HP – Shadow Monarch!

Chapter 53 – Pandora.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

'It's still too risky, the calculation cannot be good enough...' Snape murmured as he read the book in the forbidden section, studying spatial magic and even making calculations because he wanted to learn new spells.

He was calculating a way to increase the chances when the wizards in those records had failed a long time ago. He intended to improve and create other spells.

He was at it for a while, until he finally decided to close his books, after all, he had to go to the D.A.D.A. class which would return to being the duel among all the classes.

This week was quiet, except for the fact that the Marauders looked at him as if he had slept with their mothers, no one bothered him, even the Marauders didn't try anything, since everything they did this year with Snape ended up being a frustrating attempt for them.

Snape headed to the class leaving the library, while passing through the corridors, he found something peculiar, seeing a girl with almost platinum blonde hair, standing in the middle of the place looking up.

As Snape approached on his way to class, the girl did not turn around before addressing him, "Can you help me, Mr. Snape?" she asked with a curious tone, yet still fixing her gaze upwards.

Snape looked at her for a few seconds, before following her gaze as he got close to her, there were two pairs of shoes on the ceiling. "How did that end up up there?" he asked.

Pandora smiled lightly as she turned to him, "The Wrackspurts are quite known for doing things like this. They float around invisible and love to play with objects they find. It could be them, or perhaps the Nargles. They are mischievous and like to pick up small things, especially shoes, according to my father."

Snape looked at her, an eyebrow arched. "What the hell is that?" He knew nothing about what she was talking about there.

"They are very mischievous beings. But they don't like being looked at, so they keep hiding, many of them inhabit the back of the ear, so it's always good to check if they're not hiding there..." The girl said as Snape was left speechless by what he was hearing. "I think that's why these shoes are suspended. Maybe the Nargles are building a nest."

"..." Snape simply looked at her, as if wondering whether to believe in this nonsense. "Why don't you take that off the ceiling...?" Snape asked, not believing a word she said.

"I... didn't want to bother them... they seem so happy up there..." she said with a dreamy look.

'It's clear that some student is playing a prank on this girl...' Snape murmured and turned back to the girl with incomprehensible phrases. "You are without a wand, aren't you?" he asked.

"..." She turned to him, eventually nodding. "Yes, I believe it's the Wrackspurts, they also live in people's ears and mess with the mind with whispers," she said as if that was a normal excuse.

"..." Snape sighed and pulled his wand out, with it appearing with some flashes as he took it from his inventory, while he pointed it at the shoes and they began to fall down the next moment, flying towards a barefoot Ravenclaw girl.

"Thank you!" she exclaimed before becoming thoughtful. "I hope the Nargles aren't sad about losing their nest..." she said while Snape wanted to slap his forehead.

"First of all, I want to thank you! I'm Pandora Silverwood, fifth year at Ravenclaw, we have potions and Herbology classes together," she said, smiling at him.

Snape remembered this girl from his classes, although he had never exchanged any words with her, he remembered that the girls from his house were always laughing at her eccentricities. So it was not difficult to know what had happened there, while he looked at the girl putting the shoes on her feet.

She finished and looked at Snape. "You are really a great person, Snape. And I believed because you come from another world and having this aura of death, bigger than anyone in this castle, I thought you were a bad person, maybe the Wrackspurts were wrong..." she commented calmly.

"What did you say?" Snape could not have been more surprised by those words... Hearing that he was from another world in such a random way left him speechless for the first time in this world.

"Let's put that aside, we have the dueling class... Why don't we go together?" she said and began skipping down the corridor with Snape looking at the girl still in a strange way.

"You know... I saw your fight last week... You're so strong...!" she said, looking back.

"..." Snape remained silent.

Worse for Snape, despite being surprised by this girl, she continued the entire way talking, while he had to listen to her, with her making all kinds of questions and saying even stranger things, but Snape hardly seemed to respond most of the time, wanting to know more about how she knew of his identity from outside this world, but the girl was invasive, always saying nonsensical things, leaving him without answers.

They finally arrived at the hall where once again the fifth year dueling class was taking place while all the students were already gathered there with the teachers on the platform looking at the students. Snape's entrance was noticed by everyone, from those who noticed he was with Pandora, which led to some gossip from Ravenclaw, to those who deeply hated him, like James, looking at him as if he could kill him with his eyes.

