeped. He picked it up and saw it was Scarlett.

"My knight, look at how beautiful this night view is!" Scarlett sent a photo of herself in a seductive red lace nightgown, lying sideways and showing off her curves. Ethan couldn't help raising his eyebrows.

As for the night view she mentioned, Ethan walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window and checked with his phone. It was indeed the Navy Pier.

What a coincidence. Scarlett was in Chicago, and just nearby.

Ethan felt a fire rising in his lower abdomen.

"So, are you planning to sleep, Miss Saint?" Ethan messaged back.

A moment later, another beep sounded.

"No, quite the opposite, my knight. I'm going to a party and won't be back until 1 a.m... Want to press me down on the bed and punish me, my knight? Your time's running out!"

Scarlett's usual teasing. Ethan smirked as he replied: "Can you send me more night views, so my knight can recognize them?"

"Sorry, no! Haha, my knight, if you can't figure it out, it's too bad. I'm wearing very sexy lingerie tonight."

Scarlett sent another photo, this time showing a close-up of her waist with lace underwear and black strings, tempting Ethan to explore more. Behind her, though blurry, he could make out a cup with a golden logo.

"Well, it's a pity, Miss Saint, looks like I won't be seeing you tonight… Next time, I guess." Ethan took off his pajamas and changed into a trench coat.

"Looks like I won this time, my knight, haha!" Scarlett's voice was smug.

Ethan smirked, slipping his phone into his pocket. "Win? Too bad, I'm the winner."

1 a.m., Chicago Four Seasons Hotel

Ethan's agent, Brian, parked the car in front of the hotel, glancing at the rearview mirror at Scarlett, dressed in a black backless dress, her short hair, and her phone in hand.

"We're here. The flight is at 7 a.m. Don't oversleep."

"Don't worry." Scarlett shrugged. "What about you? Aren't you coming back to the hotel with me?"

"No, my wife just arrived in Chicago. I'm going to meet her." Brian smiled.

"Well, I hope you have a wonderful night. Don't sleep in." Scarlett returned his words with a wink.

"Ha, don't worry," Brian said as he watched Scarlett exit the car and head inside. He then drove off.

"Hello, welcome," greeted the bellboy in a deep, attractive voice as Scarlett entered the glass door of the Four Seasons Hotel.

"Hm?" She instinctively felt something familiar, turning to see a tall, Eurasian bellboy smiling at her.

Her legs almost went weak at the sight.

"I don't think we've met before," she said, though her acting instincts kicked in, and she played along.

The bellboy nodded, a shy smile on his face. "Yes, this is my first time working here."

Scarlett swallowed, her excitement barely contained.

She took a few steps forward, looking up at the tall man, and ran her finger down his chest. "Then, can this bellboy show me to my room? I seem to have lost my way."

"Sorry," the bellboy stepped back, avoiding Scarlett's finger. "I need to attend to other guests. I can call for room service to take you up."

"No!" Scarlett exclaimed softly, "I need you to take me up. I have a mouse in my room that needs a man to get rid of it."

"A mouse?" The bellboy's expression showed surprise.

"Yes... a twenty-pound mouse, and it knows kung fu," Scarlett lied, already envisioning what might happen next.

"Oh, that's dangerous!" the bellboy said seriously. "A twenty-pound kung fu mouse could hurt you."

"Exactly, so you need to come with me." Scarlett grabbed his uniform and lightly bit her lip.

"Okay, I'll take you up," the bellboy agreed, signaling the other bellboy across the hall with his eyes. He then followed Scarlett to the elevator.

The other bellboy muttered, "Wow, these rich people really know how to have fun. Role-playing, huh?"

In the elevator, the bellboy kept a wide distance from Scarlett, his expression serious, showing no signs of improper intentions.

But Scarlett's legs were already rubbing together in anticipation, heat building in her body.

"Ding!" Finally, after what felt like forever, the elevator doors opened.

Scarlett led the bellboy to her suite and opened the door with her key card.

"Lady, please be careful. I'll go in first," the bellboy said, maintaining his professional tone.

But Scarlett couldn't wait.

Once he entered, she followed him inside and slammed the door shut behind them.

The sounds of conversation came from within the room.

"Lady, where's the mouse? You said it was here?"

"The mouse? It must have already left. Are you hungry? I have some bread."

"This bread is really soft, so big," the bellboy remarked.

"Do you want some?" Scarlett teased, giving him a playful smile.

"I can't resist, I'll have some."

"Oh, let me squeeze some cream for you," Scarlett replied.

"Ah, that's really good. You have quite the skill at squeezing cream."

"Thank you for the compliment, but this is just the beginning."

"Lady, be careful, you don't want the cream all over your clothes."

"Doesn't matter, this outfit was ruined anyway."

"What's next, then? I'll go ahead and fix your pipes."

"Go ahead, I'm ready."

The night passed in a flurry of activities, and when the morning light finally broke, the bellboy, Ethan, woke up in the large bed.

Scarlett had already dressed and was doing her makeup in front of the mirror.

"What time is it?" Ethan leaned back on the pillow, smiling as he looked at her through the mirror.

Scarlett shot him a glare. "It's already 7:30. Thanks to you... I missed my flight."

In truth, it wasn't just Ethan's fault; her agent had also overslept. It seemed that the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" had some truth to it.

"That's good," Ethan said with a smirk, leaning closer, his hand sliding down her shoulder. "But your knight isn't done yet. The punishment continues."

Scarlett gasped softly, her voice trembling. "No... wait... just close the curtains first."

Ethan chuckled as he pulled her back toward the bed. "No need. The view's perfect like this."
