Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Real Man, It's Over!
As soon as Antonia appeared, he was suddenly surrounded by a group of armed officers.
The armed police and special forces had their weapons drawn!
People from other law enforcement departments were also watching closely.
But then, when they heard Antonia's loud voice and the report, everyone froze in place.
"Antonia!!!"
"Antonia!"
"..."
The officers from the Chicago Police Station were all ecstatic, and some of them even had tears in their eyes.
Rex shouted, "Don't shoot! This is Antonia, our brother from the station. Get out of the way, everyone!"
However, since Rex wasn't the commanding officer, his words didn't immediately carry weight, and the major groups remained indifferent.
Finally, Max, the supreme commander, regained his composure. He didn't reprimand Rex for acting prematurely, but he ordered everyone to stop immediately.
"Close the ranks, stay alert!"
Max strode forward from a distance, his gaze landing on Antonia, whose body was covered in blood, holding a child in his arms. Max's scalp tingled, and tears welled up in his eyes.
"Comrade Antonia, you've done an incredible job!"
Max wanted to pat Antonia on the shoulder, but he was unable to reach it. He hesitated, his hand hanging awkwardly by his side.
Finally, he balled his fist.
Antonia stood at attention, grinning as he said, "Chief, don't worry about me. There are 41 criminals inside!"
"In addition, there are six innocent women and four children. They're shaken, but their lives aren't in danger!"
Antonia's expression grew serious as he glanced at the child in his arms, who had already been anesthetized and was in a deep coma.
In the building, he had captured the leader first, Nolan and took him down in a single move. Though other criminals weren't actively threatening him, they still fought for their lives.
But in the end, it had been a messy fight.
The criminals dared to challenge Antonia, but none of them dared to go after Nolan
Antonia quickly assessed the situation and, using the Golden Bell defense and half of a stainless-steel door as a weapon, he dealt with the threat.
With a loud bang, the door panel struck down one criminal after another!
Out of the forty-one criminals, none of them escaped unscathed. While they hadn't all died immediately, most of them were on their last breath.
Especially the black doctor!
Antonia had dealt with the others, but when he discovered the basement, he found the black doctor preparing to use a scalpel on the child.
It was a split-second decision!
Antonia hurled half the door, and the black doctor instinctively tried to block with his arm, paying the price of broken limbs and spitting blood!
Not yet satisfied, Antonia approached and landed a few solid blows, ensuring the black doctor's fate was sealed.
The black doctor's life was now uncertain, but even if he survived, he would likely spend the rest of his days in a prison cell!
From Nolan, Antonia learned an important detail.
The child on the operating table had been abducted from Primary School!
That meant...
If Antonia had arrived one minute later, or waited for backup, this child would most likely never see the light of day again!
It was a close call.
Antonia said, his voice heavy with emotion, "This child was kidnapped from Primary School. He's not out of danger yet!"
Max was shocked upon hearing this!
However, by this time, the medical team had already arrived, and the child was swiftly handed over to them.
Max extended his hand again.
But he hesitated!
The young comrade was simply too heroic!
In the end, Antonia noticed the leader's concern and took the initiative to extend his hand.
He shook Max's hand firmly, being careful not to crush it in the process.
Max, visibly relieved, said, "Okay, okay, our Chicago police system has given rise to a true hero!"
"By the way, Comrade Antonia, how are your injuries?"
Before Antonia could answer, he quickly motioned to the medical staff, "Hurry, hurry, come and check on our comrade!"
Antonia hastily stopped him, saying, "Chief, I'm fine. Don't mind the blood—it's all from the criminals. I'm good!"
At that moment, several high-ranking officers from the Chicago Police Station came to their senses.
Rex, Marco, Sam, and the others didn't care about their other emotions. They immediately exchanged frantic glances with Antonia.
"Nothing at all?" they thought. "You must be fine!"
Unfortunately, Antonia didn't catch their meaning.
Even if he did understand their concern, he wouldn't take it to heart.
Because Antonia had never been the type to seek attention or resources by playing the victim!
A real man, it's over!
With that, Antonia smiled and said to the others, "Director, instructor, master, brothers and sisters, thank you for your concern, I'm really fine!"
He even flexed his arms to show off his muscles!
Everyone was left speechless.
Well, if he said he was fine, then he was fine. Just let him be happy!
Rex, Marco, and the others glared at him with disbelief.
Max, too, couldn't help but shake his head, torn between laughter and frustration.
This guy, Rex, didn't even compare to Comrade Antonia!
As for what Antonia had done today, could anyone in higher command ignore it? If he really wanted to play the humble card, Max would be the first to object!
Max kept his thoughts to himself and led everyone into the building.
As soon as they entered, their eyes went wide in shock!
It was beyond anything they had expected!
