Chapter 125: Chapter 120: Fu Lin, ...What are you looking at?
Fu Shi, after pondering for a long time and flipping through memories of ancient knowledge, couldn't find any mention of the so-called Edge of Taixuanan 2.0 Pro Max. She turned a skeptical gaze toward Fu Lin and asked, "Why have I never heard of this version of the Edge of Taixuanan?"
"Because I just made it up..." Fu Lin replied, looking at the Doomsday Beast outside the platform.
Closing her eyes, Fu Shi lent her power to Fu Lin and said, "You... better return my power after this!"
"Of course. I'm not an old fraud—who even does scams these days?" Fu Lin retorted, looking disdainfully at the Doomsday Beast as he felt the surge of Herrscher power in his body.
---------------------------
"You can resurrect, huh? Let's see how many hits you can take."
Fu Lin concentrated all his energy, integrating Fu Shi's power as well. Then, once again, he began chanting, "The divine is the ultimate transformation, the wonder of all things in words, indescribable and ineffable."
"Edge of Taixuan 2.0 Pro Max, feel this unparalleled strike!"
Suddenly, several cracks appeared in the cosmos, and from each crack emerged a massive red sword identical to the previous Edge of Taixuan attack.
However, this time, the swords seemed to be veiled in a faint, almost imperceptible membrane, giving them an unreal appearance.
The crowd, who had already witnessed the might of the previous Edge of Taixuan, was left speechless at the magnificent scene before them. No words could capture the wonder of the spectacle.
"Only nine strikes with Fu Shi's help? I thought I'd at least achieve the 'Ten Thousand Swords' move," Fu Lin remarked in disappointment, half-kneeling on the ground, swaying unsteadily as he looked at the nine Taixuan Sword outside the space station.
"Give it a rest! Nine swords are already world-shattering. If it weren't for the abundance of energy in this world, you wouldn't even manage three strikes before being drained dry," Fu Shi retorted, pale-faced as she supported the exhausted Fu Lin.
"ROAR!!!!" The Doomsday Beast glanced at the nine gigantic swords hovering overhead, a flicker of fear flashing through its eyes before it roared furiously, gathering energy once more.
"Hahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHA! MUDA MUDA! This attack combines both physical and spiritual forces. It's inescapable... HAHAHAHAHAHA! Turn to ashes, and let's see how you revive after this! KEKEKEKEKE!!!"
Watching the Doomsday Beast struggle to resist, Fu Lin cackled maniacally, almost as if Fu Shi's spirit had possessed him.
"Uh~ You're laughing like a total creep," Fu Shi remarked, turning away in disdain.
"Kekeke... cough cough! I just got a little carried away, okay? cough cough!" Fu Lin hastily stopped his deranged laughter upon hearing Fu Shi's comment, awkwardly glancing back at the astonished expressions of his companions.
"Um... Fu Lin, about that... uhhh..."
"It seems like... the Doomsday Beast's attack is aimed at you," March 7th pointed out, gesturing toward the beast with uncertainty.
"NANI!!!"
"..."
Fu Lin turned his head in alarm, and the scene fell into a heavy silence.
As March 7th had said, the Doomsday Beast's annihilation beam, which had been gathering energy, wasn't targeting the descending swords but was instead aimed directly at Fu Lin, intending to take him down as a last act of revenge.
Realizing the danger, Fu Lin frantically urged the Taixuan Swords to accelerate their descent to interrupt the Doomsday Beast's casting, but it was still a step too late.
Seeing the beam closing in, Fu Lin slowly closed his eyes, bracing for the pain that never came. When he cautiously reopened them, he was stunned to see Stelle shielding him from the attack.
Hearing Stelle's agonized scream, Fu Lin reached out to try to save her. But just as his hand touched her shoulder, a blinding white light flashed, forcing him to shut his eyes instinctively.
When Fu Lin reopened his eyes, Fu Shi, Himeko, and the others were nowhere to be seen, and even the Doomsday Beast had vanished.
Fu Lin surveyed the dark, unfamiliar space around him. Everything was eerily silent, except for a flowing, golden liquid fissure that seemed out of place before him.
Driven by curiosity, Fu Lin cautiously extended his hand toward the strange golden fissure, but nothing unusual occurred.
"What is this... It seems special. Why not collect some?" Fu Lin murmured, gazing at the golden liquid in his hand.
With that, he sprang into action, pulling an oversized bucket and pump from his system space and proceeding to extract the golden liquid from the fissure. Who knew how much random junk Fu Lin had crammed into his system space?
Just as Fu Lin was about to fill the entire bucket, the space began to quake violently. A pair of golden eyes appeared in his view, and the entire space lit up. Staring at the colossal, majestic figure before him, with a scar on its chest, Fu Lin finally realized what he had been extracting.
Clutching the bucket full of golden liquid, Fu Lin nervously looked at the imposing figure. The two stared silently at each other.
Perhaps because of the prolonged standoff, or simply from being stared at for too long, Fu Lin broke the silence. "W-What are you looking at?"
Nanook, "..."
