HP – Shadow Monarch!

Chapter 86 – A Common Day at Hogwarts.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

As Snape had agreed with the headmaster, he handed the sword to the headmaster the next day, as he went to the headmaster's office.

Of course, he spent the next few hours after having faced the basilisk, learned a memory of Salazar, and sealed the entire secret chamber, he began to study the magical metal as much as he could, but even he found it difficult to see some things and not even the house elves he asked for help could assist, saying that the Goblins were very powerful in the matter of forging magical items.

In the end, he marked everything he could from the sword while trying to figure out how the metal worked was to mark everything important that Snape could extract.

"That blade may be a challenge, just with the difficulty of having the goblins create their blade." Snape murmured, not to mention the ancient runes, which he found nothing like some traces of a language long lost since the time of Merlin, while modern wizards ended up not being interested in it over the centuries and it was lost to continue a more simplified language.

As Snape continued trying to plan how he would create such a blade, Dumbledore saw him sighing and immediately looked at the blade while studying it attentively to make sure everything was okay with the weapon, despite clearly showing that he used it in some way in a fight, the blade was still intact and Snape polished it before handing it over.

"I can feel that this blade was used harshly... but against what did the boy use it..." Dumbledore murmured and looked to Fawkes for an answer, but the phoenix just tilted her head to the side not knowing the answer, after all she even tried to look for Snape at the headmaster's request, but did not find him.

"It seems I will never know after all." He said in the end knowing that even though he wanted to ask more, he did not, after all, Snape would not say anything.

He then opened the glass of the Sorting Hat again and woke it up at that moment. "Albus?! Are you here to tell me that another presumptuous, arrogant, vain, conceited, proud, pretentious, haughty, and egocentric, Slytherin student is here to ask for more irrational things!! I swear Albus, I am about to retire if things continue like this!!" The hat seemed in a bad mood at that moment.

"You are exaggerating... and you can't even retire..." He said in the end.

"You are right, but I can take a vacation for almost a year." He grumbled.

"He already does that every year, after all he is only called to choose the new children..." A painting grumbled.

"Let me have my moment of revolt!" The hat exclaimed in the end and looked at Albus. "What do you want?" He said in the same tone.

"Returning the sword let me put it back until a Gryffindor student picks it up." Albus commented.

"Yes... The Snape who took your sword no longer has the right to use it." He spoke in the end.

While Dumbledore finished his things in his office, Snape had left the place and was heading to the stairs that move to leave the tower. Midway, he ended up encountering Potter along with the other Marauders emerging from another staircase.

It had been a while since the werewolf incident happened. They had not approached Snape anymore, obviously for fear of a possible expulsion from school, which would practically ruin their careers. But also what happened at the Whomping Willow was the highest point of fear they ever had of someone. And hearing from Dr. Penelope about the state Lupin was in his transformed form made it clear to them that Snape was no longer human.

So, they ended up being careful and not insisting on provoking him again, avoiding it as much as possible. However, they could not stop looking at him with anger, their eyes full of fury despite the fear, but they just limited themselves to that. When Snape passed by them, he also didn't care much about these guys and went on, while he headed to the precise room right after he was out of their sight.

After sleeping in his current residence, Dobby approached him, placing his breakfast on the table. "Master Snape!! Here, a letter left under your house in the old dormitory." Snape picked up the letter and did not expect that symbol on the seal, from a prominent family.

"I will eat in the common hall today, so you can take the food." Snape requested and Dobby nodded, disappearing with the food to the kitchen and opened the letter reading it calmly.

"Well... let's talk to her." He murmured in the end before burning the letter releasing a wandless magic as the letter began to catch fire.

He left his current room and headed to the aviary of the precise room to start doing his exercises. As he struggled as soon as the artificial sunlight hit his eyes, it was the enormous Graphorn that appeared by his side, pushing his belly.

"Your usual welcome, Atlas...?" Snape murmured immediately dragging his feet on the ground while trying to stop the animal aroma trying to make stags against him, while Snape responded with his own, having a little game of strength between them before Atlas could no more.

"You are big but still can't beat me..." Snape mocked the Graphorn, who since a few months ago, stopped being lazy and was starting to try to dispute territory with Snape, something he understood to be natural for the species. Atlas began to grow more firm, while muscles began to appear as he was much more agitated, but what should be common in a pack of Graphorn, with them disputing territories against each other, there was only Atlas here and he found Snape as the only one who could challenge him.

After dragging his legs on the ground for several moments, he seemed to finally give up while looking frustrated. "Stop that and let's run a bit." Snape suggested with a small smile.

