How a Hero Lives as a Writer

chapter 7

7 – How a Hero Lives as a Writer

Lord Lewis must have noticed that something was going on strangely, so he took a position where he could unleash his sword at any time.

I took a sidelong glance at him and then looked back at the man named Alexander.

Prince Albert said it was fine, but the librarian in the royal castle was a spy.

“Are you the king’s librarian?”

“… How?”

“Because the shape of the mouth is different.”

Perhaps it was the Hero Summoning privilege, I was able to speak the language of this world.

But that was close to translation magic, so it was different from fully understanding the language of this world.

For example, if I say ‘romance novel’ to Prince Albert, he will understand.

Someone might want to ask what’s wrong with that.

But if you know where the noun ‘romance’ comes from, you may feel a sense of incongruity.

Romance is a noun derived from “Rome”.

Since the main character of the book written in Latin (Roman alphabet) was set in the Middle Ages, stories about knights were the mainstream.

When you think of a knight, what comes to mind is chivalry and love with a noble woman.

Based on that story, the words romance and romantic were coined.

In other words, in this world without the existence of Rome, the noun ‘romance’ cannot exist.

That’s why Prince Albert described my novel as a ‘love novel’.

But I described my novel to Prince Albert as a ‘romance novel’.

I can understand Prince Albert’s story, but I must not understand Prince Albert.

However, Prince Albert took the word “Romance novel” I spit out as the concept of “Love novel.”

Perhaps the magic worked that way.

Then here comes the problem.

The shape of the mouth changes when vocalizing, but the shape of the mouth is completely different between ‘love novels’ and ‘romance novels’.

This is a part that even the dullest of people can’t help but notice.

But this person showed no reaction.

Maybe it’s because I’m not interested in my mouth.

With that in mind, we chatted and looked at the reaction.

I spit out the word “Americano” Just in case, but there was no response.

In this world without America or coffee, the word “Americano” Would have been treated as a proper noun and sounded like “Americano.”

Usually, when you hear such a word, you should respond with ‘What is Americano?’, But there is no response.

So there is only one conclusion.

This person knew that I was summoned as a hero.

A secret that was passed on only to the people of the royal castle thanks to Prince Albert’s consideration, and even that the king himself ordered to keep quiet.

As expected, you heard about it from the librarian in the royal castle.

He’s from a world different from this one, so didn’t he tell me to skip it even if the conversation didn’t mesh?

“You are quite clever.”

The man who said that put his hand into his chest.

Then, in the blink of an eye, Sir Lewis drew his sword and tried to suppress the man’s movements.

However, in that brief moment, the man must have used magic, and a shield that glowed blue was spread around him.

The man, wary of Sir Louis, took out the bell from his bosom and shook it lightly.

The ring.

A cheerful sound echoed, and two wolves glowing blue appeared.

… It looks like you stumbled upon a beehive.

“I have no intention of fighting against the warrior who is the representative of God. So calm down.”

The man raised both hands as if he had no intention of fighting.

For some reason, it didn’t feel like a lie.

If you have to, Lord Lewis is there,

ㅡ Whoops.

There is also Helena-sama who is enjoying this situation.

It will work somehow.

I nodded my head to Sir Louis feeling okay.

Sir Lewis watched the wolves closely and relaxed so that he could protect me at any time.

“Hero, why are you doing this?”

The man looked at me with a crooked expression and started spitting out her words as if questioning.

“A warrior is an agent of God. He is a savior who appears in moments of crisis for mankind. But I don’t feel any power in you.”

The man’s gaze turned to my gloved hand.

I gazed into the man’s eyes and slowly removed the glove from his hand.

“… I don’t know why you were summoned to this world. But at least they weren’t called to fight against anyone.”

The man put her hand on the envelope containing the manuscript of my novel.

“If you are a hero, shouldn’t you refrain from doing anything to bring chaos to this world?”

“Confusion?”

“Yes, confusion.”

The organization this man belongs to must be the one the Pope mentioned.

“Is it the fault of your organization that only literature has not developed to such a bizarre level?”

The man didn’t say anything, but in this situation silence must be positive.

“Why did you do that?”

“To avoid repeating mistakes.”

The man muttered that with an expressionless face.

“There is a mysterious power hidden in letters. Power enough to make all of humanity die and kill each other.”

At first, it was a story about dwarves and paper.

“The elves said they didn’t like the existence of human-made books. So we went to the dwarves and discussed the method.”

Even the paper made by the dwarves was still destroyed by nature, but the resources consumed by a single book were incomparable.

When Dwarven paper was widely distributed, the need for parchment paper was bound to decrease.

That’s why the dwarves are said to have researched a technology that can produce large amounts of paper.

“This is why mankind can obtain paper at a relatively low price.”

It seems that something happened with the circulation of this paper.

“Books, which were reserved for the privileged class, have become easily accessible to the common people.”

“Common people who came across the book started writing new stories.”

“To tell a story that is so diverse and interesting that it cannot be compared to today.”

I guess so.

When I ask a person who writes a web novel why he wrote it, the answer often comes back, ‘I think I can write it at this level’.

If access to books has increased, the number of people who write novels will inevitably increase.

And among them is a superman on a white horse.

There must have been people who wrote novels that captivated readers even if they lacked learning.

“Everything started with the book ‘The source of all things is human.'”

I think I know what kind of book it is without having to listen to it….

“All mankind that exists here in Mare originated from humans. If human ears are long, it is an elf. When it gets smaller, it becomes a spring or dwarf, and when it gets bigger, it becomes a giant. If horns grow on their heads or wings grow on their backs, they are demons. If you live in the water, you become a mermaid, and if you run in the fields, you become a beast.”

