The building where Snape had once been was now bustling with a large crowd gathering at the entrance. All were wearing skull masks and dark cloaks. Snape approached the place, dressed in the same type of attire. Being an illegal magical auction, it was common to hide one's identity.

Here, they didn't care who you were, as long as you could pay for the things you buy. Even authors and influential people with good reputations in the magical community avoided associating with suspicious activities, yet they were here in disguise. Even Aurors and some ministers from the Ministry of Magic were present; there were also those disguised to try to investigate someone involved in illegal activities. But none of this mattered to Snape as he calmly entered the crowd and remained silent as they entered, little by little, a masked inspector also disguised, checking their cards to authorize entry.

He reached the man and pulled out the card from his inventory, looking at it for a moment before nodding, seeing that Snape's card was correct. Snape entered the auction the next moment, stepping into a reception area where many groups who seemed to know each other were conversing softly among themselves.

Snape was noticed by many as he walked through the area, drawing some glances, but everyone ignored him the next moment seeing that Snape proceeded to the auditorium. However, on a floor above with a view of the reception, a person looked at Snape with a very different interest from the others while not requesting interest in him.

"My lord, we have the best area for you." An auctioneer approached carefully, while the woman in question saw Snape entering the open area.

"I will refuse, I'm going downstairs." She spoke as her red eyes glowed through the holes of her white mask, which was different from the others.

Snape entered the auditorium where the main event would be held, an open space with dozens of chairs with tables while people could serve themselves with drinks and food teleporting invisibly to whoever ordered.

Around the place, there were several open rooms on the upper floor like podiums where important guests, the most powerful and wealthiest families stayed, a symbol of ostentation and power that some liked to display.

Snape only had a simple card, not that he cared about his status, so he sat among the primary audience, sitting in a corner and waiting for the auction to start, while more and more people filled the place.

He was calm and even opened his system to check his status, however, he quickly closed it when he noticed someone staring intensely at him while seeing this same person coming towards him, she was a woman with a slim body, but full of curves in the right places and with ample breasts, he could see her carefully maintained black hair, while she wore a dress that fit perfectly on her body. Even with masks, it was still possible to see some facial features, like eyes, cheeks, jaw, and hair color, so he saw that this woman had a beauty above any other woman he had ever seen.

'This woman is not just anyone...' Snape murmured, as he stared at her again with calm eyes, she had bright red eyes, something Snape had never seen in this world.

Another unusual thing was how people there behaved towards her as they immediately bowed their heads greeting her as she walked through the place.

"My lady…"

"It's an honor to see you in person, my lady…"

"Would you like to drink something with me?"

"Why is she here... she never comes here…"

"I'm seeing her for the first time…"

People began to speak, being those who addressed this woman and others just commenting among themselves, but the woman herself didn't bother to respond to those talking to her, as she only kept her eyes on Snape.

She didn't even ask Snape as she grabbed a chair near him and sat down without even asking, Snape narrowed his eyes at the elegant woman as she stared at him intensely.

This immediately drew the eyes of everyone in that place, wondering what the young lady was doing with that man alone and who was that stranger.

"May I know why you are here?" Snape broke the silence under everyone's gaze, though only the woman heard his words.

She didn't seem offended by his questioning tone and lack of respect; instead, she smiled with her red lips and seemed even more interested in Snape.

"I don't recall ever seeing someone like you before," she began in a seductive and refined voice. "I know everyone here. Except you. Which makes me wonder... Who are you?" she said, enhancing her seductive tone and moving her face closer to Snape.

"The idea is for you not to know, isn't it?" Snape retorted, slightly curious about this woman and who she might be; she didn't even seem fully human.

"Hahaha." She laughed softly at Snape's response. "I suppose you're right, though I'm also curious about something, look around you." She spoke with a mischievous smile.

"You seem important, even those in the podiums are looking at us." Snape didn't need to turn his face to see that everyone was looking at them at that moment, even the most influential people in VIP places, all eyes were on them, the woman being their main target since he was a stranger.

"You don't want to know who I am?" She asked.

"Does it make a difference, although it's surprising someone like you who appears to be a 20-year-old woman." Snape commented.