Then he and the Graphorn began to run across the entire terrain until completing 10 kilometers while Shadow was circling above them.

When he finished, Snape appeared in the common hall. When he entered the place calmly, he was no longer the center of attention as in the first weeks of this year, but certainly there were still some people who noticed his presence, murmuring among themselves and pointing at him.

Snape was quite mysterious now, being almost unseen except for attending classes in Potions, Spellcraft, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Herbology, in addition to other rune classes at the school. They say he appears out of nowhere, like a ghost while no one understood how he did it.

He continued walking through the hall until he found an empty spot next to a blonde girl, whom he came to see exclusively. As he sat down, he felt an intense gaze coming from the other side of the table; it was none other than Bellatrix.

Snape turned his gaze to her and opened a smile, he was in a bit of a mood today. After all, no one else could say they fought a basilisk and survived. "Good morning to you, Bellatrix," he simply spoke.

The girl, who was staring him in the eyes, was surprised by this, while all the other people at the tables immediately looked at both wondering what was happening and how someone could say such a thing to this woman, before they started to focus again on their own matters fearing retaliation from both these unique characters in Slytherin, after all no one could mess with this one and come out unscathed.

Bellatrix, surprisingly was a bit embarrassed hearing that from Snape. "Don't talk to me, half-blood! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" she exclaimed, losing her appetite and leaving the table, leaving Snape behind with the others, while trying to hide her face.

"Hey... what was that?" Snape just looked amused. She continued challenging him all the time in duel classes, but always failed. He really didn't like her at the beginning, now he treats her like a person he has a bit of fun with her insistence and trying to avenge everything he did to her.

Then, leaving Bellatrix aside, Snape turned to Clarisse. "Good morning."

"Good morning..." Clarisse responded with a cautious look.

"Well, anyway... can you tell me why this?" Snape suddenly spoke, showing her the letter.

"I haven't been seeing you outside of classes, so I had to slip it under the door. But I'm surprised that you received it, you don't even seem to be living in Slytherin anymore," she complained a bit.

"Well, you can say that, but that's not what I meant... why is your father looking for me?" Snape spoke mysteriously before asking.

The letter was from Clarisse's father, Mr. Greengrass, informing him that he was invited to visit the family estate during the holidays, which would start when classes ended in less than two months.

Everyone was focused on the final exams at this time while the library was more crowded with students than ever, especially the seventh-year students and also the fifth-year students, due to the last year's graduation and the fifth-year specializations, which had to pass the final exams.

Snape had no problems with grades, while he just had to take all of them calmly while the transfiguration class was a bit different due to him being expelled from this class since the first day, but clearly calm, after all, Snape had already started reading all the subjects of the sixth year, since he intended to learn things that wizards would only learn outside of schools in the following years after mastering these subjects.

"You're a bit famous now..." she spoke while Snape raised an eyebrow. "Or I might have mentioned you a bit to my parents..." she said in the end, with a bit of shyness.

"That's fine, but I don't guarantee anything... I'm resolving some personal things and will use the holidays for that, so don't be offended if I don't show up..." Snape didn't care if one of the great families wanted contact with him, as long as he was free and had a good relationship with them, since he despised most of the families and their children didn't help much.

"That's alright. Anyway, I wanted to know if you could still help me with that..." She said timidly, as Snape had, since the beginning of the year, been helping her with various things, but it wasn't entirely for free, since she always managed to get special ingredients for him from her family's stores, where the variety of herbs and products was roundly gigantic and easy to get when you are the daughter of the owners.

"Sure, are you free after this?" He asked, and she nodded.

"Great." He said and looked at his finished plate and during that time he also ate some things.

Clarisse simply stood surprised as she was whisked away by Snape from the common hall with a normal apparition, something he had learned on his own.

"Look, he can use apparition!!!" A student pointed out as soon as he saw Snape disappear with Clarisse.

"Well... that is quite surprising..." In the teachers' room while the Slytherin students commented about the occurrences, many paid attention to Snape before he disappeared. Flitwick commented with surprise.

"I wouldn't say that... he is far beyond his peers." The D.A.D.A. teacher said beside.

"Haha. I knew he would be a good pick for next year's dueling championship, he'll be the Ace of our school!" Flitwick seemed happy.

"You shouldn't be happy about this, with aurors in the castle all the time.. if some of them see this, they will certainly come down hard on our shoulder, a fifth-year student using magic that should only be authorized by them." Professor Minerva commented in a harsh tone while looking at the director, expecting some support.

"..." Dumbledore just stayed silent, as always when it came to Snape, keeping his thoughts to himself.