I almost nodded my head involuntarily at the man’s words.

Isn’t that also true, the elves and dwarves on Earth originated from human imagination?

That base has no choice but to be human.

But this world is different.

Unlike the Earth, in a world where many races coexist, the man’s remarks are remarks that contain human supremacy.

It is a dangerous statement, equivalent to declaring in front of black people, ‘You are slaves born to serve white people.’

“The basis?”

It seems that the man is quoting the words of a book that says, “The source of all things is human.”

Then there must have been something written in the book to support that claim.

This is the basis of plausible bullsh*t that would incite the public who read the article.

The man stared at me.

… No way?

“It is you, champion. All seven warriors, including you, were ‘humans’.”

[The hero, the agent of God, proves the fact.]

The words that came out of the man’s mouth stuck in my brain.

I was born into a decent environment and received a higher education.

I read a lot of books because I am a human who lives off writing.

So I didn’t think it was dull enough to be easily agitated by others.

But when I was listening to the story coming out of the man’s mouth, there was me who thought it was strangely plausible.

If this Mare is the standard, even me, an alien, is like this.

I didn’t even read it as a book, I only heard part of the contents of the book through the man’s mouth.

How did the locals feel when they read this book?

Hodongjwa said that.

The philosophy of a person who has read a book is the most frightening law.

Even if books started to be circulated at a relatively low price, it would have been difficult for commoners at the time to access a large number of books.

If such people read books tainted with incitement, fabrication, hatred, and chauvinism, ideological contamination would inevitably occur.

“Your expression speaks for itself. It happened just as you think.”

It must have started with very little friction at first.

But that little friction must have grown.

Novels imitating that novel would have been published, and they would have been sold out quickly.

Because the content that preaches that humans are superior is a kind of gukppong TV.

It is impossible not to sell a novel version of Gukppong TV.

Those who read the book must have gradually become imbued with radical ideas.

For example, novels were published in which beautiful elves were used as s*x toys and beastmen were kept as pets.

Among those who encountered such type of garbage, there must have been people who did not see novels as novels and had accidents.

“If it happened once, it would have been a coincidence, but if the same thing happens again after that, it is inevitable.”

To say that the same thing happened again means it wasn’t just once or twice.

This means that there was a war that took place 100 years ago and other conflicts.

That’s why we decided to erase the existence of the hero from history.

We started censoring publications to avoid friction.

The ruling class of each country is also involved in this censorship.

Because it should have been prevented from being passed down through word of mouth.

“The story has been put together in its own right way.”

It’s not all bad for the ruling class.

Because if the ruling class is too smart, trouble can happen.

Even if novels are a little uninteresting, there are other entertainments for the ruling class.

“Why did you write this novel? If it’s entertainment, stop it.”

“Your actions upset the balance of this world.”

“So stop it. Do you intend to throw this world into chaos again with the existence of an agent of God?”

This is the reaction even though I only wrote one novel.

ㅡ That’s how scary the ripple effect of your novel is.

Is that so?

ㅡ So finish it quickly and go and write the second volume!

….

“There is no need for a hero in this world.”

“There is neither an obligation nor a threat to do something at the risk of your life like the former champions.”

“Even if you do nothing, no one will notice. It would be foolish to show enmity toward you, God’s representative.”

So calmly enjoy the protocol as a hero and return to the original world.

The man spat that out with a cold expression.

Yes, you may be right.

But I want to do it even more when I say don’t do it.

“You mean you don’t have to quit unless it’s entertainment?”

The man’s momentum has become even more formidable.

Still, I had no intention of giving up.

If you have to, you should ask Sir Louis or Helena for help.

This is the Hogahowi, you bastard.

“The novels I write are not entertainment.”

“… Are you kidding me right now?”

Isn’t this a joke?

“I know. Because similar things used to happen in my world.”

The Travels to the East opened the Age of Exploration.

There is also a book called ‘Communist Declaration’ that is often quoted in genre novels because it sounds plausible.

Perhaps a book that denies the status system was published here, and the public who came across such a book could have sparked a revolution.

There is also a famous book called ‘Mein Kampf’ by Hitler, a war criminal that no one on earth knows.

Everyone on Earth knows that letters have tremendous power.

I knew it, but I decided to write a novel.

“You know, why are you doing this?”

“Because that is God’s will.”

“What?”

I held out the back of my right hand to the man.

And in that state, I summoned the holy sword.

“The Holy Sword… ?”

“I cannot split mountains with my sword, nor can I split the seas with my staff.”

I don’t feel that kind of power, and it’s not like I was called for that reason.

In that case, the holy sword would have taken the form of a weapon.

“All I know how to do is write a novel at best.”

The fact that I was brought to this world means that it is God’s will that I write novels.

If it had been summoned by chance, the holy sword wouldn’t have recognized me as a hero.

The stigma engraved on the back of this hand and the holy sword that recognized me as its owner prove my existence.

I am a warrior even without any power.

So-

“The hero, the representative of God, proves that fact.”

I returned exactly what the man said.

The man’s complex eyes turned to the stigmata on my right hand, and to the key-shaped holy sword in that hand.

If you deny the words of my being chosen by the Holy Sword, that means denying God.

A cheat kit called Gabulgi.

This has no choice but to get fed up.

If I were this person, I might have been mad and muttering things like ‘I’m a gamer.’

“… All Intrus wants is world peace.”

So I will watch my progress.

The man declared that.

“Let’s watch. At least it will be a more enjoyable world than before.”

A novel is not a tool to incite someone.

The essence of a novel is to give pleasure to the reader.

I have no intention of repeating such a dull and depressing story.

If you want to watch it, watch it.

The story of the writer who was summoned as a hero starting now.