Snape did not care about that, as he went to his corner, but the girl who accompanied him followed him, and Pandora seemed to stop by his side, which drew Lucinda's eye from a distance to the girl.

"Well, let's start..." Professor Longbottom began to address the students.

The students quickly started paying attention to her, expecting her once again to demonstrate an incredible fight against Professor Flitwick.

"I will start with the demonstration again as last week," Professor Longbottom said and looked at the students until she found her target.

"Today will not be a fight against Professor Flitwick, but I will call a student. Severus Snape, could you duel with me?" she asked, while everyone looked surprised at Snape. Snape nodded, leaving Pandora aside and going to the platform, while positioning himself in front of her, Professor Flitwick nodded before leaving, leaving only the student and the teacher on the platform.

She hoped that with Snape there, it would be a more balanced fight, since he was more advanced than the other students. "Let's begin..."

She pulled out her wand to prepare while the teacher examined the student in front of her waiting for the start of the duel, while Snape, not being foolish or anything, faced his opponent here being an auror and not fighting some foolish student. He quickly summoned his wand, as he did last time, but now, before the fight, which left Longbottom with a raised eyebrow, wondering how he did that thing of pulling the wand out of nowhere.

"Everyone ready?" Professor Flitwick asked, while both, the teacher and the student, responded with a nod. "Begin!" he shouted and everyone fixed their eyes on the fight.

The teacher did not attack immediately, just keeping quiet. Snape calmly analyzed her body posture, with Longbottom seeing that he was not going to attack, so she began to pressure him. She moved her wand and began casting spells, Snape quickly defended with his shield and counter-attacked.

The magic hit a new shield created by Longbottom and she cast again, while Snape launched another spell for the two magics to clash in the air, creating an explosion of light. This began a quite balanced battle, surprising all the students as the intensity increased between the two.

"Incredible," the students murmured, watching the light show unfold. This continued for about 10 minutes, without any stopping, until the teacher canceled a spell and stopped attacking, while Snape just observed, not sensing her intention to attack again.

"Let's stop here, Mr. Snape. It was a great fight," she praised, internally approving that the boy was ready to fight against the seventh year.

"..." Snape just nodded, before stepping down from the platform and returning to his place behind the crowd. Now, she returned to the students and began calling them. "Let's start calling the students," she declared and called a random student, as he made his challenge and so it went in sequence, as in the previous class.

Snape, seeing that it would take a while, simply opened his bag, took out a book, and began to read. Pandora seemed to comment on some strange things beside him, but he didn't mind as he focused on the notes and tried to learn more about what he was reading.

The class finally ended after the last student received feedback. Snape sighed before starting to leave. He had to prepare for what he would need to do over the weekend, while preparing more potions for the coming days, needing to raise some money, which was a good opportunity to sell them as soon as he left the castle, so he focused on that in the following days.

And finally, Saturday arrived, while he did his daily training, which now no longer gave any points, but he was obliged to do; not that he cared about that, after all, physical exercises were quite important. He could easily do that there, as he himself imposed an even greater intensity to train his body every day.

With his morning training done, which attracted some glances from the students seeing him return to the castle, he went to get his things and put Atlas in the kitchen to stay the entire weekend.

He gave one last look at the house elves. "Just don't kill him, understand?" he told the elves, who nodded joyfully, since Atlas always ate their strangest foods that were not approved at the school to be given to the students.

He went to his room and prepared his bag, ready to return to London and finish his tasks. He then left his dormitory passing through all the places, Clarisse was in the Slytherin common room and looked at him as he was not wearing the Slytherin cloak and leaving with a large bag, but said nothing.

Snape followed the corridors until he reached the fireplace, with the caretaker there with his cat, "Where do you think you're going, brat?" he immediately shouted at Snape, who just sighed.

"This answers your question." Snape said as he showed a scroll, which was an order from the headmaster authorizing him to leave the school, the man had to nod reluctantly and let the boy pass.

Snape went to the fireplace and took the Floo powder, he had matters in Diagon Alley and even at his old house. Then he threw the powder over himself, before being engulfed in green flames and disappearing the next moment.