"You spoke correctly about the appearance, after all, I am 10 times that age." She remarked with a mischievous grin.

"So as I thought... you are not human..." Snape said, seeing a woman who was 200 years old.

"I am, at least half-human; my mother lived in the 18th century. Since then, I've lived with my father, but I'm not from England in case you ask, I come here occasionally to visit." She explained.

"But still influential, after all, all these wizards are looking at you..." He spoke calmly. "But I'm not very interested in anything else with you, I don't even know why you are talking to me just because I'm a stranger." Snape spoke with a tone of disgust, after all, he didn't want to know who this woman was, just to do what he needed to do there.

"You are someone I've never seen before... that's why you are interesting, but you are dismissing me just like that... Do you know what these people would do just to exchange a few greetings with me?" She asked again in a mischievous tone.

"I don't care and if you want to threaten me or something..." Snape began as his eyes stared at her, starting to emit a blue glow. "Know that I am not someone you can play with..." He said in a threatening tone.

"..." The woman was taken aback while only she could see the glow emitted behind Snape's mask as he seemed a much more formidable threat than he appeared.

"Hahahaha!" Snape expected many things, but not for the woman to start laughing gracefully and calmly, drawing attention from all around. This made everyone wonder what was going on, what they were talking about seeing the young lady start laughing that way while talking with that stranger.

"Why is she laughing like that...?"

"Who is that? How is he talking to the young lady?"

"I've never seen her laugh like that in my 50 years since I saw her when she was just a young influential witch..."

"Could someone have enchanted the young lady?"

"Impossible, my great-great-grandfather tried to win her over, but no one ever has."

The gossip started all around and Snape even stopped emitting the glow from his eyes while looking with a furrowed brow at the woman who seemed to be enjoying herself with him.

"What do you want?" He asked in an unsatisfied tone.

"Sorry about that, I've just never met a human like you before... could you tell me your name?" She asked, attempting to seduce him with her tone.

"No." Snape responded, clearly unsatisfied with this woman.

"Don't be like that... you know it's only a matter of time until I find him... I can be very quick at finding what I want..." She said, and Snape ignored her, his gaze returning to the front waiting for the auction to start.

"You're ignoring me now... you know... I can see people's souls, but yours for some reason is invisible to me... are you human?" She asked, looking at Snape ignoring her.

"..." Snape didn't respond to her.

"You're interested in something from the auction, I can get anything as long as you answer just one question of mine." She said.

"I'm not interested." Snape responded.

She just smiled, and her eyes began to glow, fixing on Snape. "You're trying to enchant me... that doesn't work on me... and you better stop, I don't mind starting a commotion in this place and killing whoever I need to get out afterward." Snape spoke again while his eyes were becoming enraged.

"So brave... but inexperienced immune to even my charms... I've always used this ability to keep annoying people away from me, and the first time I use it on someone, that person is immune... I was right all along to come here..." She spoke while Snape didn't even know what to respond, wondering if it was the right decision to come to this place as he ended up meeting a kind of crazy woman.

"..." He turned to her again as if he was looking at an idiot, while she just smiled. "You can stop talking, the auction is about to start." Snape said.

"Be it so... Then let's enhance this table." She spoke unoffended as she snapped her fingers and the table filled with wine, glasses, and candles in an instant; Snape could see the conjured items appear so quickly that it took only a few milliseconds as he decorated the table and disappeared the next moment.

"You can even see them at that speed..." She couldn't help but comment, following Snape's gaze seeing something that no human could easily see.

"..." Snape didn't respond while looking forward and the woman with the white mask by his side didn't speak anymore as the place began to dim except for the stage, and everyone began to settle down, leaving Snape and the young lady aside, while a man in a red suit appeared in front of everyone.

"Welcome to our second auction of the year, I'm sure you will be very pleased with our items. So let's begin!" The man spoke while the woman beside Snape shifted her attention to the stage, still maintaining the same satisfied smile, wondering what the purpose of that interesting man was there, since he didn't seem to have friends like the others, isolating himself and maintaining a firm and closed posture.
